    I think this 2A meant to be the current which can draw maximum at any conversion. So for an example 12 to 24 conversion if you set the input current to 2A, 12Vx2A=24W and the output will be 24W/24A - (loss of the conversion) = less than 1A. So I hope it works as they specified.

    • @BingoBongoMan
      @BingoBongoMan 3 роки тому +1

      "...24W/24A..." I guess you meant 24W/24V (Volt not Amp)! Other than this I think the same. Test failed by 12 to 24 with 1.5A but got kind of better with 1A and passed with 0.5A, so if you calculate the inefficiency or as you say loss of conversion something between 0.5A and 1A should be in the advertised 2A max. in this case.

    Just calculated for module 2Amp maximum for input ( actually is too much) and depends how many times increase voltage with same times divide current on output from 2Amp. But keep in spare Calculate 1.7A in inlet. If want from 5V to make 10V 2 times output current 1A . If want from 5V to make 20V 4times output current -0,4-0,45A Better find other modull :)

    Seller explained and I followed his instructions and it worked, if you've spun it the wrong way 20 times it can 50 or 60 turns the other way to get it right, once you hit the sweet spot they work great. Seller does mix up counter clockwise and clockwise in the image but good product.

    Nice video! I appreciate how you showed that the chip got hot with high load as well as when using a large input/output voltage difference. The MT3608 is quite a powerful little chip, but one needs to understand the limitations of these modules. I killed one myself when making a 9V rechargeable Li-ion battery and then fixed the module by replacing the chip. On my channel you can find the videos I made about that. Perhaps you like to watch those...

    Now I understand that this module can only handle 1A of current, not even 2A. Or maybe yes, if the output voltage is very low at 3.3V and 2V input, bcs low voltage means higher current. Once the voltage higher, the current limit probably getting lower.

    remove the 100k trim pot and replace with a resistor of 39k and 50 k variable resistor with a knob.you will get a range of 10 volts to 22 volts.or 39k and 82k to get 10 volts to 27volts. or 39 k and 90 k to get 10 volts to 30 volts.

    • @robojax
      @robojax  Рік тому

      it is all about power P, voltage V and Current I. Now P=V*I, input V=5V, I=1.5V, P=5*1.5 = 7.5W and using for output this P=I*V we can find I=P÷V, P=7W because0.5W is wasted as heat. V=27V, I=P÷V= 7÷27=0.259A so yes you can get 250mA. Now remember it is all about power.

    • @robojax
      @robojax  4 роки тому

      see the test I have done. I am not sure what was the current. Also if you input source can't supply more power, the output will never do that. for example if you want 5V 800mA the Output power Po=5(0.8)=4W then the input power Pi=4(1.15)=4.6W (1.15 is 15% losses). So when your 3.5V, I=P÷V=4.6÷3.5=1.31A, are you supplying (at least) 1.31A to the module? Good luck.

      sorry I misread your question. This will never reduce the voltage lower than the input. So if you want to get always 3.3V, then you need to use buck-boost converter which does that. it will give you 3.3V with 2.8V and 4.2V. Or use two module, first use this to get output like 10V, then use 3.3V regulator to get 3.3V from the 10V. This way you will always have 3.3V.

      I don't remember the minimum voltage this module needs so watch it. if it is within equal or greater than minimum input voltage of the module, then yes. Keep in mind that the total power is that matters. for example if you have 2V and 12A P=2x12=24W so you input 2 watts. and this module can't add anything into power or watt. you may get 12V and 2 because 2x12=24W. this is ideal. converts have 10 to 15% losses. keep that in mind.

Works well. Bear in mind sound wattage is different to power wattage. I'm gonna stick a multimeter in the circuit to measure current and see what the load in real-terms is. I used an Imuto 20a/h powerbank.

    • @robojax
      @robojax  6 років тому

      What you are looking for is called amplifier. This is regulator and keeps the output fixed regardless of input voltage. Amplifier will have some gain factor for example x3 or x100 or x2.5 and whatever the input is, it will multiply it by the fact as longs as it is within the limit of the device.

    • @robojax
      @robojax  6 років тому

      Speaker amplifier is not suitable as the input and output are non linear, meaning the output doesn't follow the input in a straight line. it is more curved and you will not get desired result.
      How ever it is possible to convert or make one of these modules to your application using arduino. But you would try different module and find the right one. Using Arduino you will read the pedal voltage, and correctly send signal to the potentiometer point of the voltage regulator and will act as if you rotate the potentiometer and the output voltage is changed.
