Two decades of experience, as a K-pop trainee (soloist and group member), and now as a lyricist and vocalist.
Companies actually respect her enough, that they get her in to check out current trainees.
What she has to say is worth listening to, for sure.

How does one keep their voice/body healthy training that much? Singing for more than four hours seems like it could be harmful and straining on the voice especially with the extra stress on your body of losing weight.

@@GinaEverywhere please dooo.. It's one of the reasons why i have high respects for trainees and korean idols who have undergo trainings for so many years.. debut or not.. they all deserve recognition for it.. i used to do part-time jobs in theater and in concerts and all.. as sounds and light technical staff.. i was there for almost every rehearsals and performance.. but some of them would end up losing their voices sometimes at some point.. after rehearsals.. so just really dont give a care.. but some is a little bit too much.. and a bit of demanding... when it comes to taking good care of their throats.. I understand why tho'.. its just that sometimes i feel like they were just pretending..

This was very insightful honestly, thank you.
I'm a dancer and an athlete, I was comparing what you said about kpop trainee to the training regime I have as a student athlete wrestler whose coaches train us on a borderline olympic level, which some of our teammates from prior years transferred over from other colleges (I'm equating colleges as different kpop companies) and they said the training program of this college we are attending is best managed, where athletes won't be mistreated (improper weight cut/management methods, coaches abusing athletes, favoritism, bullying, lack of athletic trainer care, lack of proper dietetic/meal plan advice, rule-bending/cheating at competitions, etc) while having the most rigorous training compared to other schools.

The training process = Very interesting, as you say, the big companies are concerned about the presentation of the group or the solo singer, they already know what needs to show that individual in their best, to be the best they can be, which for them equates to financial income for them and that person or group. So here you are a decade after you chose to leave and providing insight to the many girls and guys still in the business and those wanting to get into the business, yet you stand firm in your conviction to be the singer you want to be rather than the one they want you to be, which I see as a very courageous stand on your part, accolades to you on many levels.

One thing I'm really curious about, I'm not sure if you could answer though, is how much control a company has over its artists. I've read Jessica's book and I'm not sure if that aspect is dramatized or not. Making dating scandals, kicking trainees out if they refuse to get double eyelid surgery, creating press leaks on purpose etc...

I love your brutal honesty about the auditions! You're not afraid to say it how it is, and it is true, at the end of the day it really comes down to whether or not the judge likes you. The opinions of other people might help you feel more validated, but confidence comes from within. A lot of people are drawn in by the glamour that they see on the screen, but nothing is pure in the world when money is involved. I would love to see a video on lessons that unexpectedly that have helped you in life(outside the realm of the entertainment world).

Honestly, training sounds awesome😥🤩 I would love to sing 7 hours a day. Rather than my parents telling me to be quiet while singing. I have a really powerful voice, have taken private vocal lessons, and am learning to dance right now. I can also play the guitar. So training sounds awesome. I want to learn how to produce my own lyrics, I also want to learn how to rap. I'm actually very fit and have a lot of stamina. So yeah. Training sounds really awesome and enjoyable. Even if I dont debut, I would want to just train for the longest time.

I really enjoy your insights and your self assured non-dramatic presentation. You have a real talent for it. I realize it is a petty criticism because you are a self assured individual who has chosen this format but why do you play with your hair? It detracts from your confident presentation. I discovered you on a video with your friend and was so pleased you didn’t constantly stroke your hair and adjust it all the time as she was doing. Your hair that day was partially pulled back in a tie. Your just looked so breezy and fresh and comfortably self assured. I was taught to keep ones hands out of their hair when speaking with someone. I see the validity of that when I watch you and many of the women with long hair hair on videos.

You could be exhaling too much (this is a very common issue) compared to how much you breathe in, which causes the loss of control with your notes. Love your videos firstly !! :) Since you said you were going to make a video on weight management, I was curious about something. I'd love it if you could talk about this in your upcoming video. Do companies focus on weight per se or looks? What I mean is different people weighing the same could look widely different. So is it enough to look lean and skinny or does the number on the scale matter as well?
Thank you in advance if you choose to answer this :)

So is there still stigma about seeking psychiatric help within companies? Will companies drop you? Do you think things have changed drastically???
I’m not so much into kpop but it’s nice hearing your perspective! I love how frank and informative you are! I keep hearing about “kpop experts” giving advice about auditions and sometimes it just irks me.

A few years ago, I heard in Korea that if you tell them you have depression or anything like that, they will not hire you, even for a simple job at coffee shop. It's so crazy.

songwriting can include composing melody and the beat of a song as well as lyrics; lyricists focus on lyrics

    Hello ~
I am very interested in JYP, especially what he places most important in creating a girl group among trainees.
Park Jin-young in an interview with overseas media (after Wonder Girls' success)
JYP no longer makes artist singers.
JYP will make a "star". He said.
And he said that the important meaning of "star" is each character they have.
I think JYP is an announcement that it will thoroughly focus on commercial music.
    Question
JYP company makes your debut, do you think skill is important?

Never saw any other people asking this so here I am hahahaha
Do you need to pay for the training? If yes, (I suppose it varies from company to company) can you give us an estimated amount? And what are the terms? Like I've read somewhere that there are companies that will let you train first THEN you'll have to pay for everything (the total amount that the company spent on you while training) when you debut. How true is this? If this is true and you ended up not debuting, will you have to pay for it no matter what? OMG.
