  • A seminary, from its etymology “seminarium” meaning “seed plot” is a place where seeds are germinated and plants are propagated for transplantation- it is a place where the respective vocations of seminarians are planted, nourished, and developed.
But this process of preparing is not an easy task. It requires skills, charism, and above all a deep faith in God - the seed grower. This is where the vital role of formators are needed. Formators are the hands of God who are at work in his vineyard.
70 years ago it was founded by the late Bishop Cesar Ma. Guerrero. We remember how priest-formators from the first to the present teams, contributed to the development of the Seminary as an effective seedbed of vocation. Their selfless dedication in providing pastoral care for the seeds of vocation for the Church has been inviolable.
As we thank God for the gift of 70 blissful years, we also thank Him for the gift of formators. We also remember our Seminary fathers who have gone before us and enjoy the rewards of their fidelity and dedication. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to the past formators who were reassigned to other pastoral ministry for their service and dedication. And, to our current team of formators for their tireless and selfless efforts in responding to the challenges of the changing times.
Like our dear Mother of Good Counsel, our formators do not fail to give us counsel in the midst of the complexities of life. And together with them we hope that our mission to proclaim the “great things God has done for us” will find its fruitful completion.
