I’m running Joaquin with my darkhawk Ronin deck, mainly use it for Korg so it fills up their deck with junk and iceman so they’re more likely to keep a card in their hand. It has been working surprisingly well.

That's exactly my deck since Tuesday, but I run Ice Man instead of AV, by choice of course... You want to do two 1 drops on turn 2 or Black Swan so that you can start boucing them with Beast or Toxin before you start playing them in Joaquin's lane. On turn 5 you bounce everything with Falcon, activate Black Swan, and then play a millon points with 0 cost 1 drops, Sage and Hit Monkey

Crazy winrates with her, and scarlet spider and galacta have improved her even more, with skaar being a very effective addition to those decks. I think the pasted decklist I commented got deleted, probably looked like spam hahaha Zabu, psylocke, hulk buster, Jeff, deathlock, Wong, Scarlet spider, galacta, white tiger, namora, Odin, skaar Deathlock has been great for cleaning up junk, and hulkbuster makes zabu or psylocke into viable namora targets to get skaar out. Also worth noting if you want to go for a more disruptive kind of deck or card generating deck where you're not using cards like Rocket or Silversable to gain more power you can use Misery after dropping Joaquin on a lane with 1 drops like Hood. Should double proc it before they get killed while not killing Joaquin himself and opening up the lane to play them. Pair it along with Maria hill or Agent 13 with Viktoria Hand late turn and drop some surprising power on the final turn.

I think he might have utility in other decks. Someone in the comments mentioned Thanos, Mill seems to have good stats so far, and people are experimenting with Morbius Discard with gambit. This card will only get better with more on reveal cards as well.

The best playline for Torres would be: 1. Have Black Swan on board by T4 2. Play 1-costs on curve 3. Playout all the bounce engine (Toxin / Beast /Falcon) from T3-5 3. Play Torres + Hit Monkey + 1 cost vomit on T6 Playing Torres on curve might not be as effective because he messed up bounce gameplan and he limits card placement
Tbf I find him extremely dependent with HM and Swan in bounce, as someone who plays bounce without those (pretty well in infinite since AV release) wasting a T3 on setting him up and probably not bouncing just to get him is VERY clunky and you don’t have the punch to win lanes specially in this meta of big cards He’s pretty good on disruption with Yondus/Korg/Iceman and Gorr, DH, Ronan Can put up the bigger numbers you’re missing
Joachin Torres already doesn't work. The best example is Yondu. Simple "on reveal" ability, and playing Torres there DOES NOT cause his ability to "activate twice." Playing the cards in the opposite order to that (Torres then Yondu) works correctly. The break is that because Torres is an "ongoing" card, his card text should function for cards played prior OR after he is played.. just like Luke Cage, whose "ongoing" ability negate damage done in all ripe game turns, as well as negating damage done in turns subsequent to Luke Cage being played. Torres should be able to be played at locations where "on reveal" cards are already played, and cause them to "activate twice" also, per the way Luke Cage does the same thing.
Sadly I am missing Toxin. So will probably skip on Torres too since both are so essential to bounce these days, and my old bounce decks just can't thrive in this current meta.
So I’ve been running him in Bounce and it’s pretty hit or miss but I have one time where I got a game with Onslaught’s Citadel and got Silver Sable to like 19 power (she was hit by my Agent Venom prior)
I think snap needs to rework this card. let me explain if you have a location or cards that reduce the cost of your cards and you have a 3 or 4 cost cards that costs 1 and you play it then those cards should be included with this featured card.

I really like bounce, and Joaquin for that matter. My only problem with bounce in general is that it has nearly 0 tech or defensive options- would be cool to see them add a Nico type of card, that works more defensively tho
I'm in the same situation, I'm a certified bounce enjoyer and I'm yet to be convinced torres is any more than a flavour of the month for the archetype. It doesn't help that next season looks absolute fire.
swapped black swan and agent venom for grandmaster and marvel boy, got my rocket to 23 power one game. when it pops off, it definitely pops off. been trying to make your brew with selene but it definitely still feels like cope lol. and for me, trying to get JTF and moonstone together is too awkward and greedy, not worth it. wished they synergized better.

Alex is 100% right about clogging your hand with Demons. My solution to this was play Yondu and delete your opponents drawing deck.
The Namora, Scarlet Spider & Cpt. Marvel package is fantastic in High Voltage mode for anyone that is rolling for it.
i love that iceman can slip in to some of these joaquin decks, i just wish it wasn't bounce. would love to play iceman more often to annoy people
