  • As the Blackpool Illuminations season is now upon us it is time to have a quick look back at some of the highlights of the 2018 lights and fireworks extravaganza.
This video is the culmination of 5 nights tramping up and down the miles of promenade in all weathers in search of unusual angles and shots that maybe have not being done before, and some of the more usual sights such as the decorated trams and the tableaus.
There is a fair bit of airborne footage in here too, particularly from the world fireworks championships in September, which were won by Canada in 2018.
In between all this are a few facts and figures about the history of the oldest seaside lightshow in the world, in the town known as "The Las Vegas of the North".
Hopefully this will be a lasting reminder of the Blackpool Illuminations season of 2018.

Thanks. An awful lot of time and work goes into this type of video, and it is very rewarding when it goes well. Despite a few rough edges that need adjusting, this video turned out OK.

@@airshowvision I can well imagine how much work is in this video. And it looks like the official trailer for this lightshow. Maybe you can offer it to the organizers?

Can't honestly remember, there are 3 tracks I think, all from the UA-cam library.
