Ashley Massaro’s time in the WWE may not have lasted very long but she made a huge impact during her time while she was there.
From 2005 to 2008 she was one of the most popular female performers
and at the height of her career even competed at Wrestlemania 23 for the Diva woman’s title in a lumber jill match against Melina.
Eight years after departing from the company, Ashley made headlines for far different reasons, as she testified under oath that she’d been sexually assaulted while working for company and claimed that she was told not to go public with her story.
She said that she suffered from severe depression and less than three years after making these allegations,
Ashley was found unresponsive in her Long Island, New York home by her 18 year old daughter. Later, she would be pronounced dead just ten days before her 40th birthday. She left behind many questions unanswered.
Before her death she was working as a radio DJ for Long Island station WWSK-FM / 94.3 The Shark , and was set to appear in a suicide prevention video as well as had a trip booked to las vegas with former diva Rochelle Loewen, who actually was already in vegas waiting for her and texting her asking where she was, but it was too late…
