dued man: that one episode with garrette for 1hr and 15 minutes pod cast . . .man. that last five minutes where you described Olympic archers rotating that rear elbow to make the bow arm in from extend the last 2mm. Man! that nailed it for me. I now have my shot activation as the rear elbow rotating and chest expanding and the bow arm pivoting to get that last 2mm extension. I have the feel of that bow arm pivoting and extending. That is a reliable proprioceptive mechanical feel and I release that arrow off that pivot. It is soooo good! that was gold where you were talking about the Olympic archer not pulling anymore with back tension (because that is all the elbow can pull. Now it rotates with the back tension and the bow arm extends as part of the expansion of the chest and rotation of the rear elbow. It actually makes the bow arm pivot at the shoulder, extending that bow arm by 2mm) AMAZING!!! A great way to split the sequence into three: 1. pull to full draw; 2. look (aim and hold past the critical second; ) 3. rotate back elbow, pivot the bow arm at the shoulder, feeling the elongation of the last 2 mm; and whoosh: arrow is loosed. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAN IF I HAD A CLICKER OR A SEAR, THAT IS HOW I 'D ACTIVATE IT: ROTATE THE ELBOW, PIVOT THE BOW SHOULDER.!!!!!
that's the way to do it! thanks Joel! i'm shooting a clicker on my light bow, hoping to keep control on my hunting bow... I know what you're thinking...haha, and you're probably right.... thanks for all of the videos, you, the Push crew, and Tom Clum sr have been monumental in me making the switch from 20+yrs of compound shooting to single string, i'm always amazed how much golden info you guys readily share, you guys are a huge resource, and by far the most helpful.... can't wait to be chasing roosies with my recurve in Sept, and you guys have helped me feel prepared to do it, thanks again!
Yup, I'm doing this. Tired of over and under draws. Thank you for the information. I am thinking about using renaissance wax on fiberglass limbs. Is that safe? Or just leave them alone?
Off topic but what brace height are you shooting on the bow? I just had a custom bow made with very similar limb tips. My bowyer recommended 6.5 but seems low. Thanks!
I thought he was going to be talking about the infected type clicker in the last of us lol and the main character in that game is called Joel. Wtf nice vid btw
here is my shot sequence: Pull (draw); look (aim, well past the critical second); rotate the back elbow, which pivots the bow arm at the shoulder, which extends the bow arm the last 2mm (like an Olympic archer) and slowly either release or don't (sometimes I test to see if I can stop, and I stop in place and then continue). I try to revert back to the cognitive stage of learning. Hi: should I watch ur clicker vid and see if I need to get a clicker? . . . ie: make that clicker tingle with the ever tittering verge of flipping, but teasing it like it is a virgin about to receive christianing for the first time? thx. Make that clicker beg for my man-hood. And then that moment of truth when the clicker is finally satisfied and the arrow plunges in to the soft receiving tunnel path of my manly masculinity? thx
Great tutorial but Matt needs to work on his music selection. It’s like bad 80’s cop movie music. I feel like Joel should be wearing mirrored aviators, fingerless leather gloves and smoking a Marlboro Red like Stallone in Cobra.
I’m 40 so no. The Push Family obviously hasn’t watched many 80’s Americana cult classics. On a side note though, let’s get a clip of Joel wearing the above mentioned garb just as a good time 80’s spoof.
sean lloyd that’s why we love it so much. Tired of the “epic” trend going on for every video on UA-cam. Let’s have a little fun for these instructional videos. Miami Vice anyone?? Enjoy the free content.
Thanks for the best explanation on how to install a clicker. Appreciations!

Nice video Joel. Been setting up my clicks like that for years tho..
I thought he was talking about clickers in the last of us and one of the main characters is named Joel lol wtf

Sack your cameraman!😅
Has anyone ever learned anything from this guy?

sean lloyd agreed!
Tim edited and selected the music. You must be a 2000's kid. Gotta appreciate good music.
