This is the same mistake they made in diablo 3 until they decided to remove the barriers to the difficulties. Diablo 4 just circling diablo 3 development.
Yup and guess what comes next? Season 7 will introduce torment 5-6, then season 8 will introduce Torment 7-8 etc exactly what they did with Diablo 3. It's a formula to keep players coming back "Oh new content and harder difficulty"
Preach! They didn't learn nothing from mistakes that previous developers made!
@@TryllHDTv when i first saw the thumbnail I was confused and thought they WERE going to have torments 7-8 etc like diablo 3 but it's just to torment 4 lol
more difficulties isn't an issue, it is the separation of servers per difficulty that is an issue. if difficulties for torment worked the same as mind cage, they could even add torment 100, no problem since people get awarded and everyone can play together regardless if they can do t60 or 100

Let us not forget this is the same design team that had to be reminded (aggressively) with player feedback during alpha that the game FONT should look like Diablo font… they thought not using Diablo font would make the game more ‘readable’ lol….. totally out of touch. That was the first clue.

I don't see a problem with making content easier and more accessible. Granted id rather see just every build be solid so there were less meta builds and you can play thematically makes sense and then seek out gear which improves that theme. I honestly don't play for a challenge I just like a distraction for a hour or two after work to relax.

diablo 4 is for very casual players who don't play many games i don't get why people are suprised that this is the direction they are going in, I can't wait for poe2 since i knew i wouldn't enjoy diablo 3.5/4

they have done really well responding to community feedback so I am hopeful for positive changes to season 6.
Its just to level lock you out of boosting a new character to higher world tiers early like you can currently

Same thing everytime with thier games, I remember back in the day, I had to edit diablo 2, to add a zero after each monster's damage and bosses... give us a challenge for god sakes!!! and risk!! let us lose % XP on the bar when we die and so on... give us a hard mode blizzard!

losing XP on death was a mistake even David Brevik regrets that and monsters resistances... but I agree with difficulty is needed when leveling for some people... just play hardcore for a bit more of risk but no reward...
@@pedaleou Yeah something needs to be done, I might have been too extreme in my comment, but I was so frustrated. Btw I tried Hardcore, but losing character because of disconnect and other ways that can't be prevented doesn't feel worth it. For example, completed a dungeon, teleport back to town, in the loading screen nothing happens. minutes goes by, restart the game, ends up with my character dead. Lets hope Blizzard listen to the community and let people choose their own difficulties with more rewards for playing at that level, and not locking people behind level requirements.
They would have been better if they just made a dungeon in each region with a big boss at the end and each dungeon is linear 1-25 25-50 and so on and so forth. With a way points every 5 levels.
This video need more love than it does cause this is exactly how I think everyone is feeling right now,also maybe they shouldnt go through with the new world tier system and then just add the new paragon board with the runes and call it a day
Also the GA always dropping seems dumb, I understand that in the PTR ancestrals are really rare but it gets rid of the point of getting a GA in the first place cause then everyone gonna have one
I too feel like most of the community feels this way at the moment if they even spent any time trying to level from scratch.
so before we needed to go world tier 4 now we need to go torment 4 to do something challenging. what is the point than :)
Is it possible to play with Season 5 characters ? SO tired of creating new characters
Not really since all the equipment from season 5 was captive 540 item power.
Playing as a level and item power adjusted season 5 character gives a very skewed idea of how the new system works.
Honestly they should not have copied them over for the leveling portion of the test
@@GGMentor Yeh true.. I personaly think the PTR is extremely boring. I miss my Season 5 characters which really killed. The PTR characters are just so boring and weak and also it takes so long to level up and the Paragon boards are created for the worse...

Sadly i have to agree. I hope they atleast remove the lvl requirement from penitent.
The crazy thing is, Is it they removed world Tier 3 because they said it was a useless difficulty then proceeded to add four or more useless difficulties.
Normal through Pennington are basically just not worth even playing unless you have no skill level whatsoever.
So even if they do remove level requirements? We're just back to where we started with not one but four useless difficulties lol

I don’t understand why game devs today make their game as babies first game with how they simplify mechanics and the depth that a game should have. I redownloaded d4 and immediately went back to Diablo 2.
The brain dead early difficulty is a massive problem. I quit after a few hours in the original beta due to boredom. I like D2 because I actually have to pay attention and make a decent build even in normal
They should approach leveling and difficulty the same way Skyrim does, with profane mindcages.
Locations with different difficulties that are always open and player can add difficulty to increase rewards.
Still too easy, was boring like hell to level, everything was so crazy easy, and I couldn't unlock higher difficulties until I was higher level... so disappointed!!!
Profane Mindcages remind me of Bonfire Ascetics from Dark Souls 2

Has anybody noticed how Boring items are in Diablo 4? Like literally 98% of legendarys in the game are just Generic "Add % damage". Meanwhile in diablo 3 you could get a Legendary Two handed Sword that had "Chance on hit to summon Demonic slave" which was this huge ass Demon with a Giant Flaming sword that had a Chain connected to itself and the player that did Fire damage to everything that was caught by it. Like Where the fuck are cool items like that blizzard? Even the Uber Uniqe items in the game are freaking boring, with the exception of Tyraels might.
I am a super fan like you; grew up in sanctuary. These system and gameplay developers have the building blocks but don’t know what to do with them.. I have never seen developers scrap so much of their live product only to replace it with something inferior. Seasons, systems and currencies ruined this installment nevermind the 18 difficulties that I am asked to throttle just so the game isn’t broken when I get stronger.. Tired of watching diablo devs try to reinvent the wheel instead of embracing well established, fan favorite systems, characters and class concepts. Leveling is a joke and I don’t like being launched to max level just for roaming. Artists can only carry this game so far. 😢
Well said. Wish the game was overall harder. And loot was more interesting and harder to find. The whole aspect system I find stupid. Help. Lol.

So the game as turn in to kinda single player game? My friends are always not at the same lvs so this is kinda gonna suck for us
being stuck in "expert" till 50 is so bizarre and then you go to penitent for only 10 levels. Now we gotta do pits to get to a higher torment tier, not a fan of that, i actually liked capstone bosses even thou they became a joke after the power creep but still there was something about it. I've never been a fan of pits/rifts. didn't like GR's in D3. Them moving materials to NM dungeons is cool thou, that is a positive change. This is PTR thou and I think A LOT of people are talking about the new tier levels. Hopefully they take note of it.
Played d4 for the first time last weekend. First 60 lvls felt completely trivial. Needs a loot filter asap
I miss the days of d2 with a good leveling system and feel through an actual act 1-5 campaign.
If they followed this system they could have really made changes to monsters. For example, end of 2nd phase difficulty, that cut scene of Inarius dying and the demons taking control. You enter into 3rd difficulty and Lilith hordes take over, more challenging monsters, different smarter combat mechanics.
Hell coming in this new expansion turned to either a final act, but in my mind, a 4th harder tier campaign and hell breaches appearing with new monsters from hell, bringing back doom knights etc, would be amazing.
The open map is meh, all it is is diablo 2 a1-5 maybe? Without any dividing , they really need an option to only see 1 region at a time on the map, it’s way too bloated and annoying to search for stuff
Meanwhile D2R patch notes for season 8 is a gust of wind howling and also some deafening silence.

I think when giving feedback to blizzard it is really important to be as precise as humanly possible. Because when we just tell them leveling is boring because of useless difficulties they will maybe just remove leveling instead of fixing the problem. Like with the overworld navigation to get to the nightmare dungeons. Instead of making the journey a fun one they just removed it and invented the teleport^^
Overall im pretty concerned right now, because they put a lot d3 like stuff into the game which im not the biggest fan of especially in terms of leveling and "leveling itemisation".
I just dont like the fact that i have to play around 5 hours of leveling, just for the sake of leveling and everything i do having no impact after another 5 hours of playing. Because then i basically just threw away 5 hours of my lifetime.
Torment 4 was also easy. My whirlwind had worse gear than in the live game and it felt easier. And it will be extremely easy if you have glyphs at lvl 46 because you get 5 new multipliers.
It was frustrating to have to play easy mode because you had to be lvl 60 to do the pit to get into Torment. And when I got to lvl 60 I did pits to go straight to torment 4.
Luckily we'll get a new campaign, new zones and new side quest.
They spent alot of time to make unnecessary changes when all they had to do was nerfing player power and balance the game better.
The game is still missing exciting items. It's all about aspects and multipliers. The most important and powerful thing for a whirlwind barb isn't any item, it's dust devil aspects. It's so boring.
I think the progression level system should combine skill levels and paragon levels where they level up together but paragon can go past lvl 60 skill but once you get to level 60 your paragon board should be 2 thirds completed.
Damn season 5 was so much fun why did they have to ruin everything
I wouldn't think that way, Public Test Realm is where we test, and where they gather feedback. So Don't look at it as a bad thing, look at it as a good thing that these things did not make it to the live server. But instead were tested on ptr and hopefully will be addressed by the devs before going live! which could mean that season 6 might just be amazing!

I totally agree about the difficulties. Normal and hard can really go away, if you have difficulty clearing normal and you feel you need to play at that difficulty I don't know what to say. I like what they are trying to do because in Diablo 2 and Diablo 4 once you got to hell or WT4 it was over, the other difficulties did not matter. There was no reason to ever go back. So they are kind of meaningless. I would argue that Diablo 2 isn't a very challenging game after you learn it (which granted takes some effort). The first time I played it and did not know what I was doing it seemed difficult but after that everything outside of late hell was very easy, nightmare was easier than normal even. So the same problem kind of existed then but it's worse now. Other than than there is some very cool stuff in the PTR and good ideas and I expect a lot of tuning to take place to deliver a better season 6 than the PTR. The PTRs seem to work because everyone was negative about season 5 PTR but they improved it by a lot and now season 5 is the best season so far.
for player like us it's killing us i feel they need to open all lvl so noobs can play where they can and people like us can play in the harder lvls i feel that would fix most of it
Remember guys, this is just a waiting room for PoE_2, where we get battered to death by the first Zombies in act_1.
I'd love an ARPG where you actually gotta fight the monsters... not just smash they keyboard and blow up the scree.

So GA's aren't special anymore everyone will have them ah yes this all screams that casual players complained about not getting GAs so everyone gets GAs now. Don't have to farm so much now since everything is just given to us now.
They've made ancestrals considerably harder to obtain, hence why they always now come with GA
not this D3 garbage difficutly again. Make zones in world harder instead 20 difficulties that are same and lame & pointless
Bro hams they can’t do that with the way aspects work.. it would be a balancing fucking nightmare Because the game works like this.. 99% of ur class or characters power comes form aspects not the class or skills .. if aspects drop like candy and easily accessible as they are.. u can put 2 aspects on and kill monsters 60 lvls higher then you at lvl 10 for an example doing a cap stone at lvl 20 and the monsters are 50 I still one shot the boss how tf u going to ballance that ? When my char at lvl 20 does damage equil to a lvl 99 char on d2 with infinity and full inv of skillers and ptorch n anni.. even tho my land slide is lvl1 .. one aspect does more damage then maxing a skill in ur skill tree and evey passive combined x10 or 20
I wonder what kind magic the devs of Blizzard North used ages ago to make the leveling process so fun and still are so many years later. 🤔
They designed the game like a classic rpg. D4 is pretty much just an action game with fake rpg mechanics.
The game was finally feeling descent and now they just go and f it up. Could have just added a wt5 and added some newer glyphs instead of reducing how many glyphs and reducing the theory crafting options. Reducing the gem options with no hp is also a big f.

Aye I talk about that near the end. Thankfully if the community speaks up we are likely to see changes before S6 launch to fix this garbage.
I made a fresh druid for ptr, can confirm first four difficulties felt homogeneous and easy, felt stuck on expert for ages, then went to penitent and it felt same same.
From what I gathered the only meaningful mechanical ( ai behavior) difficulty change is between normal to penitent, so it sorts makes sense those would be divided since the mobs jave to move the same way to all players. But ad mobs behave the same between penitent to all levels of torment: thode dhould just be in the same multiplayer bracket /realm. So you ought to just change your torment/(mindcage) level and still be able to play with your group across those. (and just lock your dubgeon/raid instance once you chose your level)
I suppose it's divided so you can't get boosted by going high torment and having a low torment kill the boss much faster while you avoid the fight

I talk about that towards the end, season 4 PTR and season 5 PTR were also garbage but due to community feedback both seasons have been amazing.
I have no doubt it people speak up on these issues season 6 will be good as well.
I wonder if they are slowing the game way way down again now that the xpac is here.....then speeding it up each season so we are on this constant loop like in wow xpac and patches.

I played season 1 and season 2 and just got bored. The game felt too easy for 90% of it as i could basically smash my hands on the keyboard, blow up half the level and move on. I enjoy ARPGs that require more careful play throughout the leveling process and endgame.
Seriously tho. So wild takes out here. Before, people were complaining about the scaling and level of difficulty and now it’s a problem that you choose the scale based on skill/power and still not happy. You are not grouping with your low level friend in d2 unless you’re power leveling. Community can’t make up their minds

what was wrong with the previous difficulty system? They should simply add WT5 and be done with it. They trynna re-invent the wheel and make us regrind the fck out again. And whats the fckn point? Lets say i max out again all glyphs to absolute max, get again all uber 2-3ga and buy for multiple caps of gold all ideal 3ga with ideal max tempers once again? WHATS THE FCKN POINT to a min maxer when all ths sht gonna once again change every couple o months with oh increased items levels, reset paragon glyphs and all the gear imma about to regrind becomin useless/legacy. They murdered Eternal community. Im done.
Well, seems like a couple baffling decisions were made, the difficulty being too easy and going from rare to ancestral with such a gap in power is a rather poor decision. Hopefully this PTR will solve this, i'm sure they can.

This game was and has always been for casuals.
Those of us that grind will be far beyond them stat wise, and all they'll do is complain about that and get more things nerfed and dumbed down.
crafting mythic with guaranteed ga is bad. it shouldnt be that easty. and why they changed to all obducite. they always remove any depth they added and make them simpler. i think we will not care about masterworking materials anymore so what will be the grind .
the difficulty doesnt seem to be that much of a problem... IF there is something to aim for and some challenging final endgame
what I am worried about is the levelling part... going from zero the Xth time seems to be really boring if there is no real change to levelling
Level 1-60 is basically Zero challenge yes and even once you are 60 there is little challenge until you hit at minimum torment 3

Try a barbarian on expert with out tempers only with the drops you get
How about limiting myself to 300 item power weapons and armor, using only chipped gems, and still clearing torment 1
Better hope actman doesn't see this one. You just repeated the exact thing he criticized about it being too easy until the end game in his old video. It seems it is a reoccurring problem with D4 and I wonder if there is no way to fix it with the way they have designed the difficulty and progression.
We are literally six seasons past the game that he reviewed. It's not even the same game anymore. Systemically and fundamentally the entire game has changed from his terrible review. There's no correlation tbh
Is your leveling difficulty experience based on playing only necro or other classes as well? If only necro, try out the other ones before you make a general statement? I do understand your cry about not able playing with friends, but you are crying about 15% player base, majority of players play solo and once in VOH you can at least enjoy the Citadel with your friends, but majority of players are forced to play with random people. Anyway, D4 has reached an OK status in S5 but this complete overall change seems to destabilize the game and Blizzard will have to change many things. I just wish they stop copy pasting D3 into D4.

Instead of adding more content, they decide to break what is working and force something shitty to their players.
I think they are actually making some good moves here. It just needs some tuning. Reducing the massive bulk on numbers is a good thing as far as im concerned. If you can make 1000 damage function the same as 1,000,000 for gameplay, why not just reduce it so its easier to see/understand?
Making the ‘good’ items more rare - isint that what people have been wanting? Complaining about the, well, golden shower you get like in d3?
I do think some adjustments to difficulty are in order, of course. I can kinda understand why its like this for a PTR, they just overhauled the balance of the game. Better to play it safe (start small) and see how it goes, then dial it up a bit once you get more data.
D2 players are just generally conditioned to play harder content not like the new generation of d3 and d4 players that's been spoon fed most of the time
Come on man, Diablo 2 isn't that hard once you learn it and know what to do. Once you get elite gear even P8 is not a problem most of the time.
These games have never been difficult. The difficultly lies in the rng of items. I can actually turn my brain off and run through every single one of these games.

Nah, we deliberately went out of our way to make things harder on ourselves by not upgrading our equipment by not using high level gems and we're not spending paragon points and it was still too easy
I was in torment two before I even upgraded my weapon past item level 300
Sort of backwards thinking there ginger... if the bottom levels are ALL trash, everyone should get to T3 relatively quickly... so on day 1 sure, some variance... but rather than a flat rush thru capstones, higher players just gotta drop down to plvl/drag... i dunno man, i didn't watch the stream, didn't play... but your complaints about low level being too easy but others being trapped on it just seems like its either easy to push the person up past it or just... a skill gap? i love your content, but this just seems almost like... i hate d3 so imma poopoo on anything resembling it.

My thoughts honestly were mirrored by anyone else who actually took the time to play.
Across the kinship, and forums of just about anyone who took the time to really level a character legitimately from 1-60 as we were requested to do by blizzard.
@@GGMentor apologies, I tend not to play the PTR because even as a casual player i only get about 4 weeks of enjoyable play per season, so i like the new stuff to be new still. it's a choice and I feel like blizz has enough testers to get the data they need. I was also perhaps a bit harsh. What I basically meant is that if my buddy makes a character after day 1 in current state of game and I am already on WT4, i have to drop down to wt2, rush him to wt4 and we still cant run most of the content until i powerlevel him up in some nmd or something... it's already not playing "together". Sure mindcages solved some gearfarming from helltides. One specific gameplay style which had a good solve. You are correct, that was a very good solution and they should have expanded upon it. Maybe they tried and grouping was meant to work across difficulties, but they couldn't code it in perfectly yet? so future plans? i have no idea. but i don't see much difference between the previous state of the game and the current state, but as you said, i didn't play it. so i could be wrong.

I'll never understand content creators criticizing devs for making the game approachable to players with 0.1% of their playtime. As a casual player, this attitude from creators is why games die. The loudest voices come from the chronically online rewards addicts. You got your 5,000 hours out of your $100 dude. Try not to fuck it all up for the rest of us this time.
I said several times in this video that I have no issues with a difficulty or difficulty mode that allows newer and less hardcore players easy access to the game and a way to learn.
But why are we specifically forced to play that mode?

My goal is the make the game better for everyone, which is literally the goal of PTR to test and find issues which are then fixed.
If you think pointing out flaws is as you put it "**** it all up for the rest of us" than your sadly mistaken.
Season 4 PTR was trash and it was community feedback that helped Season 4 shine.
Season 5 PTR was Dog Tier Garbage, and Community feedback helped Season 5 be the best season that we have had so far.
Season 6 PTR is not really good either and has significant problem, I believe the same will also happen. Feedback from the community will lead to good changes overall and enhancing the game even more before we get to season 6.

Have you seen the live player statistics? Game has been on a downward trajectory regardless of season spikes.

@@longaugust game was on a downward trajectory since season 1 which was terrible.
Most people who haven't played quit after season 1.
And no you idiotic cynic my goal is to make the game better for everyone not just me and my buddies.
And also no my 5000 hours worth is pointless as a content creator.
My goal is to create content to help others understand and play the game better which is why my channel is dedicated to "mentoring" players to have the knowledge they need to make stronger builds.
As opposed to just telling you how to build a character.
How have I personally made the game better?
Videos on every unique item talking about how they could be better, feedback during every PTR, feedback during every season, thousands of hours of Livestreams of conversations that the devs could parse through for ideas, and feedback from a community of hundreds.
Constant neverending theorycrafts of new build ideas every season helping to shape the new Uniques by extension. Out pioneering of Basic builds is probably directly responsible for the addition of items like paingorgers and shard of verathiel.
Helping new players directly that ask for assistance. Which happens on the regular both on live stream and off it.
Answering any and all questions asked both on Livestream, and in comments/discord.
TLDR: Game is still trash and will remain so.
Glad PoE 2 is just around the corner.
Mediocre at best! Loot is bad and to much emphasis is put into crafting!

@@markomejac8172Yeah not much stands out as a major boost or change overall. Levels into skills don't feel very significant once you get past the natural cap.

I don't watch other creators really #1, and #2 I tested for 12 hours to come up with my initial impressions.
