If you don't know anchorage is like a huge cargo hub because its location and connects the western part of the world to the eastern and also it sits pretty close to the north pole.
Basically, ANC is the half-way-point and refueling depot for cargo airlines. The 747s are usually carrying max payloads (max weight) and burn a lot more fuel crossing the Northern Pacific than a passenger carrying 747.
Damn dat 748 got a big @$$! Did it stop over as a scheduled refuel or cargo pick up/drop? GREAT SHOT! Hey! How’d you stay warm? Looks cold AF! 🤣🤣🤣 Must’ve had some warm thoughts of our island sun and cool breezes huh?! 😉 Mahalo for the vids! Aloha 🤙🏽
Kalei K haha I think the temperature that day was just slightly above freezing. Actually, you can kinda see half-frozen rain falling. Pretty much all of these cargo jets you see use Anchorage as a stop to refuel and do a crew change. Cargo doesn’t actually get offloaded here most of the times, just on the few flights that are specifically destined for Anchorage. Mahalo again!
aps_ak - AH! I SEE! Refueling stop?! On a 748F?! Das a heavy load! That one from HKG -> KEN, I can see but Seoul -> ORD?! Oh yeah....crew change. Prolly timed out huh?! Maaan....when you get here, we gotta go hang out and do some spotting of our own! I can get us on base if needed. LMK! Aloha no!
Kalei K From what I understand, the take on less fuel than they can so they can take on more cargo - it's apparently make more business sense that way. Anchorage airport is the 5th busiest cargo in the world because of this. Getting close to reef runway in HNL would be cool!
would love more videos like this. Thanks for taking the time to film, edit and post. I know its time consuming :)
Absolutely brilliant

Thanks I always wondered why so many 747’s went there ... now I know!!

Is it just me, or does anyone else love the MD-11s?
Sexy as fuck especially the ones in the ups livery’s
I like my planes like I like my AR15’s.... 3 holes
@@22640cal Am I missing something? Don't pretty much all rifles and even shotguns have three holes? Nozzle, ejection port, and magazine.
@@Jasonhb07 3 holes in the lower receiver of an AR... the full auto hole is meant for full auto
what a nice departure push w/ arrivals. Like clockwork
Its rush hour in the mornings at times over Anchorage. One after another after another, the big ones you swear are hardly moving.

Was the Omni Air in the beginning passenger or cargo?
I believe Omni is a passenger charter company. From the outside, the 772 looked like a passenger aircraft.
