I've known Tim since high school..I'm now '63... everything I know of fly casting is from what he's told me,.. what to do... he didn't show me much,.. he wanted me to figure it out and I have ... a person can show you everything,.. but until you actually achieve exactly what you were told,, you dont know ... when that time comes,.. you say to yourself,.. ok thats how it works.... and over the years, I remembered all that he's told me ..and used it to improve greatly..! Thanks Tim..!

Man I would love to get a couple of lessons from Tim. Seems super cool and like the pro he is that little back cast flaw was quickly pinpointed and the solution well explained.

Thanks for what you do, I haven't even started but this video has taught me a lot more than the 15 I watched before it. Since I have no experience my question is if you get a snag on a log or something what do you do,( I don't want to break an expensive rod)?

Nobody explains what the non rod holding hand is doing. Why are the tugging on the fly line when back casting?

The non rod hand is doing a double haul. This increases line speed and helps to bend the rod which give more casting efficiency. You can look on u-tube for instructional videos on the double haul.
