Fairy Mushroom Tutorial

These magical clay mushrooms with curly tops are easy to make and add a touch of whimsy to any fantasy scene or fairy garden. I'll show you step by step how to make them out of polymer clay, but you can use air-dry clay too.

It's ordinary water-based craft paint. Could you tell me a little more what you mean by yours isn't becoming sticky?

How did you do the paint swirling in just the top

Mmmm, I'm not sure how to answer that. If I remember correctly I applied the first colour quite thickly and then added drops of complimentary colours and dragged them down into the wet paint

Can i make it without foil?

The foil helps the mushroom keep its shape while baking. I find the bottom sags if there's no foil to hold it up.
