I'm Trans and have been homeless for 3 years in California Chicago Denver and Nyc it's rough I'm glad you're in college that's a plus these shelter's are rough and have crappy rules
I only suggested adding homeless to your FAFSA, not to receive additional aid but ti ensure that you get the maximum. You can also check to see if there are emergency funds at your college. I don’t know how large your college is, but usually the largest colleges have more resources but they do run out fast.
Thanks, but no the college is not assisting me any further at this point. I had a meeting with the CARE team already. They offered the dorm and the shelter only. The Dorm will cost me $200 to apply for, which I don't have. The shelter is full and according to the school they have no left over funding and the TRIO program is full.
Maybe the local social service agency can help. Some help with housing, food stamp benefits, and general assistance. Local charities may be able to help. Maybe the local library can provide helpful information. 💖

How's your job search going in the larger cities you've been in? Plenty of open spots or no?

Thanks so much for your advice though!
Now I found the comment section. Nicole, maybe you can use your new work place as a mailing address, if they are okay with that.
