Why is it harder because you're older? I beg to differ. I spoke with a 70 year old who is currently learning his 20th language my friend. Don't limit yourself based on the number of your years 💪🏾

Bro. Proud of you man. I made a similar move in 2010. Decided to step out on faith and left my 9-5 for a entrepreneurial pursuit for 8 years. Wasn’t always easy but God provided along the way. I was able to do a lot of things that my other friends and family couldn’t because I had more FLEXIBILITY. Not that I was a millionaire, but I was able to be at every one of my kids events , doc appts etc. I’m glad you speak up about your relationship with Christ. Welcome to the 30’s. I just completed 39 years on the 7th of December and am looking at 40. New perspectives, new dreams. I Pray God fulfills his will in your life Philippians 1:6. Much love bro from Louisiana. Last bit, I was just in Bogotá, Medellín, and Cartagena the last 2 weeks. Loved it bro 🇨🇴

Rick. . . interesting how you are a native English speaker, yet at the 7:50 marker in the video you mention that you do not know how to say ''me apasiona'' in English. As a native English speaker with a decent Spanish fluency, I completely understand. At times, I forget words in English and also Spanish slips out when I am speaking with an all-English audience. It is refreshing to hear how this happens to other bilinguals. I think these occurrences are not easily understand by ''some'' monolinguals.

I haven't moved because I haven't figured out how to support myself there. I'm a truck driver here would want something else to do there, and the rules on residency, real estate...etc.

As someone that is vaccinated, I still understand why someone would be apprehensive. I don't think it should be mandated to become vaccinated. But still stay safe, its good to see someone chasing their dreams.

Exactly. To me it's a violation of freedom, but it its what it is. I like your view on it even as a vaccinated individual. I have nothing against the vaxed vs the unvaxed. just take precautions y ya.
Hey sir, I agree with your sentiment even though I am a traditional Catholic. One should not have to risk side effects from a jab in favor of a job. Many relatives of mine had adverse side effects, as far as I could tell, I had a mild RONA infection and got over it quite well. Mexico to me seems like a free country in terms of this whole medical thing and their temporary residence program is easy to obtain. ¡Que Dios te bendiga!
First all, Ricky its pretty dope that you are sharing this. I've been subscribed for awhile now, Ive enjoyed your videos as I am on my personal journey of learning Spanish. It is a passion of mine as well. Looking forward to what you will be working on. As far as DR, Yea pray and listen to God, and know what matters to you and see how life would be there, like you said by talking to another American who lives there, maybe also find out the challenges of being unvaccinated there and how that would effect the quality of life. And how their hospital system runs there. I have looked a bit into PR's hospitals and I didnt hear many good things. Maybe stay for a month or two and see if you like the life there. If not you can always come back. Best wishes!

Thanks TJ! I appreciate that and your long time support! There is definitely a lot to consider, but I won't make any decisions until God gives me peace about it. In 2013 my plan was to move to PR and I'm glad I didn't with all the crazy hurricanes and earthquakes. So I know better than to just go because I want to. Good luck with PR though. It's still a beautiful place and if you go to the right spot, you won't even really be effected by the tropical storms and all.

Hey me alegra mucho saber que tengas ganas de conocer mi pais. Llevo viendo tus videos por mas de un año y los usé mucho para inspirar a mis estudiantes cuando enseñaba Español. Es muy inteligente de tu parte consultar con una experta antes de mudarte. Si puedo recomendarte algo, es que también veas los videos de Educated Travel en YT. Él es un expat (creo que es de los EEUU) que lleva mucho tiempo viviendo aqui y hace documentales y asesoría sobre nuestro país. Como dominicano, he notado que él explica de forma muy realista lo que se siente vivir aqui y cómo es nuestra sociedad. Él habla de lo bueno y lo malo. Creo que sus videos te pueden dar una visión mas aterrizada/down to earth, de cómo es la vida de un expat aqui, junto con consejos muy útiles. Bendiciones!!

I am going to the DR for 2 months in febuary. I will probably return frequently. Did you have trouble getting a bank account, credit card, debit card from a local bank? Is your plan to just overstay your visa? or actually get lagal status there? Looks like the fees aren't bad to overstay so that is what I will do.

Hey me alegra mucho saber que tengas ganas de conocer mi pais. Llevo viendo tus videos por mas de un año y los usé mucho para inspirar a mis estudiantes cuando enseñaba Español. Es muy inteligente de tu parte consultar con una experta antes de mudarte. Si puedo recomendarte algo, es que también veas los videos de Educated Travel en YT. Él es un expat (creo que es de los EEUU) que lleva mucho tiempo viviendo aqui y hace documentales y asesoría sobre nuestro país. Como dominicano, he notado que él explica de forma muy realista lo que se siente vivir aqui y cómo es nuestra sociedad. Él habla de lo bueno y lo malo. Creo que sus videos te pueden dar una visión mas aterrizada/down to earth, de cómo es la vida de un expat aqui, junto con consejos muy útiles. Bendiciones!!

I am going to the DR for 2 months in febuary. I will probably return frequently. Did you have trouble getting a bank account, credit card, debit card from a local bank? Is your plan to just overstay your visa? or actually get lagal status there? Looks like the fees aren't bad to overstay so that is what I will do.

Honestly, I'm in situation too like this. I got a study exchange in Mexico and my country is banning outward travel so its looking like I probably can't go and its such a shame.
I learned Spanish every for 5 years just so I would get a chance like this to use my Spanish in Mexico. I believe if God willed it, it will happen so pray for me brother, I love you and your videos, I learn so much from you always.
