    Sam tuned my GTR, he is the best tuner out there.

      Same here. My GTR makes 1340whp yet idles beautifully, the boost transition is phenomenal, mid range and partial-throttle is exceptional and his support via email is outstanding. I've been in many GTRs and mine is the best one yet from a calibration and drive ability standpoint.

      That’s a good idea, I might have to start doing that. I’ve thought about doing clips as well where it’s the bulk of each conversation in the 5-15 minute form.

    E85 and 98 RON blends have been super reliable here for me in Australia. I've never mixed it with 95 RON or 91.

    Really good episode loaded with geat info. My question is, is there a difference in cooling or latent heat of evaporation between pump e85 (70% e) and e98 out of a barrel?

    • @IlPinnacolo
      @IlPinnacolo 7 днів тому +1

      Yes. Alcohol has more latent heat of vaporization than gasoline and you have to burn more of it for a given mass of air and fuel mixture. Comparing the fuels alone by fuel mass, e98 has about 16.8% more latent heat, but when compared at their stoichiometric afr, the difference is even greater at 31.2%

    If running direct injection and port injection would it be beneficial to run 3 injectors?
    One in cylinder one on valve and one higher up in the port to assist with transient throttle?

    say running multi point port injection, injectors that sits in the intake runner aimed at the intake valve ( b230fk with 530 head and dished piston ) for example how much will a 4 hole injector vs a 1 hole injector matter? especially older engines when the only way to make a oem engine to get more hp is to step up from single hole 337cc / min Bosch made injector to a 420-430cc / min bosch made injector, direct injection lot oh hassles yes but how much of a problem is it for a 90`s engine with port injection?

    how about bad fuel that causes engine to have very little ignition advance and that causes higher exhaust temps and might start to melt valves when pushed hard on hot day

    Direct injection has been around since 1925. It's nothing new. Mitsubishi introduced and mass produced an electronic direct injection system for their vehicles in 1996.

  • @78cobra

    Sam barros, you stated. Running c116 on a car not tuned will make less power. That that is a myth. I uave to 100% disagree. I have extensive experience with my 94 fzr 1000. This is a carburetor bike to note your "myth" might not be taking in. I religiously loost .2 in the 1/4 mile when going from 87 octane to 100 pump and even 116 drum octane.

    • @Powerlabs
      @Powerlabs 7 днів тому

      I suspect the issue here was most likely air/fuel ratio. These race fuels you were running have very different viscosities and densities from pump gas and your carburetor has no way to account for that. In a modern engine with fuel injection AFR is held constant and it would not be common to see any difference in power.

    You guys sound all knowledgeable until you got to the birth of the turbo segment, oh wow, I learnt this stuff when I was in primary school. FYI, before ww2 and try doing a search of Auto Union. That was cringe guys, stick to what you know.

    • @Powerlabs

      Pretty sure the Auto Union race cars were supercharged, not turbocharged? At least all the ones I have seen in museums have a roots blower coming right out of the front of the engine.
