Dark crusade intros gave us the stronghold details in subtle manner. Soulstorm is about as subtle as an imperial guard bombardment on an enemy position.
@@finnheisenheim8274 I think it's mostly due to Soulstorm's strongholds being more gimmicky and thus having to explain manually what's happening. But I mean, DC's Necron stronghold is the most gimmicky of all (you need to plant a bomb and escape with your commander, and there are 5 points on the map that will activate and ruin your life once you activate the bomb), and loading screen + commander dialogue is enough to explain it. That and the first beacon being mandatory explaining you the secondary objectives without having to cut on Macabee's awesome speech
When you realize that this speech really did canonically happen..... Let's remember this was the Blood Ravens last stand on Karauva as noted in Dawn Of War II :D
The funniest thing about this is that if the Steel Rain tactic is in the Codex Astartes, then all the SPHES MAHRENES should know it already. So Boreale is just wasting time reminding them of a tactic they already know when they're already short on time.
The thing is... Even Astartes can't remember ALL of the Codex teachings. Check out "The Chapter's Due", where it was said that only primarchs could remember the whole thing.
That's why he says "as you know"... which just makes everything he says after that completely redundant. That sentence is just writing at its clumsiest, because anytime someone says "as you know", *then they already know*. And yet... And yet I can confirm numerous instances of exactly that "as you know" arising in real-life institutional situations, from a boss, from an instructor, in memos, over and over and over again. I find it regrettably realistic.
@BlackDeathViral03 Thats true, however, Blood Ravens are one of the so-called "Codex Chapters", which means they are treating Codex Astartes as unquestionable law, therefore, they really should know it as well as Ultrasmurfs (that are, unsuprisingly, Codex Chapter as well)

New headcanon: that's Cyrus
That is Cyrus’s VA there so yeah
His voice is fine, idk why everyone says he has a speech impediment, the only problems I can hear are poor editing, clipping and breathing. When I played this back when it was new I was too exited about playing 40k on a computer to notice.
It’s Scott McNeil trying (and failing) to do a British accent.
This has aged like fine wine
0:11 never noticed that land speeder crashing into the HQ before... lol.
We ar the Spess Mehrens. We will steal the enemy!
The fact that this came up as result number 3 when I searched "spess mehreens"...
I cry every time
Just a reminder that Boreale managed to lose half the blood ravens on Kaurava.
There’s a reason Cyrus despises him.
Is that scout at the beginning meant to be Cyrus, he has the most different voice of the other scouts?
probable, since the voice now reminds me of him
It has to be. They sound very similar.
@@theraptorcommissar1015 Because that’s Cyrus’s VA
We are da spess mehreens! We are da emprahs fewhri!
I love how they finally made the chaos Lord like Sauron, but they needed a fanatic so they made the captain the Crimson Chin.
METAL BAWKSES
TODEH WE'RE NOT IN SPEHSS!
0:43 Chaplain: *facepalms* "By the Emperor, not this again."
best speech ever
The blood ravens are truly the greatesh chapter
I don't get it... he has a pretty cool voice IMO. I get that the actor is going for some weird accent, but it doesn't sound as bad as the SPEHSS MAREENS meme makes it sound.
Our perimeter has been prepared in the event that our enemy should be so bold and so foolish! We have placed numerous beacons, allowing for multiple, simultaneous and devastating defensive deep strikes.
(c. Indrick Boreale, the best spess meehrines rap god)
(laughing like a madman) Fucking......Boreal......can't......need....air.....
So, this is how the legend started.
0:27 Cyrus during the Kauruva campaign
The fact that this is Scott McNeil as Boreale makes this all the more hilarious/painful
"YAH TAHRING ME APAHT, DIOMEDES!"
This is the greatest thing I have ever seen.
