- This video explains how to draw shear force diagram & bending moment diagram in case of a simply supported beam with overhang on both sides & carrying point load at the end.
The problem statement for overhanging beam SFD and BMD is as follows:
A beam of length 12m has overhanging of 3m on left and right leaving the span between the support of 6m.It carries UDL of 8KN/m over the entire length and a concentrated load of 10KN at the right extreme end. Draw SFD and BMD and find the point of contra flexure, if any.

Wish I could find a resource for turning these diagrams into force polygons. I really can’t figure out the Bows notation for these complexly-loaded beams with multiple distributed, multiple point loads, multiple supports and asymmetrical support points.
Please can you solve this same question but with point loads at both ends
Next video
With point load at the end and it's important !!
Sir then what is the point of contraflaxur
The point at which the bending moment diagram changes its sign.
@@CHINMAY_ACADEMY I'm asking where is the point of contra.. in this
Question? Because BMD of this q is not changing any sign.
@Trending Search There is no point of contrflexure here in this question
The udl on left and right will be multiplied by 3 u didn't take that
Please watch the video carefully !!! We have considered it !!
Sir please make a video on a cantilever with Uvl starting zero from fixed left and to maximum at right free end
And ssb with Uvl starting from zero at right end to maximum at centre
