it's hard to believe that dallas would had been the number one offense after what the bears did to them. especially considering that the dolphins hung 38 on that same bears team.
I'll never forget watching that live as a kid. I'm 9 in 1985 & my Dad told me not to watch after that reverse angle showed the leg literally snap below the knee. So brutal.
There was a time when Ken O'Brien appeared to be as good as Marino and Elway. He got benched in 1986, and Greg Lloyd took a cheap shot to his head. He just became an average QB after that. But, I don't think he was a bust.
Agree! He was not a bust. In 85-86, he was as good as any QB in the game. Probably drafted higher than he should have been but he has some great moment s. Although social media wasn't out yet, 1985 was all about the Bears. They dominated on the field and all available media sources. AstroTurf really enhanced their pass rush. Great post !
Kenny O had the awful Rich Kotite & Joe Walton as his coordinators & Head Coaches for much of his Jets tenure. They never utilized him properly, never adapted, never used the shotgun. Terrible Coaching was the Jets downfall in the 80s when they had some really good teams.
Always beautiful when MY Cowboys win in RFK. This was one of my favorite Cowboys wins of all time. Jeffcoat had 5 sacks. The Cowboys going into the 85 Draft tried all day to trade up to get Eddie Brown or Jerry Rice but they could not get a deal. They had nothing after Hill and Renfro at wide out. Drew Pearson tried to make a comeback but Dr's would not clear him, if he took a certain hit he would have died to internal bleeding. So the Cowboys unlike any season since 1977 unleashed Dorsett and he caught two bomb for TD's here vs the Redskins and vs Pittsburgh. This was the last time the Cowboys played a THiesmann led Redskins team. This win finished the SWEEP of the 85 Redskins....YAY!!
used to love this show when i was a kid. it was on every Saturday afternoon
I like the extended highlights they had then. Today, we get the last scoring play followed by ten minutes of four people debating.
Love these!!! Please post more if you have them, you have a new subscriber here!

Theismann's last full game, before the graphic broken leg the following Monday night.

@@rustykuntz94 Other than Jack Tatum trying to kill Darryl Stringley in a pre-season game, it's the worst thing I ever saw on a football field.
Rusty Kuntz Joe Theismann was the best quarterback ever for Washington Redskins
@00:32 look at that move Tony D puts on Darrell Green.
One of John Stallworths greatest catches!!!!! Hall of fame!!!

This is awesome
This is amazing. Do you have the whole 85 season?
Who knew miami was about to go on and beat up on 85 chicago bears 😅😅😥
Back when the QBs head was the target and the turf was just green fuzz on top of concrete.
Stallworth's catch @ 12:14 is as impressive a grab as Swann's was in SB X.

Exactly, the Jets in the mid eighties had some really talented teams.
