Rock Fishing for BIG Tailor

- As the water starts to warm around our local fishing spots, the pelagic species start to show up. Our first session of the year unfortunately no kingies, tuna or mackerel but we managed to land some nice sized tailor (bluefish) the biggest going 68cm.

Silver Trevally, if you want to know what the weird looking trevally is. West Coast we call them Skippy.
Good eating too i love catching them they put up a good fight.
Fresh tailor is great eating quality. Nice clip boys 👌🏼

how many lures have you lost to that cunji in front of the ledge? that stuffs deadly haha. they're some solliiiidddd tailor though.
haha yeah definitely lost alot of lures on the cunji, hard to avoid. yeah good to see some bigger tailor showing up, keen on another session

Do the old 1 part salt to 3 part brown sugar marinade and smoke em up. Best way to have them! That big one was a thumper

Nice footage. What braid and leader are you guys using?
Thanks mate, were using wft braid 32kg (70lbs) and 80 lb leader. would usually use around 30 lb and 40-50 leader if we were just fishing for tailor but we were expecting a tuna or mackerel so we were using the heavier setups

What rock shoes did you wear
usually wear dunlop volleys and cheap 5 dollar kmart ninja shoes we call them haha both have great grip on the rocks
