(Time for my bad english) It would be cool, if this game had gamemodes. 1. Domination Every island have flags on it, if you want to win, you need to capture all of them with pawns, rooks, or bishops. When every flag is captured player needs to defence them for 10 turns, if you do - ez win. King is replaced with Emperor, which cannot be killled, or either bullied in every other way. Player can capture him to make his enemy's army weaker (idk how). 2. Economy Now there is 8 randomly placed farms on map, which gives points and there is a 50 turns. Goal is get the most points, like in domination, you can capture farms. You can win this game like in classic by simply check and mating your opponent king. 3. Deathmatch Now EVERYONE can be killed, goal is eliminate opponent team. You can't check and mate king. My english skills are awesome fr
I don't know how I feel about the RNG. Wouldn't having hidden information pieces be better? You could even tie the environmental effects to it. Have each player designate each environmental effect to one piece and have the effect happen when that piece is destroyed. The volcano can have a set pattern around the mountains, while the tornado has an effect around the designated piece. You could even have a storm effect around ships too.
I personally hate these additions. The reefs are obviously way to unfair, the volcanoes and tornadoes have no indication, and can easily kill a game. The reefs should just be obstacles in the game, and volcanoes should have a warning a turn before they activate, and tornadoes should have a turn warning and an indicator of their path (I get this wasn’t actual RNG in the vid but whatever)
Suggestion: If lava hits a water tile it should become a land tile. Suggestion #2: make a google document where people can comment ideas for a new variant, AND YOU MUST ANSWER ALL OF THEM
Make it be playeble on table top mode and make the players be able to take control of when and where the volcanoes and tornadoes struck regardless of what pieces is there, thus you might be able to have better strategy with them, same for the reefs and the other aquatic dangers, them moving constantly but not affecting the piece is it spawns under it in other way than delaying it for some turns
You should add a menu put the skin shop and a start button after you press it it says easy Medium or hard after that make bot mode and a Multiplayer mode and sandbox but you gotta but with your money or win 10 rounds on hard mode. You choose

I'd lose the land based ranged units, get rid of the random elements, get rid of the assassin, make navel units capturable by land units, so any land unit can capture it as if taking another land peice, but only wilst the naval unit is immediately adjacent to land. The land peice would ocupy the frigate tile once it has captured it, where it will stay until the next turn, where it must return to land or be lost to the sea. Whilst on a sea tile the land unit will be susceptible to attack from naval units as if it is a navel unit itself Id make frigates only 1 square in size and allow them to barage any one tile on land within a radius of 2 tiles around the ship, diagonally or square. Rooks would have the same barage ability only for them its AOE would be limited to sea tiles. Barage would consume 1turn like any other move. The frigate can now also behave like a rook and take other sea units The pirate now behaves like a queen, can take other sea units but has its land barage ability limited to a radius of 1 tile. Islands would be untraversable terrain for the sake of strategic navel play. The wizard woundnt exist. Every player starts the game with 2 pirates instead of 1. The transport boat no longer exists. The assassin & archer tiles now starts with monks, that can move 1 or 2 squares in any direction, can also negotiate mountainous terrain are uneffected by the shrubbery square, but cannot jump other peices on the board 🤔 Pawns may also now be under promoted to every new piece in addition to the traditional legacy peices apart from the king

Random is THE WORST thing you could have added to chess. The game is all about thinking and strategy. Everything was already done well in the secdond part, any more additions will only overcomplicate the game.
