Thank God for Archbishop Lefebvre for being bold. The more I study about him the more I understand he was really doing in his heart what he felt in his heart that he had to act to protect The Mass that St. Pius V said The Latin Mass was that The Latin Mass was The Mass for all ages and said no one not even a future pope had the authority to undo his decree or even add or subtract from his decree and it must be protected for all ages. He was definitely a hero to protect The Latin Mass despite the obstacles that seemed nearly impossible!

It must have become clear that if he did not do something, no one would.

Archbishop Lefebre was a great catholic hero who fought for the traditions of hundreds of years. As far as I know the Catholic Church recognized 3 languaged :Hebrew, Greek. Latin. The Latin text never changed, but since we use our own language, for example, the text of the prayers are changing every?? years. The Archbishop knew that we would come in a period of a confused church. Look at what the pope did: Bring pagan PanchamMama to the Vatican. I was absolutely shocked. If all the religions bring us to the heaven, why not abolishing our belief? I still pray for the pope, but have the strong feeling he is the antichrist. But...
      Christus vincit. Semper.

Many Catholics today are in dilemma on when and how to exercise obedience to an authorized institution. The word "OBEDIENCE is being used often by the church hierarchy, cardinals, bishops, and priests, even lay faithful to challenge the SSPX,other traditional Catholic movement, even the Sedevacantist. We are grateful to the Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre!

@@dianastevenson131 I REALLY like that idea!!! What a slap in the face of the modernists; the cancer destroying the Holy Church from within (for a season). He could perpetuate and enhance the sustainability of the SSPX as well as send a clear message to Rome just by doing so. I must admit, I like the way you think. Very strategic and multidimensional. Blessings to you sister!🤩

Is it irony, or Divine Providence, that the Ecclesia Dei communities (specifically the FSSP) and other trads who were, shall we say, less than supportive of the saintly late Abp. Lefebvre now find themselves in the exact same situation he was forced into and now are advocating for the exact same things he already courageously did? May God bless and grant eternal rest to Archbishop Lefebvre and richly bless the SSPX.

I was deeply saddened that Pope John Paul II excommunicated the archbishop so quickly without any time for discussion. Was Pope John Paul II pushed into acting abruptly by the Curia? Politics entered into the decision; hence ; Archbishop Lefebvre made the right decision to ordain new bishops.

Yes. I was suffering through the awful antics of the NO. The Mass was a circus and the priests were clowns. But that was fine. There was one good Bishop and he excommunicated him. I thought that was the end of everything.

He jumped the gun with those last two points when speaking about the Priests who departed from the society. Those Priests feel the opposite, that they were sticking to their convictions and principles, and followed their conscience in doing what they felt was necessary. To claim that they changed their principles simply for departing from the society by reasons of conscience is ridiculous. In times of crisis, holy people will disagree on how to handle it. Both the FSSP, the SSPX, as well as other traditional Catholic societies are trying their best to preserve tradition. Rather than think that you are the only ones doing it right, it might be humbler to recognize that the Holy Ghost can use different groups and individuals to accomplish His goals, rather than one.

That was his opinion from his point of view, not dogma and by no means a condemnation. The priests who defected also thought he'd gone too far, which clearly isn't true but it was there opinion. Nothing ridiculous in that.

23:15 AH! So this is the connection between Rome’s reaction to the consecrations and collegiality!
I’ve had on the tip of my brain that there is a connection, and it has seemed weirdly contradictory to me, but I hadn’t quite put my finger on it.

That's what Benedict did. Now Francis's hatred for the entire Tradition has moved him to negate the former Moto Proprio and make an evil one of his own.

21:15 yeah, they were waiting him out, clearly. Ecclesia Dei promised a bishop for the communities dedicated to the Tridentine Mass. That was 1988, two years before my birth. Where’s their bishop?

Amazing what mental gymnastics can be played in order to avoid or gloss over some very important points.
An ecumenical council presided over by the successor of St Peter together the entire body of Bishops from around the world is just about the highest source of authority we have as Catholics. The votes on the documents weren't even close. Was the Holy Spirit asleep at the wheel? What if other Bishops decided that certain teachings from Trent or Nicea didn't sit well with them? Do we all of a sudden get to pick and choose what parts of Church teaching that we like or think confirms to tradition?
Ordaining bishops without the permission of Rome incurred an automatic excommunication. Ah, but we answer to a higher authority and look at the mess in the Church... said every Protestant ever.
The Bishops in union with the Pope did not declare any sort of state of emergency in the Church that would necessitate this extraordinary action. You don't get to decide for yourself that this state exists. Neither has the entire Church succumb to modernism.
Joan of Arc once quipped that "...about Jesus Christ and the Church, I simply know they're just one thing, and we shouldn't complicate the matter." This distinction between obeying God above man (ie the Pope) is silly. The Pope is the safeguard of faith and morals, not individual archbishops who take it upon themselves to determine what is in continuity with tradition. Sure if the Pope says the sky is grey when it is sunny we can safely disregard what he says. But y'all better pay attention when the Pope speaks about Catholicism.
Sure things are a bit of a mess (especially the liturgy) but there is always some crisis or another going on in the Church. I find solace meditating on the book of Job, particularly the part where God talks about "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?" God isn't going to abandon his Church. He knows far greater than we what needs to happen and he will write straight with crooked lines. We don't need to resort to this traditionalist mentality.

    • @luissantiago8446
      @luissantiago8446 2 роки тому +1

Funny you should quote a quipping Joan of Arc, who herself was excommunicated and burned at the stake. And for you to quip about the Church being merely in a state of, "mess," is a ridiculous understatement. Ending your screed with a slight backhand towards those with a "traditionalist," mentality simply leads one to not only not take your objections seriously, but to reject them altogether. God bless the FSSPX!
