I love this. Asking Bret Hart, the jewel of the most famous wrestling family in history, if his family know he's a wrestler 😂😂 10/10 sets the tone perfectly, great job J-Roc!
Whatever happened to that youngster Bret Hart Jeff Jarrett
Hey OSW… have u guys ever watch any wrestling? 😂
Does that mean he doesn't know about Bruce? 😳
Nice to see you lads are men of culture who enjoy the Trailer Park Boys as well
oh me meow
Thank you UA-cam algorithm. This is a gem.
Man, Bret said he thinks he has about three years left...in 94, three years before screw job.
Someone else caught that...nice lol.
So does that mean the screw job was a work and Bret knew about it?
Bret is Stu's prodical son of course. Shiii Bret could arguably book WWE in this day and age with the outing of VKM.
@@kylebarna9148 I'd be interested to see what he could do as a booker.
Ended up being six years.
"I woulda paid thirty!" is the endorsement of a lifetime.
In the words of Raven, "what a mark."
According to a random website I found, $20 in 1994 would be roughly $37 today, meaning he'd have been willing to spend the equivalent of $55, which is about right these days.
those teenage fans are like 45 now
@@randallstewart8554 I'd like to see how those 2 boys turned out
coming from a child who doesn't know the value of money lol
Double J working the gimmick is a beauty to see, what a class act.
He seems like a fun person.
His daddy was a strong willed person
Never liked him growing up...found him to be annoying...but as a grown fan now...hes one of my favorites....His podcast ain't to bad either, especially early episodes.
@CptWhit3y same bro, didn't care for him in wwf mid 90s, and he was never around too long, but the interviews I have seen of him, and looking back at his work, he was really good.
Absolutely 💯
lmao even CBC calls him J-Roc 😂
Jonathan will never escape this character!
Infringement. It's so people think this has something to do with Trailer Park Boys even though it doesn't.
Best part is he was doing Street Cents at this time with Mike Clattenberg, who later created Trailer Park Boys.
I love time capsules like this
“Is this sports or entertainment?”
Vince: “WRITE THAT DOWN!!”
@Mat AL Arc Aid
vince was calling it that for a decade prior
he called it that in 1984...
@@-The-Darkside thats what i said
$20 for a ticket... Those were the days. I remember paying that for a WCW show in 99. Good times.
And today it's over $600 to sit in the back row of Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, insane!
@@UnexpectedAmy bro i was checking the prices for the show in germany... its like 2-6THOUSAND per ticket... i can better buy a flight to wembley and buy aew ticks.. wwe is for the giga rich now it seems
Not even that long. In 2019 I took my son and nephew to smackdown, all 3 tickets were less than $50, total. Just bought 2 tickets recently for just me and my son, total $165. If that hadn’t been his birthday ask, probably wouldn’t have got them.
And also, Jay 2 tha R - O - C!!!!!
I saw you at that show….2 rows behind you.
I paid $25 to see AEW.
Absolutely love the first question…. And Bret’s response. I can’t imagine he’s been asked that many times before.
That is pretty much equivalent to asking Wayne Gretzky if his family knows he plays hockey LMAO
Jeff Jarrett is STILL wrestling today. He made his debut in 1986.🤯
and still in great shape
He still sucks, too!
Never drew a dime either
maybe one day he will be good enough to be interesting enough to be watched. Otherwise he should quit. Sure a good heel is a good heel but every one turns baby face unless the fans just hate the guy, I still hate him, the actor not wrestler.
To think Jarrett is still going strong today. Im 43 & Ive been watching since 1983 when Snuka came off the cage. Most of the earlier stuff my uncle had on VHS. I would watch them when he went to work.
Im amazed that anyone from that era is still going today. A piece of it dies every day, & with it a little bit more of my childhood. Even the next generation has already begun to retire. The Cenas, Ortons, Danielsons, etc. Im keenly aware that Im at the age I've seen 3-4 generations of sports & they have been the best. I kinda feel bad for kids today that missed those eras. Watching on UA-cam isnt the same as living it.
He has great longevity
They were the best??? Compared to who??? Did you forget the Austins, Rocks, Takers, Hunters, HBKs etc etc etc???
nah but we're living through one of the most exciting times in wrestling in ages. know who i feel bad for? all the wrestlers from past generations who vince never gave a chance. there's more opportunity now in the world of wrestling than there has been in a really long time
@@gone.golfing 3-4 generations of wrestling include literally everyone you just named. Maybe enroll in a reading comprehension class or something?
@@DarkShark-xj4fd Uh he said "THEY" have been the best meaning the generation he named. Take your own advice there buddy.
That isn’t J-ROC! He’s in jail until the album drops!
nom-sane
He hiding under his moms trailer. Irra irra 🎛 2 turn tables and 1 microphone .
@@Barbu66
I was waiting for it the whole time, lol. Wonder when J-ROC first uttered that fantastical phrase. Lives on in my head forevermore!
Was that real crack he was smoking?
Trailer park life
This actually looks like a really good card, Taker vs Yoko, Razor vs Double J, Bret vs The Anvil (would rather see Owen in this spot) Adam Bomb vs Kwang and Diesel also looks like hes in there.
Look at you watching a video and pointing out who’s in the video! Well done!
Ha i just saw adam bomb for a second!!
The results from the History of WWE site:
WWF @ Halifax, Nova Scotia - Forum - October 22, 1994
The Bushwhackers defeated Well Dunn after reversing a pin attempt behind the referee’s back
IRS pinned Bob Holly by blocking a sunset flip into the ring and holding onto the ropes for leverage
WWF Tag Team Champion Diesel pinned Sionne with a clothesline; Sionne played the heel
WWF IC Champion Razor Ramon pinned Jeff Jarrett by reversing the figure-4 into a small package
Adam Bomb pinned Kwang with a DDT
WWF World Champion Bret Hart pinned Jim Neidhart with a school boy roll up after Neidhart collided with Jeff Jarrett on the apron
The Undertaker defeated Yokozuna in a casket match

30 years later and Jeff Jarrett is still active in wrestling. Props to him
yea most people hate the guy so much, I am surprised any one is willing to watch him wrestle.
the quality of this is beautiful. good ole film.
One thing about WWF at the time - the brains around the wrestlers were always very smart - they are top notch marketers, and top notch speakers.
J-Roc has always been a jam-up guy.
FUN FACT: The "J" in "J-Roc" doesn't stand for "Jonathan", it stands for "Jam", because he's a jam-up guy.
@@DasNordlicht91 J-Roc in fact does have the jam.
Absolutely. Who are they to doubt El J-Roc?
So, Jroc from trailer park Boys was originally a reporter?
@@UnseenLive1 yeah he also had his own Canadian tv show called Jonovision.
J-Roc, baby!
it can happen to you because it happened to me (and T)
In 1994, Bret thought he had 3 years left - but in 1997, he would be the hottest heel in all of wrestling
And his career ended that year too. He retired after Survivor Series.
@@stevenmcd4741 you know he went to WCW right?
@@MobinKiadeh we don't talk about wcw

Bret forshadowing his own demise saying he only has 3 years left......(okay wcw happend but we rather not talk about that for bret)
This is ahead of its time. It feels like a 2020s video
really? it's clearly got a mid 90's feel
@@DavidSmith-rv2hw Yes and no. His interviewing style is similar to modern day UA-camrs.
God I miss the 90's 💙
30yrs later JJ is still out there. Gotta love it 😆

in 2024 2 people can barely go on a date to mcdonalds for 30 bucks
With inflation, it would be 60 bucks. But given how ridiculously expensive everything is nowadays, you still ain't getting much
In Australia you can get a family meal for 35$ which is 23USD which is plenty for 2 ppl unless you're obese , do your research before you type such senseless things please
@@officerdante2578 i apologize for making a joke that clearly triggered you, just breathe

@@rodzor I love McDonald's, it is just so damn TASTY 🤤
Asking if Pro Wrestling is a passing fad just before the NWO & The Attitude Era redefined Pro Wrestling is absolutely priceless in hindsight because we had absolutely no idea that was going to happen starting in July of 1996.
NWo redefined wrestling, attitude era was a response to it and still people won't give Russo credit.
Is that J ROC!?
yup!
Well-before he was spinning more rhymes than a lazy susan, and before his guilt could be proven.
Yup 👍
Of course
before you disprespect j r-o-c, it could happen to you cause it happened to me & T
I've been looking for this since for years! I remember seeing the original Street Cents piece. Thank you for recovering this lost media!!!
THIS IS AMAZING! ! KEEP IT COMING!!!!!! This is what I remember as a 5-10 year old
That was absolutely gold content. Nice throwback.
Funny for the prections of how long they'll be around Bret was pretty much right and Jarrett is still wreslting in 2024 4:50
Bret was 3 years off and not by choice. You forgot his WCW run.
Where is the coverage like this today? Love the long-form!
3 legends in this video damn.
Cbc is so the type of people that have super amazing footage in a vault in the frozen north and were like "yeah.. can we see some"
Cbc: maybe nah
I was there that night 2nd row and it was an awesome show! Here are the results for anyone curious:

CBC really pulled one out of the bag. Thank you!
Cool video for CBC to post.
Great stuff and excellent interviews! As a fan of wrestling of this era I loved every second of this! Love the Jarrett finally broke character at 5:40 😁
that very 1st question to Bret is a certified classic
I just about pissed myself laughing at that question. I wonder if Wayne Gretzky has ever been asked if his father knows he played hockey
Wow. Whole lotta legends in this video. Also J-Roc.

Great report, know what im ssssaying.
What's funny is hearing Bret Hart say that he only had about 3 years left. And this is in 94 and he left the WWF in 97. And would only last number 3 years after that. He wasn't far off

"I liked the bussines a lot more when the marks were upfront in the seats" - Dutch Mantell
What is the relevance here
@@jpVari Giving everyone access to the internet at the palm of their hands is going to be the downfall of humanity.. Its relevant because we are on the internet and Dutch was referring to all of the Marks online.
This is the only honest and worthwhile piece of journalism CBC has ever produced. But you should probably avoid infringing on other people's copyrights. Pretty sure "J-Roc" is the property of Corus Entertainment.
Happy birthday Owen. Love from Montreal

My two favorite things combined
Jarret’s outfit 😂
His best attire.
I love when two of my favorite worlds collide in ways that feel illegal.
Jarrett was 27 here, crazy
1994? This is like modern youtube style
04:48 Damn that was accurate
Insane that he was nearly spot on with his prediction - especially since after this he signed a 20 year lifetime contract that Vince wanted to get out of due to the downturn in business and being on the losing side (to start with) against WCW, which then forced Bret to WCW - where his career eventually ended after being misused by Bischoff - WWF wise, yep, 3 years - done.
Thankfully his legacy lives on.
He knew he was turning 40 in 3 years. That's the age a lot of oldschool wrestlers would either retire from the ring or become part timers.
Pretty good Interview, Know what I'm sayin'?
Wait a minute, am I looking at J-Roc from Trailer Park Boys?
Most people in my neighborhood know me as jroc, lol.
“Did the fans think it was worth the $20 admission?”
