I have a Furch GUITAR and want to remove the threaded metal endpin insert but the video doesn't show how it was done. Can anyone suggest how it can be done?
Hi Morgan, it is me, Aspe Guitars. Unfortunately I don´t have a clue how to enter my own UA-cam canal anymore, so I will start a new cannel to continue uploading videos. Anyways, the answer to your question is: have you tried it with and ordinary Philips head screwdriver yet? When the center screw (just on the outside of the pin) is loosened, you should be able to gently pull out te pin. However, it rarely occurs that the whole thing remains stuck. In that case, try to reach on the inside of the guitar for a small counterscrew to prevent it from free moving with the mentioned outer screw. Sometimes it can be holded with the bare fingers, if not, try some fine pliers. Last option requieres more experience, since you won´t feel that good what your doing. Patience will be needed. Many times a bit of (controlled!) violence will do the job when it comes to pulling the pin out. A special "knob-puller" is just made for the job, but you can improvise your own tool for it. Beware of lifting wood and causing splintering around the edges. Good luck! Cheers, Jasper (Aspe Guitars)
Thank you Jasper, I really appreciate your help. I undid the screw as you suggested and pushed the insert inwards - guess what! It just fell out! I suppose I was being too careful before with this beautiful guitar. Thank you again - John
I lost access to this account, but made a new one. Have a look at the first video on the actual Aspe Guitars account: ua-cam.com/video/8b-y-HFo07c/v-deo.html
Nice work on that one Jasper!
Thanks! The thumbnail just caught me with the remote control in my right hand, surreptitious zooming out.

May I ask what's the amp at the end of the video?
That question is not allowed! (apparently)
