Open questions. I have some questions: Given that it uses WIFI and there is a good WIFI signal where the camera would be mounted: 1) Can I mount the base station hardwired with Ethernet cable and place it where there is no WIFI signal and it would work? 2) How many cameras will 1 single base station support? 3) Can you use multiple base stations? 4) I have 3 buildings (4 sides each) connected via Cat 6E with a router in each building so that would be 12 cameras but a single Base station, Would that work?
Hello and thanks for a great review., I have (5) Nest cams and just bought (2) of the Eufy S3 Pros and Homebase to replace the NEST. On about 11/28/24 they activated the software update to allow 24/7 recording. It seems to work okay with one big exception. Unlike the nest cams where the recorded footage is available right away, the Eufy has a delay. If I go to the camera and look at recorded footage from around 5 minutes ago it is there but as you move up closer to real time around 3 minute mark I get an message that says "eufy is still in the process of encoded this video, come back in a few minutes". Or something to that effect. Kind of disappointing.
i have the older s3, the batteries get drained quickly in more trafficked areas and detection range is limited (around 15-20 feet) also it only records clips and most sometimes cuts off before it should (i have adjusted the settings the best i can). i don't have these cameras in the main detection areas i would like, i moved them to the back and sides of my house where there is less activity, they do offer great notifications and crispy video footage... i am hesitant to buy this new one, i heard they have increased the detection range, i would still only place it in less trafficked areas tho. i will wait and try to catch this on sale, the have crazy sales almost every few weeks.
@@ManShed i have set to max detection range and max sensitivity, need 2 cameras to cover my 30 foot deck. I have nest cam in middle of deck too that records 24/7, that is how i know the eufy cams don’t detect/record something. They are great when they work, crisp 4k video, awesome notification time and little cool down for notifications, nest cams have 10 minute cooldown before next notification. I will get this new cam and try it out, heard it has like 40 foot detection range, don’t really care about color night vision.
I have 12 Nest IQ indoor and outdoor cameras. Considering these S3 pros. Currently have 1 s340 can I like it because of the tracking like my nest cameras do. I question is would you switch Nest IQ for the S3 Pro?

Other Eufy users are reporting that there is the app but it is not working yet or it simply won't power the cameras as intended. Were you actually able to get the camera to record 24/7 ? The camera supports only 2.4G Wi-Fi and features 24/7 Snapshot to keep an eye on activities between motion-triggered events. The 24/7 recording or Wired Mode is currently in development and will be released soon, please stay tuned for update
I have 2 Eufy E330 Pro cameras and Homebase 380 and it records 24/7 recording along with highlighted event recordings. E330 Pro requrires 12v DC supply which you can provide using provided power adaptor (with 20 feet wire) or you can use any other source which can provide constatnt 12V DC like some lithium power bank. Claimed 4k video quality is not as good as 4k but it's ok to recognize someone if it's close to camera.

You can adjust the ditection distance in the eufy mobile app. Also create activity zones.

I’m in the uk have 4 of these. In direct sunlight however not enough charge and eventually they die. 100% not for the UK with our CRAP weather.
