thank you for this! I am an elementary school para and one of my students has epilepsy. this has prepared me to react in case anything happens! in addition, my little sister just got diagnosed with epilepsy this week. I am doing as much research as possible to be prepared
Touch was a trigger for me, and sadly, during a grand mal, people who meant well kept patting and stroking me to comfort me. I think that caused my episode to be longer. Also, if you are in a room where you can turn off lights, that may help some. Lights were also a trigger for me.

We were taught to turn to recovery side to prevent him from swallowing his tongue during seizer but this video turn to recovery side after seizer? Are they both safe? Or?
I was told to just lay them on their side on the ground immediately and time it.
Yes you are meant to put them on there side and time it but still keep a good eye on there breathing and see if they can squeeze your finger for any response if there's no response after 5 minutes or it the person first time having a seizure call for an ambulance

Thank you so much. My brother had a seizure because of blood and sugar drops my whole family came to Children’s Hospital he is OK now he’s talking but what should I do if he didn’t go to hospital
Just make sure he's safe on the floor, on his side... & keep track of the time. For a child, anything over 3 min you should use any 'rescue meds' provided by the dr and call an ambulance. Or whatever time your dr recommends. Adults is usually 5 min for the same. Under that just ensure he's safe and sit w him until it stops. It gets less scary each time... tho always scary. We also all fled to the hospital the first two times, lol... I can finally keep myself together if she has one now and we're all pretty clear on how to handle things during and after and are comfortable staying home after and just go yearly for a check up/ check in w the neuro. If they have two seizures they will start meds and do the necessary testing/ diagnosis, etc. The most important thing is making sure they don't injure themselves and watch the time. In my experience the time has never been an issue... but it can be for some people so always keep track of that ♡
There's an herbal supplement called magnolia bark and you can get it on Amazon. It's good for preventing seizures as well as for anxiety, depression, sleep and many more things. My daughter takes that and vitamin b6 and melatonin and they all work together well and help her out. It's very affordable and a good thing to add an extra layer of protection/ prevention.

I watched some videos. Some mentioned that immediately helping the patient laying on their side during seizures, So what is the right way? Or both ways are fine?
Immediately roll to the side. That is the right way and cooling measures isn't necessary. The fever is coming from inside the body. Cooling measures are only cooling the skin which can make a child more uncomfortable.

Why touching the child??
If the patient is laying on the back they can choke on the excess saliva or breath this saliva into their lungs. If they don't respond to a hand being held gently or a back rub this indicated they are unresponsive. Rolling them on their side (Or if during seizure, roll the head to the side on the blankets in case they vomit. If the head is to the side the vomit will exit the mouth, if they vomit with the back of their head flat on the blanket they wont be able to spit out the vomit and will hold in the mouth increasing the change of aspiration. You want to wait until after the shaking/convulsions end (With the head rolled to one side. ) to roll the rest of the body to the side as if they are laying on their side during convulsions they can get hurt worse than if they were laying on their back head rolled to the side with a folded blanket/tshirt under their head.
