~$15 shipped to Calif. Thank you for the tip! (Ironically that's the same thing the doctor said after my circumcision. I may have shared to much. Please disregard)
I got one of these for £10 shipped. It worked great reflowing a PCB with low-temp solder paste. I haven't tried to use it to do any de-soldering of high-temp lead-free solder but I think it would work fine for that too. For the price you really can't go wrong. Just don't throw away the manual as it's pretty hard to use without it.
@@thelaughingman3443 the listing I ordered from has it listed as "G3061 PD65W Mini hot plate..." It looks like it's still available. I would link it but UA-cam doesn't like URLs in comments.
I should have waited for this one instead of the mhp30 which I bought for any occasion where you need a small heat plate, but never really used it.. For my needs this would be perfect.
Thank you for the video! I didn't imagine this beeing this small, i wonder how small is the more expensive one. I would like to recreate this plate and add some leds and more settings but i cannot find a schematic:)))
whats the max temp on this? Have you been able to remove parts from pcbs with large ground planes? For the price and what it can do seems very nice. Is there a github or a link to where you can find the specs? Maybe the 3d file for the case if you wanted to print it in a different color.
Hello, the temperature sensor in my device came loose, which I have repaired. However, the springs of the contact pins broke after about 3 hours of use at 150°C. Unfortunately, there was a short circuit in the connection to the heating plate. Now the display only shows 5V instead of 20V, and only if the power supply plug is in a specific position. Is the issue likely with the power supply or the heating plate?
I bought one. What are you using for power suppply? I used 5v but temperature stopped at 66 degrees after 1 hour of heating. The current drawn is 0,8A Did I something wrong?

Uncle's joke, Jewish version. ;-)
I got one of those a while ago. Works fine for small projects and is definitely worth the money.

Do you happen to have the listed name and description for it

@@thelaughingman3443 I ordered it from AliExpress
Pogo pin part is cool. Thanks.
Cool! Bought one to work on Gameboy Color cartridge PCBs, looks like the perfect size, got it for £6 on Aliexpress which is insane
Thanks man, I just ordered mine. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
Nice! Is it possible to program some reflow curves there? Also curious, What kind of camera/recording setup are you using?
With a custom firmware curves would be possible.
The camera is just a Samsung S22 Ultra laying on a light
No in the current state. But community firmware or PCB is just a matter of time :)
It's a shame it seems it can't be programmed from the USB-C. They should havr put tx, rx on SBU pins and not behind 12 screws. :)
For me its 14 euros with free shipping currently which is really damn cool for something like this. Im probably going to order one in the near future.
Ain't 220C a lil bit to low temperature for reworking? I would think about 300C will do the trick even on unlead solder.

There is now MHP50

good find. There is an open source one also. Forget the name. It has a bigger plate.
Where? Can you give me the link?
Do you have a link?
i too am interested
Which one?
It doesn’t have bigger plate and is probably not worth the hassle. Google the thing, links dont work here.

Just picked one up from Ali on offer for £6
Would like to see If I can increase plate size etc, why not for the price its at for the moment :)
Oled screen maybe better mounted at least inclined...
what about reflow curves ? programs ?
I'm actually a little impressed.
What's the heating element?
Just some resistive PCB?
Yes some Aluminium Heating PCB
Can you tell something about the PID menu??
Why was my comment deleted? I shared the orinal open source one to you guys.
Did not delete anything :) . Maybe recomment but with some space between .com in the link!?
I tried many times... even not mentioned any website 😣@@atc1441
UA-cam has an overzealous spam filter.
May be youtube disliking links.
Will it work on a 6-layer PCB?

You need a 65W USB C PD power supply.
Like as for a Laptop
Nice device but mine keeps resetting 🙁
Sounds like your powersupply is not giving enough current
@@atc1441 Indeed it was an issue when powering it from my monitor
You need a 65 W PD adapter (20.0 V, 3.25 A) - with a USB type-C plug.
How do i power it without buying a 65W USB C charger thats more expensive than the thing?
Newer Laptops are charged via USB-C so thats my source of cheap power supplies
Amazon has 65w USB-C GaN chargers for $10
Grappig 😊
Got mine a good while ago, but one of the buttons is broken so cant make use of it
You need another mini hot plate, to repair your mini hot plate. 😜
Mine was stuck too. I removed same switch from Wemos D1 mini using hot air.
