Me and my dad used to listen to this album. He is no longer with us but I thank him for introducing me to this album. A true piece of art.
There’s a lot of potent emotion in this album
Your father had great taste.Heard it for 1st time in 1977 was 17.62 now and still magical a true classic.👍
Cool, I saw them play album in/ 76 at tower theater , amazing…..
I can relate. I wanted We Can't Dance when it was released. He bought A Trick of the Tail. He always knew better. I miss my dad.
Nursery crime ? What do you think? Xxx
As a teenager, I suffered from occasional debilitating migraines. One evening in the late 1970s I needed to cram for a college final that I couldn't miss and felt the beginning of a migraine. Desperate, I thought of this song. I turned off the lights and began playing the instrumental over and over while gently rocking, breathing slowly, and visualizing the tension flowing out the top of my head. It worked, and I've never had one since.
One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever recorded.
YES!!!!!!
For me personally, THE MOST
I hope my kids think favorably of me when they hear a Genesis tune. You will be forever loved Emily, Eric and Sarah. Love, Papa.
This is the most beautiful Song of the world! Divine album! I love you Genesis!
I love you too 😻
Thank God Gabriel left... we may have never had this beautifully sung song by Phil.
Esp. the haunting instrumental section that closes out the piece.
So agree best album ever
I agree.
The dreamy bucolic guitars by Steve and the epic mellotron by Tony: simply a masterpiece!
Ironically this was a sound Steve inherited from Ant Phillips. Even though Phillips left the band after Trespass, he still carried a lot influence on the Genesis sound then.
The Best Trip I ever had in my life was to this song
@@edlawn5481Didn‘t Tony Banks also play 12-string on this song?
@@RayyMusik
Yes, he did live
W/ Billy Bruford on the traps.......
"Hauntingly Beautiful"
This song still gives me chills! I remember being 17 years old, laying on my bed, listening to this song and visiting lands far away in my mind. To this day, this song never fails to send me back to that emotional place in time. Actually, this whole album, along with "Wind and Wuthering", and "And Then There Were Three" remain 3
Masterpieces, that continue to take me on wonderous and wild journeys to another realm!
😍
A haunting masterpiece...
Entangled and Ripples both have a beautiful, secondary instrumental section starting at four minutes.
One of their best songs, this final...
Universal, melodic songs that are sad but also teach. A bygone era. 😢
Every time I hear this song it's like I'm immersed in a dream! ♥️🎸🎶🎧
Trance
You are!! It's a little like Unquiet Sleepers for the Slumbers on WInd.. totally dreamy.. Love , love , love it.
Welcome to the new world
That last two minutes when the patient drifts into the soft, comforting arms of morphia: well as far as I'm concerned that could go on all day and all night, I would still adore it like the first time I carefully placed this shiny new album on my turntable on the day it was released, 2/2/1976 I was just eighteen, and Genesis occupied an entirely new and beautiful room in my mind that would come to be shared with Pink Floyd and Supertramp, and always be visited by me only with my closest friends and lovers.
skrich......skrich......skrich......skrich......goes the record, after the last song, as you lie on your back, with your headphones on, in your dorm room, away from home...
Sweet summer memories... light wind, late afternoon sun kisses the grass, and my youth.
totally.
Yes back to the 1970's better then than now.
Great band someone at school when I was twelve gave me a loan of Foxtrox. Brilliant music.
There weren't many more albums that I eagerly awaited release as much . Wish You Were Here, Captain Fantastic, Physical Graffiti and Peter Gabriel's debut were a few. This is my favourite track on this great album, the remaining four members of Genesis would have been anxious about the reception of this LP, it is an album that still sounds as great as when l first placed it on to my turntable!
It brings me to sobbing tears every time. I love this song so dearly. ❤️
Genesis, The Beatles, The Smiths etc...England...you slay me!
Sometimes i almost forget just how great Entangled is.Then i put it on and oh wow what a killer song🎉🎸🎸🎉
Musical "Banckett", Tony and Steve of all the cooperativeduo play between the band members, this is the least explored, but when it happened, it was magical, between all the useless and made up drama that people talk on social media, there's one thing certain, they both would be glad to work together again atleast once.
"Over the rooftops in houses, lost as it tries to be seen"
"Mesmerized children are playing, meant to be seen but not heard"
I remember having a dream when i was a kid, not that long ago but still far, were i discovered a group of kids that liked to go outside at night, through the rooftops into an abandoned place, a refuge with games and sweets... i remember always wanting to have a group of friends when little, a reliable group to share many experiences together, but it never happened.
If only those two would get together to collaborate on an album. Rock or classical.
Nursery crime ? What are you thinking about that album ? Xxx
The final part of this Song Is magic,i cry every time i listen to it
Arguably the best and most enduring of all the Genesis tracks; just a masterpiece from start to finish.
La mélancolie t'enveloppe à chaque écoute, sublime !
🎶 A Really Beautiful & Excellent Song From The Best Band Of The World 🎶
🎤🎹🎸🥁🎸🎼🎤🎹🎸🥁🎸🎼🎤🎹🎸🥁🎸🎼🎤🎹🎸🥁🎸🎼
That Mellotron gets to me... just love it.. ❤
i like the acoustic guitar during the refrain. is the guitar by steve or mike?
🎶 Entangled 🎶 Thanks Genesis For This Excellent, Awesome &
Fantastic Masterpiece, You're The Best!!!!! GENESIS FOREVER!!!!!
🎤🎹🎸🥁🎸🎼 🎤🎹🎸🥁🎸🎼🎤🎹🎸🥁🎸🎼
Beautiful and precious Masterpiece.
Man, I love you guys for posting versions with comments enabled. god I wish my gen could appreciate your music
This Is an Amazing dreaming, poetic Song, greetings from Treviso Italy, huge fan of this group (Only '70 Years)
My favourite band and such apt timing of the system...helps me escape this mind blowing world sometimes...such artistry....
I don't think Steve and Tony always got along, but when they put their musical differences aside, they came up with some great music like this.
Banks is selfish. Great musician but poor human beeing. Miss Steve in Genesis…
Tony monopolized instrumental passages from the start, and hell he did it well. In the process, however, he silenced one of the most creative guitars in rock, Steve Hackett.
I think this song was composed by Steve and Michael
@@PauloSantos-eu1js Tony and Steve wrote the bulk of Entangled, but Steve has mentioned that Mike did write part of the outro. Not sure why Mike wasn't credited on this track in the liner notes.
If the two of them didn't always get along, when they did collaborate they created some of the most beautiful and magical music I've ever heard. I sort of regard the keyboard solo at the end of Entangled as Tony returning the favor for the guitar solo Hackett performed in Firth of Fifth.
Amazing I've been a genesis fan since the 80s and I'm getting to know more of their older stuff which it amazing I'm 41 one of the best bands ever
it's interesting how they slowly changed from prog to pop.
Amazing song.
My heart really breaks in two...so grateful to you
Tony joining Phil in singing the backing vocals.
Steve wrote the music to the verse and all the lyrics for the song, while Tony wrote the music for the chorus and the coda.
Mike is in there also.. three of them..Steve was the one probably not singing
@@ppbowers Only Phil and Tony are credited with vocals on this album.
My favorite version is the live one from 1976. Great Bill Bruford 💪💘
I have the original album in deep storage in Glasgow, it’s in a Fort Knox situation until I can retrieve it to Melbourne Australia where I know live. A diamond in my crown this album, it speaks of wandering minds and roaming in the glens. A treasure.
My all-time favorite genesis song. The first song I ever heard from them back in the day. Turned me on t genesis . changed my life. All time favorite group
It's an incredible song.
The remastered version makes this song an AVERAGE. song. The ORIGINAL version, with the MELLATRON, is the best song in the HISTORY OF MUSIC 🎶!!!!!!
My all times favourite band !
My favorite Genesis concert
They were on fire, intent on proving themselves as a band post Peter.
Saw them on the Duke tour . . 1981 I believe. The whole venue throbbed and vibrated. I remember Squonk in particularly.
Cheers
The end chorus...🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾it reminds me of the Lord
As others have pointed out...that mellotron at the end is sublime.
I was hoping for a surprise bonus lead in to Squonk....
I guess I will just have to go listen to it on my own!
Always a great song!
I did the same thing. The mellow ending of this and the crashing percussion of Squonk are addictive!
I love you Gênesis ❤❤❤❤❤
2021 Genesis and Phil still THE BEST in this world. Thank you very much and take care of yourself. Thanks from Paris.
Fell asleep to this when I was a kid. Thanks mum n dad. I think it had a big effect on me
Perfection..
What a great song by one of the best musicians out there and Steve Hackett 😉
... but honestly, it's a great song, only the two of them together could have created such a great piece of music. Really awesome!
Lyrics:
When you're asleep they may show you
Aerial views of the ground
Freudian slumber empty of sound
Over the rooftops and houses
Lost as it tries to be seen
Fields of incentive covered with green
Mesmerised children are playing
Meant to be seen but not heard
Stop me from dreaming!
Don't be absurd!
Well if we can help you we will
You're looking tired and ill
As I count backwards
Your eyes become heavier still
Sleep, won't you allow yourself fall?
Nothing can hurt you at all
With your consent
I can experiment further still
Madrigal music is playing
Voices can faintly be heard
Please leave this patient undisturbed
Sentenced to drift far away now
Nothing is quite what it seems
Sometimes entangled in your own dreams
Well, if we can help you we will
Soon as you're tired and ill
With your consent
We can experiment further still
Well, thanks to our kindness and skill
You'll have no trouble until
You catch your breath
And the nurse will present you the bill!💸
Genesis and Phil at their peak , Steve wrote this great song with tony finishing the 2 min ending 👌
Dance of a Volcano and Entangled are the best Intro of Prog of all times.
Incontestable
@@Seb_Sebastian Completement d'accord, une ambiance unique qu'on retrouve dans l'excellent album " Voyage of the Acolyte" de Steve Hackett
Takes me back to college mid 70s. Is it really thatlong ago? Best song on great album.
Wonderful song😘😘😘
this song is so beautiful
The one of the best song on Earth
my dad also played this to me, he is also no linger with us but my god this is just wonderful xx
In my top three of Genesis albums one of my favorite songs all time by the band. Entangled sounds like Yes with the vocal harmonies and acoustic guitars should of been a single would of been a big hit!
One of the most beautiful songs ever written!
That English folk sound made Genesis even more special and it left with Steve Hackett.
Beautiful is the word.
The best band and the best songs.
GENESIS IN MY HEART
That music gote to shad tears wen I was lock up remind of the best time I had whit my friends and that got me their hard time today I still love that band all ways will god bless there talent we are lucky to share all these moments in our heart music make people beautiful Florida Johnny

My favorite song of all time. So beautiful.
One of their best songs of course!
First time Genesis in Brasil play this record .God save the ROCK FOREVER YOUNG
Just beautiful .
Magnificent song. The ending is one of the greatest moments in prog ❤
The beginning of the second song is so beautiful. No matter how many times I hear the song, I scratch my head even during in wonderment.
Beautiful
My favorite song of all time. Period.
Brilliant song 🙂 Love you Genesis!
Thank God Gabriel left... we may never of had this beautiful song and this brilliant album.
gabriel did some good songs too like anyway and the lamia.
Masterful, eternal. Thanks for this very good dream.
memories are awakened ... that was also a great time. I'm happy to see and hear you all live. And don't forget: If you need a background singer, just contact me .... 🎤🎤🎤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Magnifique !
Great song. How can you not love it.
This instrumental at the end of the song is very beautiful, with graceful arrangements.
Talvez o terceiro, a seguir aos dois primeiros, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway e Selling England by the Pound, persistindo para mim a dúvida, penso que insanável de qual o primeiro. The Best Band Ever. Não gosto deles, amo-os, ouço-os desde os meus 12/13 anos, tenho 63. ❤
Crazy how Genesis' post Hackett vids are still getting way more views than the older genius music like this song.
! 👍😲😉🤩👋✌❣🍫🍺🎷🇧🇪
Great Song ! 🌞🍀🌞🍀
Great Steve Hackett riff
From front to back a true masterpiece.
Absolument magnifique.
👍🤩✌👋❣🇧🇪
Je dis aussi ceci quand j'écoute Child in Time de Deep Purple !
Great song 👍🏻🔝
The ending of this song is so beautifully haunting...
Steve Hackett must be the most underrated guitarist ever and certainly my favourite
The dreamy "flying" mellotron-ending is some of the best pieces in music history, including all genres!
Fantastic mellotron ending can also be heard on "Seven Stones" from Nursery Cryme.
1970's Genesis Forever!
Rune,, the M400 Mellotron is ALL OVER THE PLACE on many of their albums, Wind, Selling England, Lamb, Trick(here playing).. It's here though that it's most famous, also the ending of Los Endos. Just perfect and beautiful!!
___***----THE----***___* best song in the history of music 🎵!!!!!¡!!!!!!!
Nursery crime is superb
Yes, the mellotron ending in Seven Stones is great but not like this.. The Mello is in choir or chorus mode here, something Tony didn't do yet until Selling England. The choir sound is by far the most intense other worldly sound created for prog rock married to the ARP Pro SOlost that Tony uses for the errry ghostly sound. It's that simple. Spine tingling alone with the Pro Soloist in eerrry mode... 😄
Its my favorite song of all time! The version when you can hear the melletron. The remastered version is an ordinary song. Check out the other great versions by cover bands like Hydria. Excellent!
AMAZING !
I listened to this album last, over 45 years ago.
Why didn't I enjoy it in-between all them times.
TUT❤🎉😂
It’s as if one were entering one of these palaces in center of Europe, with the pastry architecture “style whipped chocolate tart” In every
room where one enters, the individuals are dressed in black and white from head to foot. They have this strange absence in the eyes while staring at you.The ceilings are painted, the furnishings are indescribably luxurious and the marble tables reflect the evanescent
serenity of the place! Everything is rigid, until the time that flows behind the paneling, as on the alert ..
What have you taken ?
Hackett Forever ❤
Love, LOVE.
My favorite album.
