I love this umm candi is now mrs.russo at my high school she is a really great vocal teacher n has taught me a lot since she started teaching me she gave me a lot of advice from her experience as a pop star

I had a crush on Candi when I was in High School in Toronto in the early 90s.. She had a great voice and I love her music. You don't get music like this anymore.

My father went to the state's during the 80s and 90s and bought a cassette and a Vinil of this great singer, when I was a kid it was so natural for me to listen to her and whitin the years I notice that I am the only one in Chile (South America) who has those jewels of album and it's a golden treasure in my collection from the 80s, and I must confess that she is so cute as well, what a great girl! Sorry for my English, I hope you could understand my point, greetings 😊

Well they do a thing at Christmas still, but yeah, I think it should be illegal to call yourself Much Music and not play music.

my dad produced this album/wrote a couple songs on it.. he is also the bongo player in this video haha

Truly an underrated singer. All of her songs were yummy. I listened to and sang her songs over and over but I can't sing as well as her.
Back when MuchMusic actually played music videos and they were still 😎, I miss those days.
Candi was my vocal music teacher in high school grade 9-11. That was back in 2008. She really taught me how to perfect my vocals, range and breathing techniques. She's really passionate about music and singing.
Wow how lucky you are to have had her as your teacher. I loved her songs and videos in the late 80's.
When I heard this in 1988 I thought this was Madonna. It's as good as anything Madonna ever produced.

.did not much care for her back in the day...but her videos got alot of airplay on Much Music..ONLY NOW am I truly appreciating her and her talent..great voice and even though I did not realize it back in the day, her songs are really good and catchy.

OMG! I used to be insane about this song!!! I loved it so much back in 1988 and still do! Another great song that makes me feel happy! It's also fun to dance and sing along with it! I've heard that she retired from singing and is now a music teacher in either Canada or New York. I can't remember which?!

This came out in 1988. Too bad I was only a little kid (4 years of age) when this came out. I wish I could have been a teenager in the 1980s and a young adult in the 1990s.

I was 17 in TORONTO when i heard tis song on 1050 chum am station..yes being a teenager in the 80s was fun. And 90s was great for dance and house music in the clubs

I can't believe it,There is this girl that lives in my building she goes to high school where Candi is now a teacher there.I ask her if it's true that the singer Candi is now a teacher at your school? she said yes.I told her I grew up listening to her when I was a kid and through High School.She ask me if you like I can get you her Autograph.Guess what after all these years today I got that autograph.Now I just need a picture frame to put it in.Now only if I can go to that school and meet her.

She just got into teacher's college just the next year I believe she did the second release of her next song. She was getting into being a math teacher back then in Toronto. Just to see she did follow through with her teaching career.

Not sure about Canada but in some countries ridiculous outfits were a tax write off as was the case for ABBA in Sweden. In this case i think it was just for show. Candi was a regular jeans and t-shirt girl as shown in this video.

@joshwearetheworld I am 46 ( living in Montreal) this is the music I listened to back in the 80s... the 80s were a blast and the music was fun..give my best to Candi ( Mrs Russo) and tell her 'thanks' for the fun music she gave to us way back when..and we still appreciate & enjoy today.. :-)

I saw a cassette of this album on sale today and decided to buy it blindly. I had a feeling it would be good because it looked good, and damn, I was right! This song is incredible! Can't wait to listen to the whole album soon! :)))

Oh I tried soooo hard to get that outfit and my mom worked hard to get me something similar and let me be a kid in spite of my strictly religious father. I was 10 and she was everything I wanted to be - confident, fun and full of energy. Hmm, I still don't have any energy or confidence but maybe I should just put this song on.

Sadly, she moved to basils. We miss her at jcm, she was a really good teacher.
I have to ask, what is she like these days ? I remember having a bit of a crush on her when I was a kid, about 9 or 10 haha!! My mom used to listen to her a lot during this era. She was gonna take me to see her play at Canada's Wonderland but we didn't end up going for some reason.
Which school does she teach at?
Rebecca was just a nice ordinary girl that happened to win a competition that thrust her into the spotlight. Had she written and produced that song I'm sure she'd be deserving of more positive opinions. Candi and her team worked hard to get where they were.
And really, when it comes down to it - anyone who rises above the ordinary deserves more respect, and fewer dislikes. :-)
