I take that walk over the bridge every time I’m at one of those truck stops in Southern California. In & Out is the best. Welcome Back….
Your truck is looking really nice JJ.
Yeah, I've stretched a couple electrical lines. So truly a great idea to keep a spare on hand!
Instead of screwing the airlines directly into the fittings on the truck you could install female air quick connects. Then when you change lines you just transfer the male fittings over or replace the male fittings each time. That also allows you to easily take your lines off and store them inside.
Hey man, here’s something to keep in consideration, for the pigtail, get you some pigtail shims, one on the cab, and one on the trailer they work wonders and keep some spares behind as well for those.
I am going to get a Harbor freight 7/8 box wrench use cut off wheel to remove the closed in and then I can carry about a 3 foot cheater bar that will fit on the now blank end to assist with both more torque to loosen and tighten these or other stuff, plus it will also allow you to keep your hands away from the cat walk in this process, just and idea to help you as well. I love the video it was very helpful for this new driver to plan ahead. Thank you
Not a bad idea, however since you're getting it at Harbor Freight, you won't need a cut off wheel to remove the closed end. You can just chew it off with your teeth LOL. Be sure to get about three of them because the first two are sure to break.
Love the content, great video 👍
Like I’ve always said. I’d rather be looking at it than looking for it. Now you better order another. Maybe 2. 😂😂😂😂
Love these video.. great content
JJ. Great video. I did notice a hole in the back of your truck. Was that caused by the flying airline hitting it. Try not to hurt that sweet Pete. Be safe. Stay healthy.
You noticed that, eh? Lol
Yep that's exactly what happened. I've got to go get that fixed and I'll have another video talking about that plus other stuff that's happened while I was gone to poor BEV.
Glad to see you back on the airwaves my friend.
You may not remember me, but you offered me your load locks when you had gone to LandStar and had no use for them when I was fortunate to meet you at the Iowa 80. I was still with Prime.
@JJtheTrucker, once my house remodel was finished, I came to a local position in Orlando, Imperial Dade. I shuttle 53' trailers between our Florida warehouses.
I miss being OTR, but I felt things changed at Prime.
I've heard that from a lot of people at Prime. I'm glad that you found something and glad that you're happy, even if it is in Florida LOL
Another handy trick, if you don't have any Teflon tape you can cut some strips of plastic grocery bag in a pinch.
Yep I know that stop well. There's a place right around the corner that has killer tamales. I always grab a dozen.
Where??? I must know! TELL ME!!!
Sorry, I get a little worked up over good Tamales 😂😋
I love the sunglasses JJ!
When you can’t pull the release handle it just means there’s too much pressure against the lockjaw. You don’t need to do anything special just keep the trailer released and back the tractor up and immediately set tractor brake to keep pressure off the jaw. Takes half a second to fix
True, but I found that that only helps me about half the time. And then once it doesn't help and I've got to go through the whole process anyway, I've just resorted to going through the full process instead of something that tends to not work all the time because then that is wasting even more of my time having to do both. Hope what I said makes sense LOL
Great video JJ. Keep em coming.
Man you were about 20 minutes from where we are staying at in Cali
Hell it can take 20 minutes just to make it to the north side of the freeway on Milliken.
If you buy them from the shop not the C-store they usually have the nicer set.
If they have them in stock. And when they do they're definitely overpriced.
@@JJtheTrucker true, always cheaper on line. I was just suggesting to those drivers who want the better setup, but can't find them because they didn't plan ahead as your video suggested. :)
This was awesome. I just bought an entire hose ensemble for my truck and haven't put it on yet.. this gave me a great review on what to do.. did you use a 12 or 15 ft hose?
Hey JJ another great video! Thanks man. I was curious though, you mentioned it's a big no-no to have the lines dragging on the catwalk, but it looks like that spring is about twice as long as it needs to be and they were hanging down pretty far. Is it just a trick of the video?
You saw it correctly, so I had to clamp it accordingly. It a more flexible spring though, so it's working out well.
We still haven't had a look inside the peterbuilt
Sure we have. It's just been a while. Here ya go.

Are u going to do a video on why u left prime.?
I did one recently.. okay maybe it was 2 years ago LOL. Here it is

Interestingly, I did that live video at the same exact place where I just did the trucking economics 101 video.
I'm curious about why you are not at Prime any more. Maybe I missed the video of you stating why you left them. I used to be at Prime as well.
Yeah, for some reason the live videos don't post along with the regular ones, so they tend to get missed. You're not the only one.

Hey JJ this is off topic but I saw you have some super singles on your truck? How do you like them? I just bought a truck that has em now but I was thinking of swapping them out for duals
I haven't had any issues with them at all, and I've had them on all of my trucks. No blowouts, no traction issues, etc. They've been good to me. With that being said, I also have no experience with duals, so I can't give a good comparison.
At the very least, I'd wait until the tires were low on tread and in need of replacing, that way you're not throwing away perfectly good tires and tread.
Super singles are good. I’ve got them on one of my trucks and duals on the other. Just don’t buy recaps!
JJ I have a ? You now have had the Pete for a while has it been a good truck would you buy/ own another 579? with the MX13. Would love to hear your long term review.
Overall, she's been solid. No issues at all with the Paccar engine or transmission. She's had some overall minor issues here and there, but nothing that's left me stranded on the side of the road. No tows.
@@JJtheTrucker Fantastic glad to hear. All trucks have minor issues. Thanks JJ
