“In cases of difficult psychological diagnosis I usually get a horoscope in order to have a further point of view from an entirely different angle. I must say that I very often found that the astrological data elucidated certain points which I otherwise would have been unable to understand.” C. G. Jung (Letters I, p. 475).
C. G. Jung began his study of astrology while he was still working with Sigmund Freud. His initial interest in astrology seems to have been a study in the history of psychology. As he has said of astrology, “Its value is obvious enough to the psychologist, since astrology represents the sum of all the psychological knowledge of antiquity” (Jung, CW 15, par. 81). As he continued to explore astrology as a symbolic system he discovered that it was not only of historical, psychological, and symbolic importance, but that it was also of practical value. He developed his well-known theory of synchronicity as an attempt to explain why he achieved such unexplainable results using astrology. Jung understood astrology’s value as coming not so much from the stars, as from the deep archetypal layers of the collective unconscious. This video serves as an introduction to our eight week college level course on what Jung had to say about the cultural and psychological importance of astrology and astrological symbols.

All of the courses you have provided on UA-cam have made my familiarization/refamiliarization with Jung, depth psych, and ideas on consciousness extremely digestible. This continues to make social interactions and understanding what’s going on in our world more intriguing, wholesome, and meaningful! It’s like a reminder on what it means to be a human being. LOVE IT !!! THANKS !!! 🥰🤩🥰 In mid-70's is when I became introduced to Jung when was part of co-founders to the Toronto Guild of Astrologers. Most of the main founders were all professors of astro-physics and astronomy too as well was many conversations about Jung.

What I understand is that archetypes are a psycho- biological component of the human experience and that they’re a part of the *biology of the human brain* rather than the culture of any particular group, region or era.
In essence, archetypes are part of what makes us human

oh how our astrology is more than a sun sign if people would only actually study it they would see its purpose , it gave me light when trapped in the darkness of pure logic and cptsd ,where rationalization and defense mechanisms was the only way to maintain sanity , needing to find a answer a solution but how do you find a solution to the past what answer will make it right
Astrology (and psychology) showed me everything so all i could do is accept not blame others nor myself its simply Gods will for better or worst

My second oraculist occupant I studied is the modern astrology, but for personal reasons, I chose for the traditional astrology, but i would start to learn vedic modern astrology, I am curious if Jung influcied the vedic modern astrology.

To my knowledge, Jung did not study Vedic astrology. His focus was Western astrology. He began his study by reading Alan Leo who was popular at that time. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Leo
