Voice memo wasn’t always there on the watch. And I just like the way just press record works. It has some shortcut still that just seems to work better as well.
I thought the same but it actually works better than the built in app. You can put the complication on your watch and record with one tap. It’ll transcribe what’s recorded and seems to do a much better job than the built in, at least for me
The selected apps has nothing really to do with fitness, activity or health which you would associate with the Apple Watch Ultra. A few are unnecessary apps that costs where free alternatives are just as good.
I feel that these were the best watchOS 10 updated apps to get at the time I made this videos. I have the ultra but I didn’t specify that these were the best ultra apps. I paid/pay for all of these cause I personally think they offer things that are better than the defaults. Curious what some of your picks would be. Im always up to finding new apps.
Yeah sometimes that will kick it into gear. Sometimes the watch just take a bit to get the update. I ended up doing the same thing by you did cause I really wanted to see it right away. 😂
In addition to being a great video for Watch users, this is also a great video for aspiring watchOS app devs and designers. Thanks for putting it together!
Things has been with me since its first launch. I have it on my desktop, laptop, iPad, iPhone, and Apple watch. It can get a bit expensive but nothing comes close to it.
@@TheAppleBias I forgot to mention the single payment advantage over other similar apps. I had Omnifocus for some time and without getting into a comparison, those guys charge you an arm and a leg for upgrades and if you don’t upgrade you can’t continue using it. Things is an amazing app!
@flankman9385 no reason to get that personal on it. Some people just don’t think it’s worth paying for software. They are fine with the ads and their collected data paying the bill instead.
A lot of these app and ran by single developers or small businesses. There are many free ones out there as well. But those are most likely tracking your data. Seems like you’d be better off in android land of all your looking for is cheap and free.
Nice. I use it so much. It is such an amazing app. Loving the new colors on it. I even use the widget on my sleep mode iPhone homescreen so I can check updates quickly in the middle of the night if I happen to wake up. 🤷♂️🤪
I use the one in Apple Watch and got RainViewer for the radar it’s free . If a weather app doesn’t have radar it’s kinda useless. I’m really disappointed in The Weather Channel app for the watch . Not much to it.
I don’t think so. Now the watch can have multiple location is yours set to the correct one? If so then you could try to uninstall the watch app and reinstall. It you can easily do that in the watch app on the iPhone.
Are you getting payed for showing some of the apps?? Showing apps which don’t or barely show any advantage over apple‘s own application but make you buy a subscription…
Ha nope not a time I actually have paid for all of them. I honestly love these apps and think they give you a lot of advantages over the ones from Apple.
Ha yeah. Not sure why it can be so slow for the watch apps to get the update. I did it with most of these to get them on. Not sure how long it would have taken otherwise. I’m just too lazy to wait I guess.
I wasn’t paid from any of the apps. Just showing the apps that had been updated for watchOS 10 right away and did it well. If you don’t wanna track your water intake there is one to track when you pee. It’s called Pee & See. It’s a different way to track hydration. 😁
@applebias - So I’m updated in the carrot app on their ultra plan, running iOS 17 and watchOS 10. However, the UI looks like the old version on my Ultra Watch. Any settings I need to change?
I don’t think so these are some of the best apps for the watch and most are run by a single developer. As a developer I’m all for helping support indie developers.
Why would somebody pay for an app when most of the benefits in the apps shown are available free. We are OK to see rings in the weather as it's available free 😂 Can u make a video on free apple watch apps
The ring system is a horrible design. And there are multiple reasons to pay for carrot all the rain data and notification on storms and whatnot are great as well. Not to mention supporting smaller businesses.
Let me know what your favorite watch apps are.
Carrot on my Apple watch ultra face only shows the icnon of the app and not the high low temp I chose. I don't know why.
@@A.H_610 some maybe with the paid plans only. He has a ton of different complication options.
I don’t understand why anyone would want Just press record, voice memos is pre installed and is identical
Voice memo wasn’t always there on the watch. And I just like the way just press record works. It has some shortcut still that just seems to work better as well.
Agreed.
I’ll never forget finding my mom had a “mirror” app that was just the camera app
I thought the same but it actually works better than the built in app. You can put the complication on your watch and record with one tap. It’ll transcribe what’s recorded and seems to do a much better job than the built in, at least for me
@Liquatic yeah just press record is amazing.

Figured it out! Just have to toggle show on Apple Watch to off, and then back on, and it updated
Yeah sometimes that will kick it into gear. Sometimes the watch just take a bit to get the update. I ended up doing the same thing by you did cause I really wanted to see it right away. 😂
Thanks for posting this because my carrot app doesn’t look like that.
Thank you for covering WaterMinder! :D :D
No problem. Been a big fan for years. Keep up the awesome work man!
In addition to being a great video for Watch users, this is also a great video for aspiring watchOS app devs and designers. Thanks for putting it together!
Happy to help. Are you an app developer or working to be one? That’s what I do for my day job. It’s the best.
For the water app, it’s better to buy a hidrate bottle and get the free app. Your water intake is automatically added to your iOS.
I actually have one. They are pretty awesome. I but still not perfect. The bottom of mine comes loose a lot which got pretty annoying.
@@TheAppleBias I have the steel and original, never had that problem.
Yeah mine is the steel. My friend has one and doesn’t have the problem either. May need to give them another try the 32oz one is tempting.
Things has been with me since its first launch. I have it on my desktop, laptop, iPad, iPhone, and Apple watch.
It can get a bit expensive but nothing comes close to it.
Fully agree I have them all too for years and would have rather paid that way than paying a reoccurring subscription.

Cant believe you actually pay for a weather app. Facepalm!
Carrot is the best weather app give me so much more info then apple weather and notification of storms and how far lightning strikes are form me.
Not everyone is as poor as you. For some people $30 a year is insignificant.
@flankman9385 no reason to get that personal on it. Some people just don’t think it’s worth paying for software. They are fine with the ads and their collected data paying the bill instead.
You convinced me that I don’t want the Apple Watch. Those app prices are ridiculous.
A lot of these app and ran by single developers or small businesses. There are many free ones out there as well. But those are most likely tracking your data. Seems like you’d be better off in android land of all your looking for is cheap and free.
Awesome review, Brian!
Thanks!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great apps. I use parcel daily

Carrot 🥕 weather APP is overrated in my opinion
There are much better
Them fighting words 😂😂 just kidding we all have our own preferences. I’ve tried a few and for me carrot is the best.
I use the one in Apple Watch and got RainViewer for the radar it’s free .
If a weather app doesn’t have radar it’s kinda useless.
I’m really disappointed in The Weather Channel app for the watch . Not much to it.
Do you ever have issues with the carrot app not updating in Apple Watch. For my city it shows 78° but it’s like 90°.
I don’t think so. Now the watch can have multiple location is yours set to the correct one? If so then you could try to uninstall the watch app and reinstall. It you can easily do that in the watch app on the iPhone.
@@TheAppleBias okay just checking. It’s weird. If I select my city it gives the correct temperature. If I select current location it’s way off.

Ha nope not a time I actually have paid for all of them. I honestly love these apps and think they give you a lot of advantages over the ones from Apple.
Carrot is very expensive and not one time payment (it's subscription). Definetily not worth it.
Everyone has their own opinion. For everything it gives me I think it’s well worth it. I just pay the yearly price.
@@TheAppleBias It MUST NOT be the same price in all countries!
I’m sure there are some difference. I pay $30/yr for my plan though.
Buyed new apple watch but why can’t fastforward music in apple watch? 🙄
Yeah you’d think holding down the forward would fast forward. May want to look into a third part app and see if one has that feature.
Agree about carrot weather. I also had problems updating but saw the tip in the comment here. Thanks
Ha yeah. Not sure why it can be so slow for the watch apps to get the update. I did it with most of these to get them on. Not sure how long it would have taken otherwise. I’m just too lazy to wait I guess.
🖐 water minder?? Is there an app to tell me when to inhale and exhale, chew my food, take a dump…….one big infomercial!😳

To be honest, you are paying too much money for those subscriptions!

Which watch face is this?
One on the video is the ultra modular it’s new to watchOS 10 and only for the ultra watches.
appreciate the reply, I'm on a series 9 with watchOS 10, was wondering why I couldn't find it@@TheAppleBias
How did you get the Mandalorian pic in the centre complication 👍🏼
App called WatchSmith. Lets you make any image a complication. apps.apple.com/us/app/watchsmith/id1483088503.

The update to carrot is fantastic.
It truly is I was a little worried at first but I am really enjoying it.
Great video. Thanks

How do you get the mandalorian picture on your watch? Which app/complication is it?
Just a photo watchface. You can download it here. brianminor.com/watchface/ it switches from Mando to grogu
