  • I am looking at the Nikon Zfc picture quality in this video. Nothing overly serious, just a close look at what it is producing. I will also be looking at the quality from an older, smaller camera, my phone and a Nikon D750 and my current, Nikon D850, out of interest.
Prints will also be made and checked out. I will say now I was very happy with all the A4 prints and would happily display or sell them.
Sit back, watch and listen, as I go through various images.
I want to promote this channel for those suffering from ME/CFS and Long Covid. My videos are perfect for these groups as they are easy to watch, unhurried, uncomplicated and relaxing. For those that don't know, these ailments cause brain fog, and concentration is difficult. Fast-moving images on the screen are hard to watch. Quick speech is hard to follow, especially when pauses are edited out. As an ME sufferer, I don't talk fast, move fast, and don't edit videos to try and make myself appear fast. PERFECT for ME/CFS LC sufferers.
Despite being very ill for over a year and now using a stick 50% of the time, this is still not an "Accessibility for the Disabled" Channel. Accessible means "ease of access". This channel was set up in response to the many channels with Photographers hiking for miles over rough ground or climbing mountains to get an epic shot. I simply want Photographers with less fitness or mild mobility issues OR mild ME/CFS LS to see that they can get out, take interesting pictures, and enjoy their hobby. I visit locations that are accessible to encourage the viewer to also visit and maybe get better images than I did. Where the locations are generic such as woodlands, then all I ask is viewers seek out their local woodlands to photograph within.

    Hi AP
I am now the proud owner of a zfc with a small rig grip after watching your videos about the camera. I shoot mainly in aperture priority and have managed to configure the front and rear command dials to change aperture and exposure compensation without using the top plate dials, for me it's just what I'm used to. Although the kit lenses that came with the camera are very good and produced good results, I'm sure better f 2.8 or f 1.8 prime lenses like the one you used in the lavender field will produce better image quality. I will be looking to add a couple of prime lenses in the future, when funds allow. Really enjoyed this video again, keep up the good work 👍

Great to hear you jumped in and bought the Zfc. I must have missed something in the manual regarding the function wheels. I can’t get the front one to do much at all, only works in picture view mode. I will look again.
I agree about the lens. It’s a good lens but yes the two other lenses I have do really well. They are prime though and I do like the zoom function. :-)
I am the same as you and will invest in lenses. When funds allow.
I am glad you liked the video and really appreciate you taking time to message me.

Hi. Yes you can. If you are talking about the F mount lens then an adaptor is needed. I got mine quite cheaply off MPB.
The Zfc will take any Z mount lens.

The Z fc has the same pixel density as the D500 & D850. It comes down to the glass you are using. The FTZ adaptor allows you to use all the F Mount glass. If you want fast Z lenses Viltrox and Laowa make some excellent lenses at reasonable prices.

Got the adaptor now. The big old glass can go on if I want it. It’s the weight issue for me still but I am slowly getting better and can handle the weight for a short while.
Laowa is on my list for new lenses. Really good and not expensive.

there is something about the zfc pictures .. there’s a pleasant softness … and i don’t mean they’re out of focus

Maybe it’s to be look closer to film than digital. I must say, the images shown in UA-cam don’t look as good as they do directly.

Your printer need to be calibrated.. the colours the shadows are all off .. not little off .. like OFF..

You are right. I was running off a generic print programme. Didn’t realise it. Will switch to the newer Mac and get the proper print programme. I can also get it calibrated to the paper.

Fujifilm XT30ii is much better and cheaper! Nikon has no ASP-C prime lenses. Less value for your money. 😢

Tried Fuji. Wasn’t happy with what I got out of it. I get your point though.
