I'm not that deep of a cinephile enough to have seen most of the dude's movies but his credits speak for themselves and his students as well. Dude deserves all the respect.
It never fails to surprise me that he started so many stars onto their careers, and special effects artists we take for granted today, such as James Cameron.
Corman has probably trained more successful actors and directors then any film school ever could. He saw the potential in people and was willing to take chances.
Corman's one of my favourite filmmakers. His '50s monster flicks do nothing for me, but I was won over by his Poe films. They, along with _Bride of Frankenstein_ , are the pictures that convinced me cinema is a legitimate artform.
Great video! Roger Corman deserves a spotlight. Not only did he pave the way for countless to follow but he made legit great films, especially the Poe cycle ones!
I fondly remember back when Mystery Science Theater 3000 was airing and you could watch them riff on an old Roger Corman movie, then flip through the channels and end up watching a new Roger Corman movie. Those were fun times to watch cable.
I remember watching Carnosaur as a kid in the 90's. That's the only Roger Corman movie I watched though I definitely want to check his movies from the 50's.
James I have a request! You remember "Action 52"? There was an even crappier compilation for the ZX Spectrum called "Cassette 50". The worst collection of games ever released. It would be HILARIOUS to see you review it!
Fascinating to learn more about Corman! He had such an astounding career and deserves more recognition. On that note, I'd love to see a video with your thoughts on The Haunted Palace in particular! That's my favorite of Corman's Poe movies, partly because it's actually a Lovecraft story (The Case of Charles Dexter Ward) in disguise, lol.
the legend (corman) has a producer credit on SHARKTOPUS VS WHALEWOLF and if anyone knew how much i love that movie i'd be locked up for my own safety 🤘
Mr. Corman, the king that gave James Cameron and Gale Ann Hurd their chance to shine on lots of projects that pretty much were some sort of mockbusters or rip-offs like the Asylum one but even more charming, for example, "Battle Beyond the Stars"-Corman's Star Wars, and"Galaxy of Terror"-in which James Cameron designed some if the sets and creature as well as pretty much giving us a peak of what Aliens will be in the following years, as well as putting 2 horror legends together Robert Englund and Sid Haig. And let's not forget his cameo in Silence of the Lambs. Mad respect for Mr. Corman.
Fun fact: I skipped my friend’s wedding years ago to attend a live riffing of Cinematic Titanic’s skewering of “The Wasp Woman.” I do not regret my actions at all. I have to credit “Mystery Science Theater 3000” for introducing me to Corman. They may not have been fans of his output, but their introduction for me paved the way to an appreciation for a maverick of cinema.
I remember seeing this and just being frozen with sharp shock thinking he had died. When it really happened Saturday, it was less shock and more just defeat. The film world is less enjoyable and adventurous without Corman.
Hey James! Big fan here of all your work. For Monster Madness you should do Hotel Transylvania. They have a ton of wonderful monsters in it! Just saying.
So would the "Anti-Hollywood Holy Trinity" be Roger Corman, Ed Wood, & William Castle? If so, what kind of horror movie would he have gotten if they had teamed up? Thoughts that randomly pop in my head, I guess.
I still get surprised whenever I see his name pop up in films. I watched Dementia 13 a few days ago for my Halloween marathon and it was a delight to see his name in there, even though I wasn’t that much of a fan of the film itself. Hail to the king… of B-horror!

*_Did Corman never do Lovecraft?_*
*When are you going to review the Soulja Boy Console??*
Roger Corman, William Castle, and Ed Wood. The Trinity of B-movies.
OutDEER Gear?
Roger Corman sadly passed away at age 98 on May 9. May his fabulous creations live on. ❤
I'm not that deep of a cinephile enough to have seen most of the dude's movies but his credits speak for themselves and his students as well. Dude deserves all the respect.
Even if you haven't seen a lot of his work you've certainly heard of plenty of them.
Jeez James, you nearly gave me a heart attack. I thought Corman had died!
Same!
The quickest search I’ve ever done lol
Me too I went on Google
He is 96.
Me too.
I'm currently watching ALL of his movies, I'm on 1957 now. I love Corman!
Haha.
It never fails to surprise me that he started so many stars onto their careers, and special effects artists we take for granted today, such as James Cameron.
No matter if you love, or hate Roger Corman's movies, there is no denying the mark he's left on decades of cinema. 👍
I absolutely love his works and you're right no denying his legacy on the cinema
Who hates Roger's Movies???
RIP to Roger Corman
Corman has probably trained more successful actors and directors then any film school ever could. He saw the potential in people and was willing to take chances.
October is the best month for TRUE cinemassacre content!
Paper, watch the original "The Haunting." No blood. No gore, and it will scare the you-know-what out of you.
Rip Roger corman
Corman's one of my favourite filmmakers. His '50s monster flicks do nothing for me, but I was won over by his Poe films. They, along with _Bride of Frankenstein_ , are the pictures that convinced me cinema is a legitimate artform.
I got freaked out for a brief period and thought Corman had passed!
Same here, phew.
Dude, same. Wth.
Hey that was a great video I didn’t know much about him until now. Thanks man!
Corman is the man!!!
Roger Coreman is legendary, thanks for great vid!
I've been really enjoying your Monster Madness series this year. Thank you, James.
Great video! Roger Corman deserves a spotlight. Not only did he pave the way for countless to follow but he made legit great films, especially the Poe cycle ones!
Thanks for making this one James. You nailed it, especially at the end.
Great Video James! Bucket of Blood is my favorite. Corman is King. Hope to work with you again some day!
One of the most impressive things about Corman is that he never lost money on a movie.
My old boss & this tribute is BEAUTIFUL
George Corman. Cannon Films. Italian Cinema. Those were the best days of Hollywood, when films were fun and entertaining.
RIP, Roger Corman! ❤
Great tribute.
This was so sweet and inspiring!!!
I fondly remember back when Mystery Science Theater 3000 was airing and you could watch them riff on an old Roger Corman movie, then flip through the channels and end up watching a new Roger Corman movie. Those were fun times to watch cable.
Terrific! I love b movies and new Cinemassacre!
Man he’s the guy who paved the way for the 🐐
Watching this instead of the dozens of "Cinemassacre Bad" videos. James is an inspiration to me, just as Corman is an inspiration to him.
Thank you Mr Corman 🙏🏽👍🏾
I absolutely admire the guy who is frugal with his budget.
It's far more impressive to hear how much a producer saved than how much they spent.
You should do one of these about James Whale. I think his movies are very entertaining and are mostly regarded as golden era classics.
I love a lot of the Roger Corman films. It conquered the World has never been on DVD.
I remember watching Carnosaur as a kid in the 90's. That's the only Roger Corman movie I watched though I definitely want to check his movies from the 50's.
R.I.P. Roger Corman 5/9/24.🎃
I watched just a few months ago Carnosaur 1 and 2 and Bloodfist 3. The name Roger Corman always jumps out of nowhere
James I have a request! You remember "Action 52"? There was an even crappier compilation for the ZX Spectrum called "Cassette 50". The worst collection of games ever released. It would be HILARIOUS to see you review it!
keep up the great work james love love the content
You're one of the most awesome people in the world. Thank you for keeping me entertained for so long.
Next you got to do a full retrospective on William Castle and his movies.
RIP Roger Corman

In this episode of James making his viewers think someone has died with a sketchy video title: Roger Corman.
RIP roger corman
the legend (corman) has a producer credit on SHARKTOPUS VS WHALEWOLF and if anyone knew how much i love that movie i'd be locked up for my own safety 🤘
I really respect the wholesome nature outside of the nerd
He's such a genuine guy.
Corman was a true cinematic genius....
My favorite Roger Corman film is the 1968 Psych Out, Jack Nicholson's most far out role
KEEP IT UP JAMES !
Frankenstein Unbound is my favorite movie of his.

Awesome know learn bout this
Francis Coppola is a producer of the Jeepers creepers film trilogy
Hey James! Big fan here of all your work. For Monster Madness you should do Hotel Transylvania. They have a ton of wonderful monsters in it! Just saying.
I would love you doing an Interview with him, i mean the guy is old and no one did it yet.
An excellent director.
People with long careers must be appreciated
So would the "Anti-Hollywood Holy Trinity" be Roger Corman, Ed Wood, & William Castle? If so, what kind of horror movie would he have gotten if they had teamed up? Thoughts that randomly pop in my head, I guess.
Very cool stuff!
There are classic B movies then there are ”modern” B movies
Love his movies
Didn't Austin McConnell buy the rights to the Spanish version of the Terror? Such a crazy story that's still continuing.
You made me think that he died.
Ohhhhhhh
Bob
if they haven't, they should name a street leading into Hollywood after him
Great video.
Now I'm curious to watch 'The Terror'.
I give this review 100 points for killing it.🤔😁
James just talking > any other cinemassacre content
Nice
My favourite Corman film is perhaps’Death Race’.
Death Race 2000!!!
more money always means better story james, you only have to see the rings of power to agree with me.
Outdeer gear? 01:41

Bro I thought he died!!!
Could you imagine being That Keinan girl?
Mac and me is the best
You say buried wrong
Corman is 92, both of his sons are litigiously suing him, and he’s STILL MAKING FILMS. Complete legend.
RIP 😔✊️
Just like the Mel Brooks video, I for a second assumed the guy died. It's cool that James pays tribute to living legends he loves
@@markdavid40 jim milton
The man just passed away at 98 years old, and it still feels too soon.
I got some bad news
Mr Corman is one of those figures that deserves more love for his contributions to cinema, culture & entertainment as a whole
RIP
Roger Corman, William Castle, and Ed Wood. The Trinity of B-movies.
RIP Roger Corman
RIP Roger Corman - The King of B movies (1926-2024).
Corman hates being called "The B Movie King", but I think he should wear that title with pride. People genuinely love his work!
Nothing wrong with Bmovies. B movies usually have a bad rap because of films like Sharknado. But to me B movies just mean "not A-list movies"
i think "b movie" holds a different meaning now than it did in his era
Better than being the king of C-movies.
He prefers king of exploitation Cinema.
Farewell Roger, thank you for EVERYTHING.
"We have a castle and Boris Karloff. Go."
This. This is genius.
Corman is 92, both of his sons are litigiously suing him, and he’s STILL MAKING FILMS. Complete legend.
He is 96
A couple of those litigious suing's ey...
imagine suing your dad over some nonsense. scummy.
What are they suing him for?
@@0neDoomedSpaceMarine Money, of course.
This guy's produced almost as many films as James Rolfe, incredible!
As if we're not aware
?

Ed Wood got Bela Lugosi, Corman got Karloff. This could have been an amazing crossover.
Roger Corman, William Castle, and Ed Wood. The Trinity of B-movies.
My biggest idol in cinema, i don't care what people think about his movies, he is the man, a true artist.
You made my nervous, thankfully Roger Corman isn’t dead.
It's great to see everyone is in the Halloween mood.
I like these kind of videos where James talks about something he's passionate about.
Me too , or the other side of the coin when we get some real anger
@@kevinrhea7332 Yes. Anger or frustration. But this is a welcomed type of entry on the catalog, even if it seems they don't get that many views.
