- Each set of TFT brings something new to the table. Runeterra Reforged introduced portals (and Legends!), Remix Rumble had Headliners, and Inkborn Fables greeted us with Encounters! There are various types of them, ranging from game-changing to less impactful. And let's not forget that working out with Sett can make you bigger! But today, I will focus on two specific encounters: Kobuko's Dance Party and Fishing with Tahm Kench. Both of these minigames offer Loot Orbs with valuable rewards inside. Typically, you'd have to wait until the encounter ends, return to your board, then drag your Tactician to the other side of the board to open the orbs. But what if I told you there's a way to open them early, before the encounter ends? This way you can get an edge over your opponents in every game! So grab your notebooks and get ready to take notes!

cant you just look at the minimap and judge where you are standing based on the tactition icon?
If you open an orb on carousel and it drops gold, but you aren't able to pick ti all up, will it stay there, or fly to you? It wouldn't be really nice if I had to wait to another carousel, just to pick up my gold.
Can you do this when you're in mobile? or it's nearly impossible because of minimap.

One time i was afk and forgotten about it(fishin), and half the lobby was pinging me. Tldr, half of them started scouting my board and holding my unit. So do it at your own risk.

i personally like to refer to them as "team-building exercises" and always say "good work team" at the end of the tahm kench one
I've been catching these orbs since start of set in the hopes it works for interest, awesome to see it highlighted! One note, can't you identify where your island is just based on moving around and watching where your little legend's icon is on the minimap without having to figure it out based on map details and/or placement?

Hey LeDuck, I think there is an easier way to figure out which direction is yours. You just look at the minimap and which side is your little legend spawned from and move accordingly. Not sure, if this makes sense.
This is the method I used for the pictures. I understand that for some players memorizing the carousel or checking the minimap is easier (preferably with a large monitor, since the LL can stack on top of each other), but I wanted to provide a shortcut solution that is easy to use for newer players.

Hadn't watched this and I had the same idea. Do we know if you grab an orb with gold before the next round starts if you gain interest from it if you hit a breakpoint?

This is ABSOLUTELY worth the effort if you are tryharding. You can straight win the game by getting 20g off TK which snowballs your interest immensely from stage 1-1
no its not because all it takes is you needed to reroll 1 or 2 more times than one of your other 7 opponents do for their champ in order to reverse any lead .. or vice versa
@@gasaiv578 Except gold snowballs the earlier you get it (/save it from being able to hit earlier) due to interest. On average the difference in getting 20g before or on 1-1 is probably like half a placement, which is massive (though just estimation)

Hey just read the guide and looked at the images.
Since I don't wanna spam ping the lobby nor pull up some pictures, I think there's a pattern, as you mentioned in the beginning. Can you confirm this?
So this is the Map Structure
TL TM TR
ML X MR
BL BM BR
and if you're in eigth, since we always count starting from 8, the map is
TR MR BR
TM X BM
TL ML BL
Now for each placement higher, you do the following:
uneven --> mirror positions
even --> move all starting positions by (8-placement) / 2
uneven --> mirror placement+1 positions (so if this is a 5, take the 6)
example 3rd place:
Move ML to the right twice, mirror it --> its now on true ML.
and from there I figure out what my current BM is and then just walk to my minimap pos

Man, you don't have to look up for map designs, just ping in the carousel and find the way it is so simple. I was expecting that from you but that didn't came up. I am disappointed.
Never expect anything and you can't get disappointed! Just wish i'd taken this to heart before I learned they reset the Riot MMO..

i though not so much people realized how this worked, i was opening orbs like this, i know is only 1 gold but why not, with tahm is a big deal tho, can make up for 2 interest thresholds
Another way to remember this without the image is 642(top left top mid top right respectively) 87(mid left mid right) and 135(bottom left bot mid bot right) let’s say you have 4, top mid will be your bot mid, with top right being on your left, and top left on your right due to rotation
Alternatively you start one spot anticlockwise and then count along an 8-pointed star pattern for each position down

to be honest this is huge info to me I always try to pop the reward without it reaching my board for that sweet illegal interest but had no idea how did it work or not. love you leduck much thanks :D

This is so in depth I actually had to check if it was still April Fools :)
I noticed that the tree at bottom right portal is visible from all angles, that one can be used to orient yourself easily so you dont have to cycle through all pics. Its bigger and overlaps with board a bit while others dont.
You can try walk around the carrousel and see how your character moved in the map. It might works.

Ahh I see, I knew that you could get interest on 1-2, but afaik there was never any option to get 10 gold before 1-2 so wasn't sure if there was interest programmed for before you even get to your board
even in yorick encounter that gives you 10 gold, you get interest, 10+2+1(interest)
There is an easier way to see where you are in relation to your board. If you watch the mini map VERY closely and issue a move command across the carousel you can see the movement line of your little legend, so you can see if you are moving to your board or away from it.
I think this only works on the PC version because it has movement lines, not sure if the mobile version has the lines. Correct me if im wrong.
Mobile doesn't have the minimap at all.
I feel that an easier way to see it or remember it is that if you are 8th you will always spawn in the middle left. 7th is in front. 6th is one to the left, and so on... Then you just need to compare your viewing point with the actual map and move to the place of your board. I know it sounds complicated anyway but it might be a way not to have to go and search for the cheat maps every time
I don't think your approach is wrong or complicated, but it feels better suited for competitive players. Just wanted to provide a shortcut for players wanting to try this out.

There’s a much easier way to do this. Look at the floor in the middle of the carousel. There are three rocks in a swirl, but there is a small one in the middle of one of the two pointing outwards. It always points toward the top middle position.
