- In todays episode we purposely missplace my nexus. We missplace it more the more we win.

I found out for the boys. Normally with 16 workers, it's 950. one hex off is 900, two hex 850, three hex 790, four hex around the same as three... then I gave up.
Well done captain
FOR SCIENCE!!!
Did you go only in one direction? Because I think if you go two to the side, and two up/down like Harstem it seems like going 3 horizontally (two times square root of two is 2.82).
Thank you for your service for knowledge
Because.... #Math
@@Maarrk Only one direction yes :)
This continuous giggling over the thought of misplacing a building by 1 hex is something I didn't know I was missing in my life.
I couldn't stop laughing in the third game when the red guy started talking. He seemed absolutely convinced that this was part of some terrifying new kind of cheese strategy 😂
"Im gonnq keep playing until I lose a game"
52 minutes long video
I've got strong hopes for the later games.
proceeds to lose repeatedly
"This guy's gonna think I'm an idiot... Oh no, I forgot my second pylon I AM AN IDIOT!"... #QuotableHarstem
Beating pro players with stupid stuff.
Yeah, but he's off-race.
Yeah, but I'm off-centered.
23:24 That was the biggest disruptor shot i've seen in my whole life !
Reminds me of an olddd Husky Starcraft video.. where he flew his CC 5 or 6 tiles back and tried to win like that. Kinda funny when you see 7 scv's on 1 gas. He won by the way.. lol
harstem you're my new fav sc2 guy to watch, because you're really good, knowledgeable, but most important your manner of speaking is very laid back!
Great video. Very fun. It's neat how you included the lego art. I used to love playing with Lego
hey harstem i dont even play starcraft 2 but i somehow discovered your channel and really enjoy what youre making here. appreciate you brother,-from usa
Okay, I have a challenge based on this one :)
You are not allowed to build ANY structures on existing bases. So if you need pilons/gateways/whatever you need to proxy them/build on your next taken base but when you place nexus there you can't build structures there anymore. If this is too hard you can loosen it a bit and are allowed to rebuild what enemy destroys.
This is the best shit posting starcraft 2 content one can find. I love you, Harstem. Thank you for this series
Stupid stuff ideas:
1.) All buildings you construct must be in pairs or more, and built next to each other (including Nexus when you expand). Buildings must be constructed back to back, so it must be "pylon->pylon->gateway->gateway" rather than "pylon->gateway->pylon->gateway"
2.) You can only mine from one gas geyser the whole game
BGMWSS: Trick opponent into thinking you're going 4 gate, but actually it's proxy robo.
You're only allowed to use 2 warp ins from your 4 gate
"We're not gonna pull out, boys!"
-Harstem 2020
37:00 Rocks moved when you place CC on your naturals lol)
New challenge. Roll a 6 sided die each time you want to expand and each number represents how many hexes left, right, up or down of the optimal mineral patch you have to place off. Roll a 6 and you get to place it at optimal. :D
New idea: all tech structures and unit production must be built outside of your main/natural (not as a wall either) basically only batteries/cannons/nexus/pylons in the main and natural
23:20 nice shot!
I have a suggestion, a different variant of protoss mech utilizing immortals and colosus as the main army and minimal stargate for support. No Gateway units aside from first 3 units for early game defense.
What about this one.
Challenge: You cannot build anything army wise or buildings wise - before you are floating 100 minerals or more(you choose a start point). Probes are allowed to build any time. For example, in case you want to build a pylon, you need 200 minerals etc. Any win you add 50 or 100 more to a start point.
12:19 “I wonder what he thinks when he sees this with his SCV, guys. Like, ‘Jeez, this guy is an idiot.’ ... I forgot my second pylon! I _am_ an idiot!”
That disrupter hit at 23:22 uhh ooops 😱
Man, could you add a thing where we can see the keyboard inputs you do? It'd be interesting to see all of them
Loving this series, good stuff!
Here's silly suggestion based on BW for the series.
No control groups larger than 12 units, no rallying base to resources, and only make units that were also in BW maybe?
LOL In the last game the nexus in the natural was so far off I thought it was part of the wall 🤣
quote of the day
"no pulling out ever" - harstem
How about this one:
When you harass your opponent it may only be with probes that attack. You can even build a prism and take in a couple of probes into his main or natural just to harass him. And in every army you attack with, at least have 2/3 probes as well.
From your South African fan!
Consider doing a no rush 20min at the beginning of every game, announce nr 20, and play it out like that whether they do or not.
It's amazing to me that you didn't realize that building it off by 2 hexes in both directions is so much worse then doing it by 2 in just 1 direction. 🤣
Kev, what about some games with build orders from 2011? (forge expand vs zerg...)
Win enough games and your natural nexus will be part of the wall...
@harstem '' no pulling out'' is what she said :') :')
-400/-400 @49:10
This seems like an effective way to impose a handicap.
"that's one of his moves" lmao
Build 2 nexus per base next time and shield batteries so you can super battery
Harstem missplacing nexi vs a zerg using microbial shroud. But who is the real troll here?
This is so funny I love it
How did you wrap in so fast at the end of the first game. P is an off race for me but I never warp in that fast
search rapid fire hotkey setup sc2
I have another stupid strategy for you to tryout but it might be too much to handle. The thing is, misplacing the nexus is cool but not that obvious as having 2 Nexus. I challenge you to have 2 nexuses on the same mineral patch. One for each gas. (So.. it would be cool to have 2 nexuses in your natural, 3 nexuses at the 3rd mineral patch etc.) That would be really Stupid but hilarious.
If is too hard, try it only on your third base.
Haha just saw the title, this is amazing

i wish serral would do this at esl .... so it would get watchable again
Harstem is so fucking funny
I’m just in the comments to see all the irritated OCD people
Who ever ever could dislike this video?
1 dislike.
SHAME SHAME SHAME
The guy who lost. Then watched the replay. Then found his game memed to him by his friends. He also fogot to gg
Now we know Harstem is a true Protoss player. He forgot his second pylon.
i literally forget it 1/3 of my games and i hate that :D
“Hes gonna think im an idiot. I forgot my second pylon. I am an idiot!”
Twenty-one Pylon,
Where's your second Pylon,
You need a second Pylon,
BUILD A FUCKING PYLON
Don't need a second pylon (at 23 supply) if you open nexus first :)
*Builds Nexus in the correct location*
"Oh, I built it in the wrong location!"
imagine if the opponent watched the replay and saw him cancelling the correctly placed nexus and rebuilding it a hex off^^
I wonder what Denver was thinking when he forced the cancel on Harstem's fourth, then he proceeded to misplace it right in front of his face...
Most famouse sentance this video: "He must think im just such an idiot" -Harstem
Immediately followed by “i am such an idiot”
@@BK557SC so true xD
Challenge: Beat Grandmasters with a Macro Nexus in main.
Yes I love the idea of macro Nexi, as well as offensive proxy Nexi for recalls. Maybe the challenge could be for each Nexus you build to expand, you have to build another for either Macro or offensive proxy. It'd be hilarious
Put one in your wall too for good measure
Play, but every time you want to warp units in, you have to type the first letter in chat. ZSA=zealot stalker adept. Advanced: if its too easy, buildings. If two names are interchangeable, you must type first two letters Caps, then lowercase.
Barcode Zerg: "I'm going to do a roach rush on your natural and destroy his economy"
Harstem: "I have no economy to destroy, therefore I win"
At 37:00 the rocks shift upwards when he places his cyber core.
awimachinegun happens all the time... no idea why...
Harstem earthbender confirmed
Two things. 1) this is the most wholesome BM I have ever seen. 2) "I wonder what he is thinking" my opponent is drunk.
This was my favorite challenge yet! I have a few ideas based around buildings that this gave me, some are much much harder than others.
1) Each building can only be powered by a single pylon. Artosis bases.
2) Every base needs a wall off.
3) 3rd before 2nd. You must take your 3rd base location before you take your natural.
4) Pylons OR creep, you must have every pylon "powered' by another pylon. That way new pylons can only be placed next to each other.
I also had that idea of the "pylons must power each new pylon" too, but I think it'd be very easy on its own. So I call it the "Simcity" challenge: first pylon must be in range of the first nexus, then every additional pylon in range of another pylon, and then any additional nexus must be in range of an already built pylon. Also Harstem has to take alteast three bases or the game doesn't count as a win, if he wins.
1) each pylon can only be built inside another pylon's field.
2) you can only build a nexus inside one of your pylons' field
3) you can only attack structures which are inside one of your pylons' field
4) if the pylon chain to your starting position is broken, it must be repaired immediately
In order to attack the enemy, you must build a "pylon highway" from your base to theirs
I'm excited this is gonna be good...
What a Wonderful corner of the internet we have found ourselves in.

"Everytime I see red I"m like, oh I need to pull stuff out. No pulling out here boys, we keep em in"
This is some really good stuff chief I laughed out loud multiple times haha what a challenge!
Bunker countered. Misplaced nexus op
I can see why it ended since its 52 minutes long but now we need to see you do 3 hex away. We need misplacing nexus pt.2.
“Oh no he’s ALSO been doing drugs”
"Microbial shroud is also called the 'storm here zone.'"
i love this man
his opponent might be playing “beating grand master with stupid stuff(microbial shroud)” as well
Challenge: Pretend like you are playing brood war.
storm drops
reaver (disruptor) drops
carrier rush vs Terran
corsair reaver (phoenix for hunting overlords, disruptor) or corsair dt vs zerg
No adepts, collosi, immortals, tempest, void ray, oracle allowed
2:35 imagine his opponent studying the reply and seeing that moment
Probe movement speed is 3.94. With some trig, since most of the probes are crossing each hex at an angle, and they have to go both ways, and averaging across maps, is 2.915 hexes. Since the dropoff & mine times aren't affected, it's just the travel time impact. SO: an extra 0.74 seconds per probe works out to about 47.4 minerals per second less, per extra hex off. Lines up nicely with what Brock Watson found empirically. Gas mining is affected differently and harder to calculate because the angle of travel goes from being near-perpendicular with minor losses on the 3rd probe to angled, but with less lost-gathering time because the "3rd" worker isn't interrupted like standard locations. I will leave that math as an exercise for the reader.
I thought ive been genuinely enjoying your content for about a year and now ive come to find out you've just been clickbaiting me the whole time?!
I cant be mad, I already clicked...
Brilliant, one of my favourite so far. Love these challenges where it's obvious to the opponent they are being trolled.
YOLO challenge: Once an army/unit of yours leaves your base, it must kill the opponent or die trying. No retreating from engagements, no backward blinks, and no backwards prism micro.
From all the things that hurt my eyes in this video, the double 's' in the word misplaced in the title hurt the most
He's going with the theme
Next challenge build every tech building twice I always feel like and idiot when I do this so i guess it would be a nice challenge
This is finally such a ridiculous brilliant idea. Love it! xD
I am also happy to see that you have more and more subscribers. You've earned it. Great content!
"it's okay, I forget things all the time.... WAIT I DIDN'T BUILD IT IN THE WRONG LOCATION!"
Next time you have to kill your main base Nexus and missplace it too
Why are you not warping in with the pylon near his base?
this is true big brain stuff though.
when you put the nexus further away, then more probes can be mining before it's saturated.
more probes = more economy
GG EZ no re
Brilliant vid as always Kev, so enjoyable watching you having fun with these.
(was a bit early for me to enjoy watching with my dinner though...)
Finally an excuse to put 30 probes on mins
Challenge: Have to click everything. Can't use hotkeys
BGMWSS: All production is in main only
Suggestion: Send half of your probes at the beginning of the game to attack the opponent. Micro your heart out!!
AHHAAHAH
@Harstem you miSSpelled the title. Unless you place your base on a miss ;-) It's misplaced with one S.
I love how much joy you get out of something so simple yet goofy. This is why we're here
"Ohh, I need to pull some stuff out, you know? ... No pullin' out here boys"
- Harstem
Challenge: use a nexus as part of your wall off at the natural. Use it for chronoboost energy or shield overcharge, and make extra probes as necessary....use it as see fit, but must go down before 3rd base. Bonus points if you put it down before 2nd base.
This stuff reminds me of good old Funday Mondays. I miss Day Jay's laugh.
Tested mineral mining per probe approximately on 'Golden wall': Results
0 hex off (normal mining): 56.8 minerals a minute per drone (100%)
1 hex off: 54.3 minerals a minute per drone (95.6%)
2 hex off: 47.8 minerals a minute per drone (84.2%)
3 hex off: 45.1 minerals a minute per drone (79.5%)
4 hex off: 41.4 minerals a minute per drone (72.9%)
Always expand at least one set of mineral patches away from any of your existing bases. Get up to three base at least before killing your opponent.
39:26 the moment Harstem's subconscious was done with this challenge
Challenge:. Beat an opponent without attacking until you have at least one of every unit in your army.
Kevin your hand looks deformed in the thumbnail, your finger is sticking out horizontally and the other fingers are just missing. How do you play Starcraft with such a deformity
Ideas for future , some of them are stupid , but that's point , right?
1. Build nexus at 2nd base in a wall position and long distance mine from it
2. Never attack opponents not even harrasment
3. Hero colossus , you aren't allowed to attack if your colossus has less than : 50 kills vs Zerg , 25 vs Terran , 12 vs protoss. You can have 1 colossus and build only zealots for anti ground and pheonix for anti air.
4. Zerg specific , pretend creep is Lava and that you can only go on creep with air units.
5. You are allowed to kill workers and buildings on attack only. I mean A moving is not allowed but units will do that eventually so don't be hard on yourself.
6. Before attacking you need to have at least 1 of all units type in amry , excluding mothership , can add that one if you want.
7. You must execute all units which have took HP damage , no weaklings allowed.
8. Pokeball challange , You can't attack to kill your opponent before your 3rd base. Only harrasment option is disruptor.
re The win at the end.. 5930 is not 6.3k? Who did he think believe the opponent was? Why did he think so?
Still, 5930 is Grand Master level, at least, and Harstem beat him with Stupid Off location Nexi! =D
I think the click bait joke was cute and more than worth it.
Suggestion: Tower defense. You are only allowed to build buildings adjacent (wall-to-wall) to other buildings. (Nexus and assimilators are exempted from this rule.)
Goed bezig! =) Inspired by your third/fourth nexus I propose a challenge: double every building! For each structure you must always order 2 simultaneously and (ideally) place them next to each other. XD
BGWSS suggestions:
All the micro: Units with some form of active ability only. That means no colossus or archons, but zealots, stalkers and high templars are allowed. Optional hard mode: For units whose abilities need to be researched (like blink for stalkers), only use the unit after its ability is researched.
Disruptor only: Try to only build and use disruptors. Using warp prisms for transport is allowed. Building a minimum of other units is allowed to survive early game, but after that, only disruptors.
Stupid Stuff Suggestions:
1. Every building requiring a pylon must have two before it can be placed. (Will completely mess up early game build orders)
2. Each pylon is allowed to power only one building.
Really good one, was hoping it will not slow down so much mining :D please play again wrong race, right build order, best one for me.
Listen I was thinking you should also play this:
1. Every expansion you can either use for mining minerals or gas only. Cant be both except main base.
2. One base all Ins forbidden
Could be really funny when your opponent does a drop or run by realizing why he is he mining only gas and manage to kill 2-3 workers instead of 5-10 :D On the other can realize it is some kind of challenge
Hey Harstem, I got a thought. Why not play protoss as if you are another race. All building placement has to correlate with terran or zerg building placement. Here is the catch if you pick zerg/terran as your choice then you must play as if you are that race. Zealots - zerglings marines - adepts etc. Creativity allowed. Thought you might like it.
Thanks for the videos and good humor.
Love your videos.
What about an all unit challenge?
Once you start a push/attack, you have to have every protoss unit in that army at least once. (Including 1 probe)
If it turns out to be too hard, then you may ignore the mothership ;)
