    Hey, I really enjoyed this video. It encourage me to keep going with my dreads. I been wanting dreads for about six years and did not have the courage to get them till now. I had some people who didn't want me to get them/have them. But I do have other supporters. One greatest supporter is my Husband. He has dreads and been having dreads for seven years. I am learning more about the dread life and learning to do them myself. I am going to wash it for the first time since I got them done. I got them done around the first week of October 2014. Thank You for the Inspiration.

    I was on a loc forum about how to start your own loc and they recommended this video... I've seen a few of your vids before but not this particular one...watching it just give me the best motivation to start my locs. Usually before I do something I watch multiple videos and yours is the ONE that just made me say F yeah I'm doing it... No looking back! Thank you!!!!

    Thank you so much for making your video. I just started my locs 2 months ago. I have also had my ups and downs. I started my husbands locs and his are almost down his back. I have been natural for about 2 yrs. Your ends look just like mines which gives me hope that I'm on the right track. Your locs are beautiful and you have truly bonded with your look. Peace.

    SO INSPIRATIONAL! I WISH I HAD STARTED WITH 2 STRAND TWISTS! A LOCTICIAN STARTED MINE W/COMB COILS & MY HAIR IS SUPER CURLY & SHRINKS WHEN WET SO MY LONG HAIR GOT TIGHT! 2 WKS LATER AFTER MY SHAMPOO, THEY UNRAVELED, HE PALM ROLLED RETWIST & THEN MY LENGTH SHOWED MUCH BETTER!! MY HAIR STAYS FUZZY NO MATTER WHAT & I DON'T LIKE THAT PART, BUT LOVIN' MY HAIR & SO GLAD I BEGAN MY LOC JOURNEY! U PLAYED A HUGE PART IN ME STARTING! I NOW SHAMPOO & RETWIST MY OWN HAIR! THEY ARE 5 MONTHS OLD ON 4/13/13!

    hey i started my dreads December 2011 and started with extensions as well. the pic on my page is when i started. the extensions do help with length. in my opinion it makes the locing process a little bit easier. just a little big. as the new growth comes in you just re twist your hair. i will be doing a video soon. after a year i will take the extensions out and let my hair grow out without it.. i am happy with my locs :D love them

    Im on my 2nd set of locs. My first set was Sister Loc's and had them for 15 years and I cut them last year thought I was tired of loc's!! Well.... now I miss them dearly and i have just started my new set with comb coil method. They now look like yours when you started and my concern is the thickness. This vid just gave me some hope! TFS

    I just want to suggest having a professional start off the locks off they will be more uniform. U can retight or have a friuend do to maintain them. Most lockticians do not recommend extentions at least not in the early stages b/c the locks need to settle in. Try some two strand twists to get a feel for the "look" of locks. Your hair may or may not look shorter depending on the texture . Good luck!!

    BTW, as far as the curly ends... KEEP THEM! They look cute. You just gotta let them loc. I cut mines off. I kinda miss them, but it's whatever. I think if you cut them, your locs will look shorter. Unless you wanna take that risk. But I've tried wax, I don't think it'll work out for me.

    i too started my locs a year ago, however just like you my hairs very soft,i had to pay close attention to strighter parts in my hair. i suggest you use a gel on those ends it holds better. then as your twisting use a locking wax. now lke i said my hairs very soft but the nothing i love more then the feel of it.

    @mzjackson83ful thanks girl =) When I first started my locs I used Organics Olive Oil Twist and Loc Gel. But I only used that because I used it to do my two strand twists in the past and it was just around. Now I use Organic Root Stimulator Loc and Twist Gel. I think twists would be good for that length. I think coils are harder to deal with when washing and stuff like that. Good luck!

    when you retwisted did you twist all the way down or did you leave the two strand twist part fuzzy for a more fuller look? asking because the regular way of locs when it's retwisted it looks like worms (no offense to anyone), but I like how yours always looked full never thin or wormy looking...?

  • @prettipoison27
    @prettipoison27  12 років тому

    @XavierKillJoy thank you. if you don't know where to start, you should do some research on the best way to start with your hair texture and length. I didn't have any extensions when I started my locking process. but your mom is right, your hair will shrink up. there are videos on youtube about loc extensions if you want to check those out. good luck =)

    Hey boo! Congrats! Lol.....this is what I think you should do, now that you have grown your own hair. When your money allows. Now is the time that you should seek out a lock salon. Go in and get shaped up ends trimmed and then go from there. Maybe twice a year , you might want to go and get prophessional mantiance . U are gorgeous. Be Blessed. By
