Mercyful Fate - Demo 1981 (Full Demo)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- This is the first demo released by Mercyful Fate. It was put together from audio originating from rehearsals which took place presumably in March of 1981.
Track List
01 - Death Kiss [0:00]
02 - You Asked For It [5:53]
03 - Running Free [10:06]
Its crazy to hear how much his voice progressed from Black Rose, the early MF demos up to Melissa and and Dont Break the Oath. He learned to control his falsetto technique in a short period of time. Right here he is very, very raw. Still very much practicing with it but didnt have the control over it yet.
This is NOT Demo #1. This is Demo 1981. They are two seperate releases with different track lists.
Masterpiece!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Amazing.
I had never heard the last track before and it was amazing.
Old Underground!
Just before the 9:00 time-stamp (from 8:40 actually) , the guitar playing reminds me a lot the Am I Evil (Diamond Head)
@Georgios Doumas
Diamond Head didn't invent that riff. For example Vatreni Poljubac played that riff in one of the first speed metal songs BRŽI OD BRŽEG in the 1979 record.
A DANGEROUS...KISS!!!
För helvete gamle
King.
How the fuck did you find the actual tape?
Wasn't there a 2nd demo uploaded before? what happened to it?
It was uploaded by a user named 'spropaganda' some time in 2014, and titled 'Demo #1'. It was in fact Demo #2 that he had uploaded, but despite the incorrect title, the audio tape quality was very good. It did have a little bit of the first track (Walking Back to Hell/Death Kiss) cut off from it, starting maybe 4 seconds late which is not cut off in my version of the tape, but my version's quality is quite poor in comparison. I think I may have downloaded his video in 2014 and might still have it somewhere. I'm not sure why he took it down, but if there's no sign of him reuploading, I will upload it with its correct title and give him credits for its original upload in the video description.
In terms of how Demo #2 differed from Demo #1, Demo #2 had the same three songs from Demo #1, except Death Kiss was re- recorded (given the name change to Walking Back to Hell). The second Demo also included two extra songs (Hard Rocker and Love Criminals). This was quite similar to the relationship between Demo #3 and Demo #4 (Burning the Cross Demo); demo #4 possessing the additional track 'On a Night of Full Moon'.
Huh interesting. I do enjoy going back and listening to that one so if you do re upload it that'd be sweet! It's pretty cool you have all these old demos around its a little piece of history recorded on a cassette!
@@thetyrant1 So. Where's that Demo #2?
What a surprise for me to listen to an excellent first version of "A Dangerous Meeting" ("Death Kiss")
Years ago my friend Brett lent me mercyful fate special disc and these tunes were on it/ return of vampire the rare and unreleased/ my memory is damaged from a bike wreck// but i think it was called something of that nature**
Pure Fucking Black Metal!! (first wave)
i dont hear black metal here at all
@@useruserovich4733 first wave black metal is literally just heavy metal with more occult lyrics, they are classified like this because they were influential to black metal bands in the 90s, more lyrically than in actual sound.
And king had corpse paint on very early 🤘
fucking awesome very first demo tape of mercyful fate this is them at the start, just sound fucking amazing man king diamond never did a shit performance doing demos, going live or studio demos a classic metal singer. still the most underrated metal band of all time i think. black metal at the very best. \m/ all 3 songs here magic gems.
Well buddy... It sounds simply heavy metal to me... satanic lyrics yeah, but not black metal as we know it
This is real Black Metal, deal with it. or you can keep listen into that Demon Burger and leave this video to the Real Metal Fans.
@@yhonicoalamch5351 it’s not black metal dude, you deal with it. Neither Mercyful Fate or King Diamond have ever been black metal
So Death Kiss is actually A Dangerous Meeting!!!
My favourite track here is "You Asked For It"
Black masses
this demo is in fact the DANGERZONE's one , this studio project lead by michael denner joined forces with the former THE BRATS members , then after this recording this newly formed band , actually became MERCYFUL FATE ...
THANKS FOR THE KING DIAMOND( HISTORY LESSON// I KNEW HE WAS IN A PUNK BAND CALLED BRATS OR SOMETHING// AWESOME INFO***
Hails you have some killer fucking demos salute the King turned me to the dark side long time ago \m/666\m/
THANKS FOR THIS CLASSIC DEMO// SAME RIFFS// EVERTHING// BUT LYRICS TOTALLY DIFFERENT \,,,/
LONG LIVE KING DIAMOND/ MERCYFUL FATE.
🤘 This stuff is awesome!
I wonder if Kirk Hammet ripped of the guitar tone from Hank Shermann
U can definitely hear the influence!
Hammet has an awful tone.
Listen to 8:40-9:00 and you will realize that MF guitarists were just inspired by Am I Evil of Diamond Head.
Wish he could have ripped off his talent too!
Does anyone know where to find Demo 2? I can't find it anywhere and can't find that other channel that supposedly had it.
I had a copy of this decades ago and lost it, thanks ... I missed it
E O MARAVILHOSO MUNDO DO *HEAVY METAL* CONTÍNUA FOREVER🇧🇷
War da noch unschuldig😂mit 12Jahren..
they should have titled the second song "You Axed For It".
KING DIAMOND IS ANGEL OF METAL
Denner and Sherman rule!
Michael Denner was not in the band when this was recorded. It was Hank Shermann and Carsten Van der Volsing on guitar. They also played bass on these tracks too, Timi Hansen was also not yet in the band.
Wow! I can hear demons!
Thanks for posting this!
It´s impressive how the band is already in shape, but King Diamond is still looking for his style. I always think King exagerate his falsettos (until "The Eye", when he finally could moderate himself). Rob Halford had the same problem, vocalists have this "Diva" approach in heavy metal sometimes.
Yeah that song Rules.
Great demo!!🤘
Is the first 3 song demo just demo and the second demo is demo#1.
What covers go to which demos
Does demo 2 have the different version of death kiss from the 1997 oath remaster?
Does anyone have the lyrics for "Running Free"?
Oh, yeah oh, yeah
Now hear my song
Sirens calling, people leaving the streets
The cops are coming, I don't know what I did
Why don't you get away, leaving my soul alone. Maybe another day, you get a
Reason too
Oh, yeah oh, yeah
I'm running free, they won't get me alive
No one can see, I did it to survive
Why don't you get away, leaving my soul alone. Maybe another day you get a
Reason too
oh, yeah oh, yeah
This is what I did
I killed a friend, for making love to my girl
This is the end, a bullet from my gun
Why don't you get away leaving my soul alone. Maybe another day you get a
Reason too
I can't belong
Kill
@@ghistz1665 thank you very much!
@@Schierke-666 you're welcome!
Any chances this tape is still available?
Had this on bootleg back in the 80s
Is running free iron maiden cover?
Leave my soul alone
No, totally different song.
Thanx for the upload 🤘
This is first demo ??
