This song brings back so many good memories for me. I was a Walt Disney World Cast Member in 1998. I worked at the attraction "O Canada" and had a great time. Even though I've listened to this song each day while I worked there, it now bring tears of joy to my eyes and of very fond memories that have lasted since I left. I have to agree with the other comments that this is my favorite version of this song. Thank you for posting it. :)
What a wonderful experience that must have been, I was pleased to see they still have the attraction when I visited last year and even though the song is a different version it's still full of emotion.
When I hear Anne Murray and her duet partner sing “Oh Canada”, I’m reminded of the fantastic Canadian exhibit at EPCOT years ago. I’ll never forget it and will always cherish the soothing harmonies of the theme song and enchanting cinematography of our neighbor’s country to the north. Thank you for the brief moment of joy and peace it brings to watch this UA-cam video produced years ago!
Wow you were! You should sing it on your channel. If you do let me know and Ill check it out! You are one of the voices of my childhood, I would visit this attraction every year!
What is it about the Oh Canada show at Disney World? We visited there in 1996 then moved to Orlando, FL in 3 months. We lived there for a decade and had two wonderful children then moved back to Texas. Something so heart warming about the Oh Canada exhibit and this glorious song!
I haven't been to EPCOT Center since 2002. We visited about 9 times from 1988 until then (from the UK). The original attractions were the best, like Horizons and Universe Of Energy, and Spaceship Earth with Walter Cronkite.
During my days in radio, the morning show on air personality would often play this track due to his visit to Epcot. The song and its arrangement would move me to tears.
I have been singing this song since 1980 when I was 10 and visited from Texas. I wanted to move to Canada just because of this song. I have the CD and listen to it when I want to song a song as loud as I can... I LOVE IT!!!
When I was at the Canada exhibit, after watching the Video and listening to this song in 2011 I left the place telling myself I was gonna move to that Country. 2014 applied to become a Permanent Resident, landed here last January. Thanks Epcot, thanks Disney for helping me make my dream come true!!!
I first went to see this in the early 1980's and fell in love with Canada and yet have still not been but I still play the music and promise myself that I WILL visit someday. It is on my 'bucket list'. Just don't change things to much Disney, the song and music is truly inspirational.
I just got back from Epcot. When I heard the new version, I was so afraid I'd never hear the original again, I asked a cast member. It took him a while to dig up the information, but here it is: "Canada, You're a Lifetime Journey" sung by John Zov and Juanice Charmaine. The original film ran from 1982 through early 2007.
I remember this song so well! A little cheesy, as a teenager, to listen to. Saying that, the song has stuck with me through the past 20 years - that's amazing!
This made an impression on me too! I have wonderful memories of this song. I played this for my hubby & daughter, swaying & singing along like an idiot. They stared at me like I was crazy, and I don't even care:) REALLY enjoyed this!
It has been almost 10 years since my last visit in Canada. Maybe I will visit Canada again some day. I also think Canada is the most awesome place to visit.
i went with my cousins and family. we love this song. there are three people. my cousin, me, and my little brother. my cousin starts low, i follow a smidge higher, and my brother finishes with his shrill 5 year old voice. BEST FREAKING SONG EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol the geese crack me up because where I live in NW Florida there's a group of Canadian geese who flew down years ago, but they never go back even in the hot summer! They like it here and go from pond to pond and eat from the vast boggy sports fields. ( FSU and Famu ) and they live part of the time behind a Mall! They strut around like they own the place and they hold up traffic! They are cute! BEAUTIFUL SONG BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY! I saw a tiny bit of it last year at Niagara Falls. GB
+Oldgames1000 I was at this exhibit just two weeks ago in Epcot. Seems they still play this song. The experience left wanting to explore the real thing.
Really good memories for Ann and me---taking you to Canada(both eastern and western). 1990--B.C. and Alberta (Yoho, Lake Louise, etc.); 1994--N. Brunswick, Nova Scotia, P.E.I. Our great neighbors of the North!
AGREED! the current one sucks. if they REALLY wanted to change it keep the male vocal but switch out the female vocalist for someone who could pronounce the fFrench words better (that was one of the reasons they changed it,but imo it DIDN'T need the pop treatment it has now.
@chocaholic269 it was this song originally, but they recently redid the entire show and rerecorded the song with the winner of Canada's Pop Idol or Canada's Got Talent or something.
Ill be invading canada in just over 3 weeks! flying into Vancouver to catch a cruise to Alaska:) And I live in the home of Disney, great being able to drive 20mins to go watch shows like this. Now Look Canada, you better not be cold when I get there, its been 85 here!!! hehe
I was in Toronto a few weeks for work. Had to make a doctor's visit for a minor issue. I walked into a Healthy Clinic in the middle of a work day. Waited about 10 minutes, saw a doctor and was about in about 30 minutes. it takes a long time for me to see a cot or on "superior" US Health Plan (through my employer with a large insurance company, non-government). and there ya go.
I'm sorry this took a while for me to reply but I am a Canadian and took travel and tourism in a Canadian college so if anyone can answer this correctly it's me. Also including the fact that I've actually been there it's the royal tyrell museum. It is the oldest dinosaur exhibit although the building is quite new it's the place where the first dinosaur fossil was found as well as the first place that albertosaurus was discovered.
I used to work for Disney over 20 years ago and that is how long I have been looking for this song. I can't believe I finally found it on UA-cam. Why didn't I check before? Thank you for posting it. I would go to this exhibit at Epcot over and over just to listen to this song. Do you know where I can download it or who sings it? Thank You!!
Huh, I actually don't mind the new version of the song at EPCOT right now. I thought it stayed pretty loyal to the original tune. Heck, I thought the renovation to the ride in general was welcome. Sure, it doesn't have the same mystical feeling the original had, but I enjoyed the humor in it and how it still managed to capture Canada in a good light. Or, maybe I just need to ride it again to clarify my thoughts. :P
Dee Her, is there a CD with just this song on it or is it a full album with other songs? I would love to know where to get a copy of it. Thank you for any help and God Bless
@@robquin1525 Haven't visited Epcot since 2002 regrettably. Must have been there about 10 times during the 1990s and also 1988. Hopefully it hasn't changed too much since then.
@HBBabe94 neither am i. if I were an imagineer woorking on this attraction I would re-record that section of music but change that last part of the orchestral intro from C to A just so the mistake that is the current version of the song is corrected although i might have Eva re-record the female vocal track as i've *heard* the woman who did it here mispronounced a few things
@Luciferminusone horrible? Are you french canadian or french? I mean getting an english speaking canadian to sing the french version it sounds like. It's just funny :) No harm but they could have at least taken a quebecois singer :) (common celine dion and many more, quebecois people rule the culture in canada so many resources it couldnt be that hard!!! :)
For everybody that says that this is the best version, you don’t know French. As a French Canadian, I don’t even understand the French part of this song. I was embarrassed that a version like that represented Canada's bilingualism.
Typical French pepper comment. Ever consider that maybe we’re embarrassed about the French in our country? Count yourself lucky that any French at all was used in this song.
Yes this song was sang by Eva Avila who won the Canadian idol or something.. And that was at the Epcot Disney which it sounds soo much better than this man singing. This guy turns this song to like a country music. l wish I can find full good quality of Eva singing this by herself.
I had this song on a cassette tape of EPCOT. Still love it.

My mom used to cry while watching this at the attraction. We' re not even Canadians. She passed away some years ago, but this warms my heart. Thanks!
sorry for your loss
I still cry, love to your mom in heaven
Omg so sorry for your loss have a lovely life ❤

I was the male vocalist in 1982

Oh my god it really was you. I recognize the voice!
Your voice has stirred hundreds of thousands ❤️

Wow - that's an incredible story.
That's awesome! Welcome!
Awesome! Enjoy it, eh!
That's so cool!
you could have just walked in... no one cares about borders anymore
im soo glad i found this.....this song has been stuck in my head since i was 9. im 33 now. my brain can finally sleep.
Brings a lot of memories of EPCOT!
I first went to see this in the early 1980's and fell in love with Canada and yet have still not been but I still play the music and promise myself that I WILL visit someday. It is on my 'bucket list'. Just don't change things to much Disney, the song and music is truly inspirational.
Thanks for the memories. While I was enjoying the music and scenery my three kids fell asleep.
the Bass work on this tune is top notch!
I love this so much. Disney memories but makes me want to see Canada. Looks beautiful 💓 x
Such a wonderful melody in the refrain that sounds likethe swooping prairies. I've never forgotten it and I've never been to Epcot.
Love this song. So beautiful.
The original has the deep horns. Grew up on the original and it was my favorite.
So incredibly beautiful!!!!!
Thanks for posting the original version of this song. This was part of the reason I enjoyed the Canada presentation.
Love this version. Finally bought it on EBAY. It was on a tinker bell childrens cd.
Took me hours to find it.
Leoma Lovegrove I had the CD and I used to listen to it all the time in the car, along with It's Fun to Be Free and Golden Dream

I really missed that older song when I was on that ride/show last time...thank you so very much for preserving it!! GB
Can we just make this the Canadian National Anthem?
Wonderful performance. The best version of this great piece. Congratulations!
Great song! Great scenery!
I can imagine how this song filled you with a sense of wonder.
Brings back great memories, thanks for the upload.
It has been almost 10 years since my last visit in Canada. Maybe I will visit Canada again some day. I also think Canada is the most awesome place to visit.
Stunning song!
Simply beautiful
THANK YOU CANADA,,,,
Epcot is awesome! It is a celebration of the richness and diversity of different cultures.
I really love both versions. It's become kind of a funny joke with some of my friends, as we all randomly break out into a the chorus.
My fav version. Maybe because it´s part of my memories.
I love my home and native land!
i went with my cousins and family. we love this song. there are three people. my cousin, me, and my little brother. my cousin starts low, i follow a smidge higher, and my brother finishes with his shrill 5 year old voice. BEST FREAKING SONG EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A classic!
I just found out they updated the song for the attraction. It sounds nice but, this is still the best. Thanks for posting it destroyahdes.

i am a canadian and this song is miraculous
Oml I went to the Canada show in Epcot xD not even from Canada but it was amusing!
I miss this song from the exhibit so much. Its a shame they renovated it!
+Oldgames1000 I was at this exhibit just two weeks ago in Epcot. Seems they still play this song. The experience left wanting to explore the real thing.
I can confirm it is a different song at the Epcot Canada exhibit than this one
+Oldgames1000 nope. Same lyrics, just a different singer.
Really good memories for Ann and me---taking you to Canada(both eastern and western). 1990--B.C. and Alberta (Yoho, Lake Louise, etc.); 1994--N. Brunswick, Nova Scotia, P.E.I. Our great neighbors of the North!
This is the best version of the song....the only!!!!
AGREED! the current one sucks. if they REALLY wanted to change it keep the male vocal but switch out the female vocalist for someone who could pronounce the fFrench words better (that was one of the reasons they changed it,but imo it DIDN'T need the pop treatment it has now.
Danny Eyheralde things change. this is obviously dated.
Is this the original song? When did they change it?
NABEntertainment This is the original. It was updated in 2007.
Did the original have Martin Short?
Thank God for the classics!! I'm not a huge fan of the new Canada song.
I believe they still play this song now, just a different version.
Happy Canada day 2015 - Have to listen to this again on this day
This is my favorite version of this song although the new version is great.
Great memories on this one. Although it would be great if one of the lines was "Canada...where the Cup hasn't been since '93"
@chocaholic269 it was this song originally, but they recently redid the entire show and rerecorded the song with the winner of Canada's Pop Idol or Canada's Got Talent or something.
Nice!

That is the new version, this is the old one

Was just at Epcot and it’s this song but a different recording
This is the original version of the song and I feel it's the better version
do you have any other beautiful songs about canada
Much better than the new version
What is that building at 2:15??
I'm sorry this took a while for me to reply but I am a Canadian and took travel and tourism in a Canadian college so if anyone can answer this correctly it's me. Anne Murray is one of the singers.
Bro im in Canada for my first time and I'm listening to this
ive never had a song make me so happy
is the full video available and who are the singers? love this version!
In the original version of the film, it was sung by John Zov and Juanice Charmaine
RIP to the old Canada show with Martin Short

COOL!!!
can someone post the french and then post the translation ?
When did the stop using this version?
Well obviously the blend in with the woke modern audience
@@robquin1525 Haven't visited Epcot since 2002 regrettably. Must have been there about 10 times during the 1990s and also 1988. Hopefully it hasn't changed too much since then.
the newer version that disney made of this song doesn't compare to this. why do they have to ruin things. awesome song, thanks for posting
nice
This is great and I'm not even Canadian.
my dad mom and I love this song
Can anyone tell me who is singing this version of the song?
I want to see canada, and im not far away! U.S.A and I havent seen it yet!!! Then again im only 18 haha
always went to this when we were waiting for the firework show

🙏💖🙏
@chocaholic269 The womaqn you heard singing (or imho) butchering this great song was Eva Avila
So much better than the "re-make"
Crossing the border right now!
Don’t miss it
although the version on that CD is the crappy pop update done for the 2007 versiion of the film
went in the 1990s.. felt so proud being a Canadian hearing this and watching the film back then... new version sounds generic and lacks heart
Did Anne Murray originally sing this?
Dude... me too!@LukeSleaa
I thought the woman was Julie Masse…..but it is someone else. Its good
canada...canada....*music note*
Yes this song was sang by Eva Avila who won the Canadian idol or something.. And that was at the Epcot Disney which it sounds soo much better than this man singing. This guy turns this song to like a country music. l wish I can find full good quality of Eva singing this by herself.
I am fluent in French but do not understand a word she sings.
