- "Angel" is a song performed by American hard rock band Aerosmith. It was written by lead singer Steven Tyler and professional songwriting collaborator Desmond Child. It was released in 1988 as the second single from the band's massively successful 1987 album Permanent Vacation. It quickly climbed to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, the second highest chart performance for any Aerosmith single.
A classic heavy metal power ballad, it incorporates many of the stylings of rock ballads, including driving electrical guitar riffs by Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, pianos and violin sounds (from a keyboard), an emotional delivery of lyrics by Steven Tyler, a strong rhythm by bassist Tom Hamilton, and well-placed steady drum beats by Joey Kramer.

This is a very special song for me and it has a lot to do with my love for my baby same kinda love that needs to come and make it alright with us. Shes my Angel and I need her to come and save me tonight. Steve Tyler is a brilliant songwriter and a gentleman in his on way with stage life but still a great guy to talk to. I was fortunate to meet him when he did a concert in Birmingham Al. many years ago. I had a back stage pass with my ticket I won from a radio station, I happened to be the third caller and won the pass back stage and a ticket to watch I had a back pack that Steven Tyler signed in black felt marker I still have it today it has faded some but still very readable his signature. They had there body guards their and their were some big guys that looked like they could tackle a bear. Plus state troopers were also there watching out for them backstage. Searched my back pack and my paints shirt and pockets even had me take off my shoes. Wow!! I smoked a little weed back then I am so glade I left it in my van. Forsure got busted for weed lol!! never forget the concert one of the best I have ever been to. back when music was real and heart felt and mistakes were made but all was live and real no machines keeping beat and fake playing with a one band man that is everywhere now days. There is no money in cd's or anything like it anym. Take me back to the 70's and 80's and let me stay that way with my girl I'd be in heaven with my music and my girl oh yeah baby.
