If the modern BM scene wasn’t so sensitive, GBK would be considered one of the greatest of all time in the genre as a whole.

For American black metal it does not get any better than Grand Belial’s Key, the same can be said about black metal in general. Their formula for riffs, lyrics and imagery is unmatched and top notch.

Godkiller - Rebirth of The Middle Ages is another great "medieval" ish black metal album. There are few who do that stuff without sounding corny as fuck.

I joined the party late, my first listen was Judeobeast Assassination in 2003 2 years after it came out. Hooked ever since, Mocking the Philanthropists is their most solid work. Love this band, their riffs are catchy AF.

all their album artwork is from an illustrated bible aimed for kids, with just added black marker. i like that style too.
I have got that Split on vinyl. Great split and very difficult to find nowadays... excellent black metal...

There's many sites that have the disc, if that's what you're looking for, but I'd get it from Northern Heritage Records. €5 for up to four discs. I don't know about the LP availability.

This demo never gets old. Lord Vlad Luciferian was a special era for GBK honestly. I love the Cazz Grant stuff, but Vlad Luciferian has something special.

Makes you think he almost broke up a promising band. You do have to admit that this era was special even tho the cazz Grant days were the best era for GBK

@@Furio666 the first album Svartalvheim is pretty good but the 2nd album The Cainian Chronicle is one of my favorite black metal albums. The 3rd album Mad Grandiose Bloodfiends is considered too weird for alot of people but i enjoy it. They're all pretty good really.
