Although I love the scene where they used Shogun mode outside the megazord that I actually liked what they did since the difference between the final fights was that the Sentai ver they only used the Shiba fire disk and Master Xandrad was defeated soon after he was attacked on it which I loved and great scene btw but in the US version I loved how they made their own idea and let shogun mode be the final power to destroy xandrand's weak point which I liked alot but still both series I liked and really a great part of my childhood

They could've least hired Asian or half-asian actors for the role of jayden and Lauren. Like none of the actors are Japanese (mia's character is complete Japanese, and others are mixed-race, since her surname is 'Watanabe' but her actress is Chinese. Well, at least an east-asian). They look like ninjas more. And the thing that the monsters are attacking outside Japan just for 'samurai-s' to protect the people and yeah the fact that an ancient Japanese house popped out of nowhere in a separate country for the samurai leader to live and make it their base is SOOOOOO believable (WHY?!). They turned mojikara into 'Samurai symbols' for them to be like "I can't tolerate water cuz I am a fire samurai (just an imagination)"
I would be ok if they cast the red japanese or at least he was raise in a japanese household who was trained as a Samurai but yeah it's strange how they never explore the motif
Considering Samurai brought back "Go Go Power Rangers" as the main theme and featured Bulk (and Skull's nephew but ehhhh), I think the showrunners were more interested in nostalgia-baiting than actually taking advantage of the Samurai theming. Plus, I've heard a lot of preproduction staff thought incredibly low of its audience when writing these shows. At the very least I think that was the case for Super Megaforce.
Me too i used to watch pr samurai when i was young but then as i got older i watched shinkenger and saw how much better it is and in the end almost every power rangers season is just a waterdown version of the sentai they are based on
For me...the good thing in samurai was when they have another suit when entered the zords(Plus the sword mechanism...looks sick). And that's the last PR i've ever watched till it's end...oh not to mention Decker's role and his rivalry with Jayden really nice
I’m currently watching Shinkenger now and although PR Samurai and Shinkenger have a few similarities (Shiba Clan, Dyuu, Sanzu River threat) Shinkenger is better because it’s original. PR Samurai looks like a bunch of American actors are trying their best to live in Japanese culture and they are far from it .
I’m not just going to like a show because it’s the original. It’s ok to say you like the scenes on PR over Sentai. There are scenes where I prefer from the Power Rangers over the original sentai. I like the morphing and the music when it comes to PR but I also love the story for Sentai. The characters between the Sentai and PR is a draw for me. I just find them both awesome.

Shinkenger was my first bit exposure to super sentai cause when I was younger and looking up pr samurai clips on UA-cam I stumbled upon a shinkenger clip and was completely confused because I didn’t know anything about super sentai at the time and didn’t know what to think of it, now I’ve seen shinkenger and can say with confidence that it’s better than samurai imo
In this work, the role of Red is played by "Matsuzaka Tori", who is placed at first sight as an actor even in Japan today. Also, I don't know about the overseas version, but in Japan, from "Episode 20", It is linked with "Kamen Rider Decade", and Decade is "Episode 24" And SAMURAI connects to "Episode 21", and in Decade, it connects to Episode 25. By the way, it's not about looking for mistakes, but the Japanese version has a few "outsiders", so it's fun to look for them♪

It's a masterpiece!), the main character's live action actor was named Takeru Satoh while the main character's love interest is actually named Kaoru. Not to mention, it's a Samurai anime lol.

I watched PR Samurai before any sentai. Like all kids, it held a special place in my heart. When I was older I got introduced to the original Japanese series, and at first I was skeptical... But boy are they a thousand times better. Power rangers are so bland and meaningless in comparison. There's a lot of plot, character development and detail that goes into super sentai. Power rangers just reduces the show into 'badass fight scene' or 'badass morphing scene' which aint even that badass.
The Power Rangers one will always have a special place in my heart with the music, special effects and the morphing scenes. But the original sentai japanese will always have a better plot/story and the better treatment character development over their characters. There are times where PR have better scenes/humor/and life lessons I’ll never forget. PR are just more lighthearted and wholesome for me. My favorite one is with Sky on SPD, Kruger and Xander from Mystic Force. I like those characters more than Sentai but to each their own.
I see it as under armor to lessen the impact of getting hit. Honestly the mask doesn’t really bother me especially since it only exists in the Morphing Sequence.

Usually I’m the one to say “don’t be too harsh on the PR counterpart” but this one was just bad. PR Samurai/Saban had one job, and it was to create a Japanese samurai storyline. Disappointed that they didn’t cast ANY Japanese/Japanese American actors for the roles. Jayden is supposed to be Japanese even his last name is “Shiba” and he’s just a white actor playing a japanese character. They should’ve at least casted a Japanese red ranger. While I do understand Samurai was quite popular among kids back in the day and it introduced a new generation to Power Rangers. If you’re one of those kids that is grown up now, do yourself a favor, watch Shinkenger. It’s 10x better!

Super Sentai Shinkanger, Kamen Rider Decade, Ultraman Zero was my favourite from each tokusatsu show.

Fatal Mistake here,Samurai are bold which mean they don't do sneak attack or hiding their face cause they hold onto one Motto which is Fight With Honor,Here as you can see on PR Samurai,In mid transformation They hide their faces which is wrong and mistaken with ninja

So, Ipputsu Soji was more cooler and Samurai went well with Japanese.

I'm not saying that Samurai was a bad Power Ranger series, I just feel that Neo Saban could have just dubbed Shinkenger into English and probably could have gotten better results and save in money costs
They would also have to do a lot of censoring because it’s a lot more violent than PR. There’s a decent amount of blood. It would just end up looking even worse than the yugioh 4kids dub.
