I drove from Sydney to Perth last year and every town i left behind me on the way i would have this album blasting it out , just me , the Doors and the road. Felt so free. 4 days it took me and was an unbelievable experience.

Watching this on a very small dose of mushrooms but with a heavy anxiety feeling over me, soon as riders bassline kicked in all was forgotten, cosmic sounds

Out of all the album covers of them, this one IS MY FAVORITE!!! It's just them. No fx, no weirdness, the 4 men in that photo were just normal looking guys, but their efforts put together made them look majical , mystical. And made them all equal, compared to the first album.

Timeless ageless music holds no boundaries……I love to write poetry myself…never to compare myself to this man…..This song has been one of my fave American classics for years ! When I was younger partying times to my older yrs yrs sober self.
Poetry holds no bounds or ages,to enjoy.Jim, I truly believed that if your alcoholism had got into sobriety space, just doing psychedelics here and there…..and if you truly hated Pamela’s dance with heroin…told her it not being violent and crazy w her …..but I’m painting a new picture that never was painted, right?
Left her, staying with your buddies particularly Ray you were best friends with!
Then I believe in the theory things happen for a reason.
They turned toxic and some could say, black Wiccan arts ,that day back then at The London Fog ….you met ….Miss Pamela Courson.
Who, some say,was the BELLADONNA GYPSY GF Alf your mystical life
Did you have a premonition that when you went to Pais RIDERS ON THE STORM! ☔️
She’d accidentally give you the big H ?
Anyway true no one forcing it on you.
But pressure to take it after your inhibitions are wayyy down ?
    Or something sexual ?
The photos of the two love birds” looked sick….
    Who does that?
    Pam…
No fucking autopsy of course not
    Pam likely burbling incoherently
Strange very if PAM LOVED HIM SO MUCH NO TAPE OF HER SPEAKING ONE WORD PRIOR TO HER PASSING.
    That’s sad and I’m thinking,
    WOW
    Strange
But I heard she went to the grave “ emotionally very soon after .
She couldn’t handle life after her bf”
News NOT NOR EVER HER HUSBAND THOUGH SHED ALWAYS SAID SO.
Thank you Ray RIP greatest friend ever to Jim and storyteller supreme !
    The Doors MOVIE?
    PASS !
OLIVER STONE DID THEM DIRTY WELL THATS HOLLYWOOD!
THOUGH VAL KILMER WASNT BAD TERRIBLE ACTING ( well, bad script )!!

Jim raced towards destruction. Pamela added towards that, but was Jim's ultimate choice. Like Shelly, Byron, & many others was considered a heroic choice.

Jim Morrison and The Doors are phenomenal!!! Their lyrics and sound is so majestic, artistic and magical. At 53yrs old I see their music as a time portal to how the world was back then and the emotions it generated at that time, especially if you were a young exploring adult, the technologies, the politics, the fashion, the drugs and social norms. Of course I was only a baby during those late 1960s years, but I did know my 2 grandfathers(from my mum and dads sides) the parents of this generation. My grandad on my mcums side liked Jim Reeves and all those country music singers, he didn't like rock n roll or psychedelic 60s music, not his generation music obviously. But more my mother and fathers generation music which I think was more artistic than my grandfathers music, I think Jim Reeves and his generation music were too conservative, regimental, uncultured and boring at times but they were good musicians technically. I see my grandfathers generation as the suit and tie generation, that was their idea of looking cool and handsome 😄
I think The Doors were like the American Beatles with a more masculine sound, with a bluesy jazz folk style, they would have taken the world by storm if Morrison was still alive...

Incredible album. Also, unrelated to L.A. Woman but I'll always remember that shiner Robby has in the Touch Me video. Somebody got into a tilt lol. Also David Fricke is 100% correct about the US Justice system coming after Jim. The FBI wanted to destroy what they called "The New Left" in the 1960's and imo the entire Miami case was the authorities going full throttle in hopes of destroying Jim and the band. The Doors, Jim obviously included, will live on and be remembered far longer through their music than their enemies in the American establishment. Great seeing Ben Fong-Torres in this documentary. Love the interview/conversation he had with Jim in 1971 right before Jim and Pam left for Paris.

🎬 The video done in 1990 for the Doors' "L.A Woman" release by Billy Idol reaffirms what is being said🌃🏙 .

Nah. They matured into this. And it was pretty ok too. Just as everybody gets older. And cant repeat what we did as 22 year olds. Who knows what they would have developed into. Had Morrison not.
