You can shut it off. No tazer needed.
Sit in car, close your door and buckle your seatbelt. Put the car in run and unbuckle the seatbelt 3 times (u start buckled and end buckled). Turn car to off.
You should be good. The warning is still in the dash but the chime is off. I did this since I put stuff on my passenger seat and it would go off. Case of beer, dog, etc.
