    Thank you for the explanation. I have a KP3 and Panda midibeam. I also have a MA-EV 10th hollosparkle with fuzz. Beautiful guitar.

    I bought one for someone I loved. Of course, it was overlooked (C stat guitarist? Really? She didn't have one) I'd already pushed my kindness too far. I gave her one lil thing to do, so it could be justified in the 3D world & she failed. (We have the same birthday. It's not too much to say happy birthday on our birthday!) I met her. She's east coast. Guess what Italian, NY guy! I'm learning how to play guitar on this same model. No one in my town in the local music scene has one of these..which is hilarious, bc I've been shooting for them for about 15 years. I did buy a Marshall Code 50 from a local musician. I have to learn all of it and I am super excited! Thank you for being available with your amazing knowledge!

    I currently have a fuzz/ sus Manson but I’m buying the midi/sus this week and was looking for a comprehensive video on the operation. (I’ve had my Kaoss pad for years but never utilised it). This video has helped so thank you! 🙏

      Wonderful, I'm very happy to hear that! And congratulations on your new guitar! There's nothing like holding a Manson with a real MIDI screen!

      Mike Scarabino May I ask if you get a somewhat distorted clean tone when the Kaoss pad is in your chain? Like on the highs? I’ve reduced input and trim but still gets a little pesky.

    • @michaelscarabino
      @michaelscarabino  4 роки тому +1

      @@vegacolony I'm sorry or such a late reply! I do not experience that in my rig at all. You might have your gain setting a bit too high, or you could have a bad cable some where. I'd have to see your rig but I would start with those 2.

      Scarabino Thanks man, I did some research and it’s to do with the quality of the audio output on the kp3. As I’m running it directly using the 1/4 inch jacks instead of the line in/out. I’ve decided to live with it as it gives the cleans a little crunch and clip which seems to work nicer one the songs 😂😂 thanks again though man! 🤘🤘

    This is actually a really helpful video that goes in depth and isn’t vague at all, for people with the pad I think this will genuinely help them. I actually have that same Digitech Whammy Pedal and I also have the MXR Phase 90 you talked about as well, Good video!!

    Super massive video! Wonder about program change of the pad. So the midi out from your guitar goes to the midi control board? And from there another cable to the kaoss pad? Containing both program change from the board and the XY info from guitar pad? Is that how you connected?

    • @michaelscarabino

      If you check out my full rig video, you'll see a better visual. But what I do is, the Kaoss Pad first sends to a MIDI Merger box so I can split the signal in order to receive commands from 2 devices. Input 1 receives from the guitar MIDI screen, and input 2 receives from the Mastermind GT.

    Hi Michael, a super useful video! Can you daisy-chain multiple MIDI devices to the XY Pad on the Manson? If so can you assign e.g. X axis to pitch from whammy and Y axis to one of Kaoss Pad's filters? Or if you can only control one device at a time, is there a way to switch between the two (Bellamy is known for using both Kaoss Pad and Whammy if I'm not mistaken). If you can control 2 devices at all, how do you switch between them? Do you assign devices to different MIDI channels? Can you control which channel you're sending the signal from your guitar?

      Hey Marcin, thank you for watching, I'm glad that this video is helpful! So, that is a question that I get asked OFTEN. Its most likely that Matt has the Bluebell only routed to a whammy pedal for Break It To Me. Every other guitar with a MIDI screen goes to a KP2. As far as switching, I have thought of how I'd do it in the past, but it requires more costly accessories. I've personally never been interested in doing it, but I'm sure its possible.

    Hey! So i have a Manson midi guitar coming aswell as a kp2. So i just wondered, how do i get the sound out of my blackstar ht 60 amp? As far as i know there is no jack input/output at the kaoss pad.
    Also just want to say that this was a great video!

    • @michaelscarabino
      @michaelscarabino  4 роки тому +1

      Hello Marius, I'm happy that you liked the video, thanks! Congrats on your new Manson! So in order to connect the KP2 in your rig, it would be the very first thing in your pedal chain. You can use the same method I use for connectors as seen in the video, or you may connect with instrument cables in the bottom jacks. As long as you set things up the same way in this video, your sound should be nicely balanced. If you have more questions when it comes in, just reach out to me. I'm on Instagram @michaelscarabino cheers!

  • @alecckss
    @alecckss 3 роки тому +1

    Correct me if I’m wrong but wouldn’t it be better to have the kaoss pad be the last in your signal chain before the amp if you’re only using it to make the funny sounds? The way I see it I don’t want all that noise to become even more distorted than it already is.

    • @michaelscarabino
      @michaelscarabino  3 роки тому

      That highly depends on what kind of rig you're running, and how you intend to use the pad. In my case, that's exactly what I'm doing before it sends to Axe Fx. Every analog board is different though, I might say one thing in a video like this, but not everyone will run it the same way, So all you have to do is just test it out. Thanks for watching by the way, Alex!

    Hi. May I ask you a question? I bought a Kork Kaoss Pad KP3+ an a Korg Manson with midi Screen. I think that I connected the Guitar with the KP3 + and the Axe FX II correctly. But I cannot use the Guitar as a Controller. I can play the guitar but the effect do I touch directly on the KP3+ Screen. Wenn I Play the guitar, so I can hear the sound, but the Midi Screen doesn't work. I'm probably setting the midi functions on the KP3+ incorrectly (channel or filter)..... I hope you find the time to give me an idea. Thank you in advance for your answer. Best regards. Beat

      Hey! I'm not 100% sure that I understand what you're asking about. If your MIDI screen is not sending data to the kaoss pad, then make sure that your MIDI channels are the same.

      @@michaelscarabino Thank you for answering! Sorry to bother you again. That's what I do not understand. Are you referring to the channelsettings between KP3+andAxe FX II?

    Hi. Ive got my manson mbm 1 sus with xy pad since 2 weeks now. Yesterday i bought the kaoss pad 3+ and i tried it out. But after connect the Midi cable from the guitar to the Midi IN of the KP3, nothing happens. I cant control it wit the pad on the guitar. I cant find anything in the webside of KORG. Is there anything else to do in the KP3 first? I hope you can help me. Thanks

    • @michaelscarabino
      @michaelscarabino  4 роки тому

      Hey! It sounds like you need to set your MIDI channel in the KP3 with the same channel as your MIDI screen. Manson Guitar Works does not install them in the Meta Series guitars, so I'm not sure which screen you're using or how it works. If my suggestion about the MIDI channel does not work, I recommend taking this question to who designed the MIDI screen. Let me know how this goes, cheers!

  • @rickkproductions2888
    @rickkproductions2888 2 роки тому

    This is a bit off topic but I can't find any info on this. But can the xy pad of my KP3+ be controlled by a different midi controller? Via midi expression pedals, or the pitch and modulation wheel of a midi keyboard controller? the KP3 manual states that CC#12 controls the X and CC#13 controls Y

    • @michaelscarabino
      @michaelscarabino  2 роки тому

      Interesting question! You could probably find a way to connect an expression pedal to assign it to certain CC values to control certain toggles on a KP. However I don't think it could control the actual touch pad. The movement of the pedal would not be able to control the motion of the kaoss pad action very well with demanded results. That's kind of ambitious, but if you accomplish that, share it!

    can i know why the volume of KP2 is not loud?

    • @michaelscarabino
      @michaelscarabino  2 роки тому +1

      That depends on how you currently have your rig setup. Check your speaker/amp levels, make sure that you have them turned up to a louder level to accommodate for KP2 signal.
