The Westinghouse was pretty well used and warn out. Mainly with the door equipment, they modded it and got new landing doors and possibly new car doors too. New controller and fixtures, I think the motor could still be original. The elevator in the back is still original Westinghouse RT.
Actually I'm pretty sure it's a Westinghouse RT from 1990-'91 which was one of the very last Westinghouse elevators ever installed because the the other elevator has a Westinghouse interlock and the freight I heard has Westinghouse AE fixtures.
Nathan Davis Next time I return here, I will retake the glass elevator, film the enclosed elevator that I didn't even know existed when I first visited here, and try to film the freight elevator.
@NathanAndrewDavis Just because a company acquires another company doesn’t mean they merged. Westinghouse and Schindler NEVER ACTUALLY merged. They were bought out completely in one day in 1989.
Because of the fact that the Carnegie Science Center opened in 1991. Maybe I could be wrong. Maybe it was installed in 1989 or 1990 while it was still under construction.
Brandon Miller These were installed in 1990 (certificate), & indeed have Westinghouse door equipment. You’re indeed right that the place opened in 1991, but the elevators were installed in around Oct. 1990. This 1 has since received an Otis M2 mod. but the Rangos elevator (the 1 you didn’t originally know about) is still original. And the freight elevator doesn’t have Westy door equipment, it has EMS door equipment, & installed by Minnesota Elevator in Oct. ‘90 (tag in elevator).
@ElevatingWesternPA Either the records are incorrect, or Schindler was using up Westinghouse parts at this time. Westinghouse did NOT exist after 1989.

Awesome video man! Schindler RT elevator is absolutely a classic!
This must've been installed in 1989.

Brandon Miller Hopefully when you're back Pittsburgh next time I would also like to meet you. Say when are coming back?

"Don't take pictures of me or i'll break your camera!" LOL
She said "You'll" break your camera.
That lady should have been arrested for destruction of private property.
This elevator has since been modded by Otis w/ Series M2 fixtures.
Damnit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you get the Rangos Omnimax Theater Elevator as Well?
They’ve since built a whole new addition, which has Otis elevators w/ Series 2 fixtures.
Is this still here?
Yes, but modded by Otis.
Are you Brandon Hasty
Schindler bought Westinghouse in 1989.
Ok, but how do you explain the fact that this & the freight elevator have Westinghouse interlocks?
Then how can these be installed in 1991?
