For every hour they spend teaching the law and personal rights they spend two hours on how to get around those laws and bend rules. Cops are nobody’s friends.
What every police department needs is a group of civilian overseers, with the ability to stop, search and detain them as they try to do us. Give them a taste of what it's like, and maybe they'll straighten up

I like ur audits the best out of everyone else’s. I can’t stand these other channels that go do audits and stay silent or don’t speak, or speak a weird language. U get straight to the point and let them know what’s going on and what the deal is.
So much of American culture revolves around value for tax dollars. There needs to be a publicly accessible, national database that record's every in court and out of court settlement for police misconduct. This should also include legal cost. If people see how much police misconduct is costing them they would demand change. If you want to politicise the issue, set up a local Time Square style Debit Clock to show tax payers the hidden/true cost of policing in their area

I don't always agree with rudeness or confrontation but I truly believe these auditors provide a valuable service to stress test our public servants and to make sure that they are able to cordially deal with even the most abrasive member of the public. When you choose to take a job dealing with the public, you need to have the type of temperament to deflect and accept even the most difficult person in the public and not let your feelings and ego dictate your actions. These auditors provide a valuable public service that could only be ruined by making it a government position, ran by government employees.
As an outsider looking in, another problem I see with policing in America, is that there are too many judiciary's. According to Wikipedia, "there are 17,985 different US police agences." Every town, city and municipality has its own police force, this naturally brings about differences in training, standards, procedures and expectations. A better model is Australia, where they only have a Federal police force, your FBI, and State police. One police force across a State would standardise policing bring it more under the control of State legislators and ironically reduce the cost to tax payers. I have real trouble getting my head around that, 18 thousand!!!
The main theme of the United States is decentralization to prevent or at least stem off corruption, and Australia is corrupt to the core. Case in point: vaccines are mandated and those who do not wish to be victims of the latest big pharma crime are unable to flee the country because everything, from medical care to emigration and law enforcement, is controlled by a single monolithic entity and rights can change as quickly as the whims of men with deep pockets. They only have to grease one wheel instead of a few thousand, and as it happens, that's all it takes. God bless America's nightmarish bureaucracy.

Another issue, a lot of American police were in the military prior to joining the police. In the military they are trained to see everyone as a threat, not as a equal.
Totally untrue. In the military our rules and regs and rules of engagement are far and away more strict in a war zone being it Afghanistan or Iraq then it is for these douches on American soil. Who can can explain why this is?

I recall being one of the first tourists into East Timor (2000). The UN was still in-charge and transitioning power over to the locals. I saw a squad of America military out for a run, all were carrying sidearms. This struck me as a bit paranoid as they were the only nationality/military personnel openly carrying firearms on the streets. This says to me, that their doctrine is one of little trust of the locals. Which must flow thought to the mindset of the soldiers. When these veterans came back from Afghanistan or Iraq, the government gives them another gun but this time with more power to use it and calls them a police officer. Will not their military experience, training and especially, mindset carry over to police work? For me, prior military training is not a good starting point to be a police officer. Far better would be a social worker turned police officer. Policing is not about being able to take and bark orders. Empathy and communication make a good police officer.

In his 6 weeks at the academy he learned all 400,000 laws on the books in the good old USA except the ones that protect the people.
