The absolute terror they had to live under for 93 days is unfathomable to me. Thanks for a great reaction guys. Blessings to all who were involved in this heroic rescue. ✌🤗🙏
I was struck by her apology to her father...after all she went through Jessica recognized the pain and suffering her dad and family had been through as well. a very brave woman of character for sure... 💝💖💖💖
It happened again in 2020: "On October 31st, 2020, U.S. Navy SEAL Team 6 (DEVGRU) executed a successful rescue operation in Northern Nigeria to retrieve an American citizen, Philip Walton, who had been taken, hostage."
Excellent reaction guys. What an amazing example of resilience of the human spirit and the capabilities of our military. I was fortunate enough to meet Dr. Rhonda Cornum a few days before her helicopter was shot down in Desert Storm and captured. Her story reflects many of the same conditions and psychological challenges Jessica so clearly described. Thanks again guys. Awesome video.- Hawk
Another video on this rescue points out that the mission cost well in excess of 100 million dollars, more than double the exorbitant ransom the pirates were demanding. This policy came straight from Thomas Jefferson, "Millions in defense before a cent in tribute!" one of his campaign slogans referring to the Barbary Pirates. It's a matter of national pride: "Don't Tread On Me," as the Gadsden Flag proclaims.
That video was a lie. 100 million dollars is the cost of the entire yearly budget for the entire program and department which includes 8 teams, support personnel, equipment, training etc. Well over 200 plus personnel. Those teams conducted numerous missions every year.
@@sunohsun4234sure bud and you’re the department of defense director right? A quick google search says: “The rescue of Jessica Buchanan and Poul Hagen Thisted cost around $100 million. The rescue involved a raid by US special operations forces, including the Navy SEALs. “ I’m sure I trust a random basement dweller than actual sources.
The military personnel are all getting paid regardless, so there is only the incremental cost of fuel, maintenance, and ammo. No where near 100 million.
This was on my running list of future coffee requests. 😊 I'm glad you guys chose the longer video. There's another one that edits out some bits of the story. The entire situation is sickening including the child soldier involved. How anyone can do any of this to another human being is beyond comprehension. Children being tortured and forced to become foot soldiers is a horrific crime in itself. This woman is a true badass both for simply surviving and embracing life in the aftermath.
You don't hear about it but it happens more than you know, american special forces have done things like this many, many times, our government choose not to make it public
This is still a very watered down story. If you heard the real story, it is even more horrifying than you can imagine. First off, her Co-Worker knew she was going to be kidnapped. He forced her to go to this section to be kidnapped. Second her whole security people were paid 100,000.00 dollars so she could be taken. 3rd, the US military knew where she was at all times and had even listened in to them. 4th, the Kidnappers had backing from the US financially. Listen to the real story from her own lips. It is an hour long but well worth a listen to, to hear the Rest of the story.

It's a wonderful thing when people work in the aid of others but in the world we live in at the moment, it's dangerous to do that AND it puts your rescuers at risk. People really need to consider this before they decide where they go to do aid work, Americans are always targets.
I've seen this several times before, but I still get choked up. It's a very powerful and emotional story.
There is also a video about this story. Its told from the military point of view. Tells details about the mission. Its also worth the watch.

She asked " how they got there " ? If I'm not mistaken it was a high altitude parachute jump miles away from the L.Z.

@@sunohsun4234😂 You're wrong. Very very stupidly wrong.

🤣😆
Hi .thank you for pick my request is so scary can't imagine the terror for 90 days..i mean every second someone move you can get killed..Horror
No matter how many times I see this, I cry every time. Thanks so much guys 🙏 another great Reaction.
This was one of the best 60 Minutes reports ever!
I can't imagine what she went through. Thank you Navy Seals.
Just a little fact, the criminals were asking for 50 million and they didn't get it, but the actual cost to rescue her was 100 million

Hi Larry, thank you for your support to the channel it’s much appreciated and thanks for watching our content 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 BPR
What a story! So glad there was a happy ending ❤
There is a version of this from the Navy Seals point of view that is excellent.
I read that book. It was an excellent read.
What a dreadful ordeal, thankfully she survived.
Another look at the USA military capabilities
To this day she has never met any of the Deals who saved her. They are very secretive .
Oh wow… didn’t know that!
My last name is Buchanan too
Wouldn't have happened if The Felon had been in office.
She didn't escape. She was rescued by Navy seals
It is not unusual for America to rescue its citizens overseas.
Bandits, not pirates. Got water?
You don't hear about it but it happens more than you know, american special forces have done things like this many, many times, our government choose not to make it public
War, war, war. Never ends.
Very hard to listen to her story. Certainly doesn’t incline me to have ANY sympathy for the semolinas.
