- Behind every great love is a great story. As teenagers, Allie (Rachel McAdams) and Noah (Ryan Gosling) begin a whirlwind courtship that soon blossoms into tender intimacy. Except he didn't. These actors dated in real life, she was just as beautiful since its the same person, and he broke up with her and did not love her like this. Real relationships are different.
It's called make-up. And true beauty is inside, not outside onn the skin.
Noah has only himself to blame for her crashing into that fence, he taught her how to drive afterall.
To be fair, Ryan Gosling would have that effect on most women.

The moment they first see each other for those couple of seconds it's looks like he felt he was dreaming. When she continues to talk you can seen him lose his balance when he realizes he isn’t dreaming, it's looks like he wanted to say something for all the years he missed her but he couldn't even process one word to say. The gestures of nervousness, the heavy breathing, and the fence being wrecked, shows how vulnerable, shocked, and scared they were. It’s like their hearts came back to life from being asleep as they were so overwhelmed with emotion. Real Love like this, you can't hide even if you tried. This was great acting.

The Notebook is so direct with it's themes of love, trust, intimacy, hope and loyalty, it's almost immoral to call it cliché.

They loved each other so much that he never loved anyone except her, and she left her fiancé and returned to her first love, eh how lucky that in real life we can return to our first and greatest love ... This film reminds me of my first love, it's been 5 years since we broke up, and I still love him, I'm looking for something in each to remind me of him, the look, the eyes, the voice and even the wrinkles😔 ... The film is beautiful, the two of them are a great couple , and Rachel is beautiful as an angel😍, her smile and look, both were created for these roles and this film.❤

This Man is dedicated, the fact that she didn't even write him back nor make an effort to go see him is beyond me and the most selfish thing ever. Especially since they were teenagers he promised her a Home and Love....the audacity of her to say "It's not easy"....He fought in a War, had no money to his name and fought his own demons is enough for her to realize that he loved her. ESPECIALLY, him writing her letters for a whole year, only a small handful of Men to this day are that dedicated, loyal and passionate.
She didn't know he wrote her, otherwise, as is indicated in the book, she probably would have written him back. That's the problem with movie adaptations. They often leave out a lot of small, seemingly insignificant, details.

Don't waste your life for her/him to come back. In real life things change, people change. If you see and talk to the same person after 5 or 10 years you may find yourself disappoinded and realize you have fantasized a lot of emotion in your head. Live your life as you want to. Travel and develop yourself. Who knows, on your journey you may find someone way better. In that instance, she won't even matter anymore.

I got to witness the devotion of an 80 year old man , imperfect and flawed, who loved my mother very much. They spent a lifetime together from the 1950s Atlanta to New York City to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I love you, Mom and Dad. Jim and Charlotte.

The older couple reminds me of my grandparents on my mother's side. My grandmother had to go to a nursing home after she got Alzheimer's and dementia and my grandfather drove 40min one way every day for years until she died.
