Takes me back to my "replenishment at sea" days in the Med during the 60's. We would be steaming at around maybe 10 knots and a variety of ships would come alongside to receive stores, it was enjoyable to watch as I was a "duty electrician" and rarely needed for anything so watching was the name of the game. I remember off of Crete one time the water was so clear you could see the bottom of the ship alongside (at the bow). Watching carriers and cruisers coming up alongside was a beautiful sight I'll never forget.
How many day take to make a sts operation for example to fill a VLCC tanker, and How much cost the operation (of course a estimation or a range of costs)

Did both vessels start drifting till completion of cargo operation, once tied up together or you manoeuvre the ship till the end.
