- We started pulling up the rubber floor of our skoolie conversion and was shocked at what we found hiding underneath! This won't stop us from making a redneck RV for our family out of an old school bus. We also got a new boat to go with our RV and even took it to the lake for a test drive. Good catch on pulling up the rubber mats in the bus. Buses always need a total strip down before converting them to a utility vehicle. 😊

I got to go out on the lake kayaking with my dog we had such a fun time . She enjoys watching the big boats riding around the lake.
Her reaction is so sweet and settle as she wags her tail she loves the water .
We came home just in time for some thunderstorms we really need some rain .

That’s probably where water was standing when they washed the bus out! That’s where it stands in my bus! I just drive down the road with the windows down and the back door open!😂 I don’t want the mechanics fussing at me!😅! The reflective tape on the side of the bus is so the first responders can find you at night! Most people don’t even know, y’all!😂 Y’all are doing great! Awesome, boys! What a wonderful little boat! You probably know this, but I saw one guy working on his skoolie, and he scraped the rubber from the floor, ground off the rust, cleaned and dried the floor, then painted the floor with POR 15 rust inhibitor before adding the subfloor and vinyl flooring. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out! Glad Ransom got his boat. 😊

So glad you pulled up the existing flooring so you are able to truly see what is what, and tend to the rust before spending your time and money on the new floor. As my father would have said, if you’re not going to do it right, don’t do it at all! Can’t wait see you transform Big Yeller into your home away from home😁 and make memories for a long time, to last a life time. I want a boat like Ransom’s! Ransom, as you were zooming away with your boat. I was telling you, don't take it out of range! I had 1 ❤ ago and we had a pond to play o, so I was playing and not paying attention to how far it was. Well, I couldn't bring it back in. Good thing we had a paddle boat. My son and I got exercise in to retrieve the boat. Lots of fun!
I worked at a construction company and the guys would use auto "bondo" to fill dents in metal doors, then sand and have them painted. That would work great for the floor holes.
Love to see y'all working together! There is always a lot of work to be done on the farm, but always a lot of fun to be had too! The water was beautiful.
Add a small magnet on a string and see if you pick up any fishing lures with that boat.

Gary, use the heat gun that you used to remove the lettering from the bus, it's not as strong as the torch but it will soften the glue easily.

That’s a labor intensive process. Can’t wait to see it come together. A great family project with some pretty decent rewards once it’s ready to roll. Love the little boat. The kids are going to enjoy that !!!
For small quanties of screws we will want to re-use, we use bowls, cups, and assorted for storage containers; or baggies. For larger volumes we use a cleaned, plastic peanut butter cintainer ir reseslable plastic baggies.

The black lines reenforce the bus for protect on accidents
All I could think of was a hairdryer to soften the glue,not as hot as you have different heat settings than the heat torch. Hard job removing that rubber flooring. Ranger it is worth the hard work so you can really have fun on your birthday sleep out with your friends. It will be great when it is finally finished. Ranger you are growing up so quickly, the teenage years will be fun with hanging with your friends mixed with helping on the farm. 😊😊🚌

Cool boat. I'd consider a paint job, maybe bright neon green or orange so it's more visible in the water. That could be a project for Ranger and Ransom to work on together.

The old wheel well covers helps with noise.
What you have heard about the love on the bus is correct. I was a bus driver for 3 years while I went back to school in my 40's. During training, I was trained that info on the lines on the bus.

When I saw you trying to remove the runner mate with a screwdriver, I wanted to say get a large scrapper. I learned a lot watching my husband fix many things over the years. I just suggest a good bonding to seal the holes and paint the floor with a great rust paint after a good sanding. The bus is going to be great!

Use a power washer on the floors sweep out and use a big fan to dry it.

A little known fact is that the windshield is also an escape route. They are made to Nick out with a good kick.
Oh boy, I can talk about busses, passengers, safety, ADA, and DOT all day.
I have a degree in business with a good bit of logistics and a whole lot of DOT and ADA compliance.
I use to have a pug/Boston terrier that loved to watch fireworks. Our place was on the corner and all the neighbors would meet at the intersection and shoot them off. He'd sit in lap and watch them. None of my other dogs have ever enjoyed them. But then, he was a very special dog too.

The Camperbus... Buscamper... Bamper... is looking great. Before you spray primer on those little rust spots, you might want to use a wire brush to clean them up, then brush or spray on some rust converter. That will chemically halt any further rust in that spot.

If you have an oscillating tool take one of the old worn out blades and grind a knife edge and use that for the fine detailing
