actually there were already a few bands who performed on killing voice before but Day6 was the first one to ever perform with actual live instruments. They are the nation's band after all.
Hm...You're right but as you said not with their instruments :) I didn't think they would which made it even cooler. More of that hopefully in the future.
@@Portiayuu Yes, this proves that it works :) I'll be reacting to Killing Voice every Tuesday, but maybe not always coming out the same time. Can't wait for more.
Right, they used to be 6 member group at their debut. One person left earlier on their career (around 2015/2016), and another person left at the end of 2021. So now they just 4 member group
AH, I didn't know someone left so early :O Thanks for that info. Sometimes K-pop groups can have a messy member history. Anyway, really enjoyed and thanks for watching :)
12:50 They actually released Zombie during the lockdown in 2020! They didn't specifically write it for that period because they wrote it way before, but it was so fitting they released it at a time a lot of us felt that way. Definitely recommend reacting to the music video!
Actually JYP didn't prepared a band group so they were also practice dance, acrobatics like other JYP trainees. Even 2 members were considered as a dance group team but it's turned to a band project. Surprisingly some of them started to learn instrument from then. And now they are the highest debut charting group and the first full tracks chart-in group in JYP on Korean mainstream music chart.
Wow, really? Then they learned quickly their instruments :O Very impressive indeed. So that's why I always felt Day6 was a bit different for jyp. Thank you for the clarification
@@Soshiworld0805 Only one of them technically did not play an instrument at all. The other 3 already play pre-debut. Then they recruited 2 more who were already instrumentalists - the lead guitarist who was supposed to be a solo act, and the drummer was specifically recruited for the drummer position. The original keyboardist left, then the lead guitarist last year.
@@Soshiworld0805 Only Sungjin did not play any instrument at all prior to day6. All of them minus Dowoon (the drummer) and Jae (Ex guitarist member) were normal idol trainees although Dowoon and Jae still did the basic idol training for a very short time but it wasn't as extensive as the other members did. Sungjin however was bad at dancing even though it's been years already since he started training. Normally, companies would already remove the trainee from the company if they're not showing any progress but Sungjin apparently had this already beautiful voice that jyp did not want to lose him just because of his dancing so they decided to make an acoustic band just for him called 5live. They then took a few members from the dancing team (Young k the bassist and Wonpil the keyboardist) I'm not sure about Junhyuk btw since he left in 2016 so I had not much knowledge about him. Jae was in a popular survival show before called Kpop Star in which JYP was a judge. He placed 6th in that competition hence how he got a contract with JYP and came in as part of the band already and not an idol trainee. Now they have 5 members for 5live, since it was an acoustic band and Sungjin did not know how to play instruments at all so he started with the Cajon. Later on as they progressed, jyp decided to make them a proper rock band so they needed a drummer. Dowoon was a normal music college student back then and his drummer teacher encouraged him to try the audition JYP was doing since they were looking for a drummer. He passed the audition and only trained for 3 months. Sungjin then learned the acoustic and electric guitar after Dowoon came. Wonpil's parents run a piano academy so he already knew playing it from before. Young K played guitar prior to 5live so he was assigned to be the guitarist of the group but after Jae came in to the company, Jae had to take over his position since Jae was the better guitarist and so Young K had to learn the bass from scratch.
4:20 the english title song is ONLY, it is a b-side track from The book of us : Negentropy [2021]. They sang this song for the first time on their christmas concert last year (december 2023), so that's why he mention 'christmas' in video. You should watch the live performance because Myday (day6 fan) sing along with the boys. I hope your enjoy listen their song and watch any live perfomance from them.
